ARROWOOD

James C. Arrowood, 75, California, died March 13, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.

He was born June 14, 1924, in Marion, N.C., a son of Vernon and Hattie Davis Arrowood. He was married to Nora Evelyn Morrow, who died Jan. 20, 1978. He was married March 6, 1982, to Beulah Seabolt, who survives in California.

An Army veteran of World War II, he was a heavy equipment operator, working for the Local 513 Operating Engineers. He was a Baptist.

Other survivors include: four sons, Michael Dean Arrowood, Perry, Jerry Arrowood, Columbia, and Randy Arrowood and Jimmy Arrowood, both of California; four daughters, Judy Childress, Lima, Ohio, Karen Arrowood and Christine Arrowood, both of Marion, N.C., and Tasha Arrowood, California; three brothers, John Arrowood, Fred Arrowood and Dean Arrowood, all of Marion. N.C.; two sisters, Lucille Cowan, Marion, N.C., and Betty Medsker, Wentzville; 20 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

One infant son, Daniel Arrowood, preceded him in death.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lebanon Baptist Church, McGirk. The Rev. Frank Whitney will officiate. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens, Fulton.

Visitation will be from 5-7:30 p.m. today at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California.

Memorials are suggested to the American Lung Association, 1118 Hampton Ave., St. Louis, Mo. 63139-3196; or the American Heart Association, 2600 I-70 Dr. N.W., P.O. Box 30638, Columbia, Mo. 65205-3638.

VAN OSDOL

Donald E. Van Osdol, 75,  Jefferson City, died March 14, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 21, 1924, in Shelbyville, a son of Floyd and Velma Perrigo Van Osdol. He was married Jan. 19, 1945, in Omaha, Neb., to Dordan Kuhns, who survives at the home.

He attended school in Shelbyville. A resident of the  Jefferson City area since 1967, he was an antique dealer until his retirement in 1990.

Other survivors include: two sons, Dwayne Van Osdol, Omaha, and Doyle Van Osdol,  Jefferson City; three daughters, Donna Fear and Denise Taylor, both of  Jefferson City, and Debra Loper, Plattsmouth, Neb.; one sister, Phyllis Schwieter, state of Washington ; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Private family services are planned.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Freeman Mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.

HAINES

Leonore M. Haines, 91, Camdenton, died March 13, 2000, at Osage Beach Healthcare Center.

She was born Oct. 14, 1908, in Walnut Township, Iowa, a daughter of Homer and Dell Harris McCarty. She was married Dec. 21, 1928, in Mystic, Iowa, to Simon V. Haines, who died Feb. 3, 1957.

A former Drakesville, Iowa, resident, she was a homemaker. She was a member of Drakesville Methodist Church.

Survivors include: two daughters, M. Marlene Bassett, Drakesville, and Judy Robbins, Camdenton; one brother, Phil McCarty, Port St. Lucie, Fla.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

One son, Bill Haines, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Drakesville Methodist Church. The Rev. Kevin Gingerich will officiate. Burial will be in Drakesville Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Allee-Reed Funeral Home, Camdenton, and from 10:30-11 a.m. Thursday at Drakesville Methodist Church.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society; or to Drakesville Cemetery, c/o Marlene Bassett, 102 South Polk, Drakesville, Iowa 52552.

BRYAN

Wilma J. Bryan, 80,  Jefferson City, died March 13, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 16, 1919, in Hickory County, a daughter of William M. and Mary Emma Parker LaRose. She was married April 26, 1939, to Martin Bryan, who died Feb. 17, 1985.

A former resident of Marshall, she was a homemaker and worked in the cafeteria at St. Peter's School, Marshall. She had been a resident of  Jefferson City for the past 10 years.

She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Marshall, the Altar and Rosary Society and the Duplicate Bridge Club.

Survivors include: one daughter, Andrea Olsen,  Jefferson City; two sisters, Evelyn Thomas, Marshall, and Marie Stanfield, Snyder, Texas ; two brothers, Bill LaRose, Shawnee Mission, Kan., and Ralph LaRose, Sugar Creek; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Marshall. The Rev. Louis E. Dorn will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery, Marshall.

Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home, Marshall, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to St. Peter's Catholic Church, Marshall.

WISDOM

Harvey L. Wisdom Jr., 87,  Jefferson City, died March 11, 2000, at the IHS Rehabilitation Center of Fort Myers, Fort Myers, Fla.

He was born Aug. 31, 1912, in California, a son of Myrtle Boyer. He was married April 18, 1935, in  Jefferson City, to W. Cleo Jones, who died Feb. 25, 1999.

He was a graduate of California High School. He worked for Shryack-Hirst, Armour Meat Packing Co., and was an administrative assistant at Kansas University Medical Center. He then was director of purchasing at Baptist Medical Center, Kansas City, for 18 years.

He was a member and deacon at Wornall Road Baptist Church, Kansas City. He was a member of the Boy Scouts and Order of the Mic-O-Say. In 1977, he retired to Versailles, where he was a member of First Baptist Church and the Kiwanis Club.

In 1990, he returned to  Jefferson City, where he was a member and deacon at First Baptist Church. He was a member of the Purpose Sunday School Class and the Senior Choir of the church.

Survivors include: one son, Walter Carl Wisdom, Bonita Springs, Fla.; one daughter, Grace C. Fulkerson, Denver; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Doyle Sager will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Buescher Memorial Home.

Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church.

TOLER

Vincil Roy Toler, 78, California, died March 13, 2000, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.

He was born Jan. 12, 1922, near Clarksburg, a son of Charles M. and Blanche Barron Toler. He was married Nov. 16, 1942, in California, to Madeline Morris, who survives at the home.

He attended Prairie Home High School, and was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He worked for Roy Schepperle Construction Company for more than 25 years. He was a member of Pisgah Baptist Church, Laborers Local 662, and VFW Post 4345, California.

Other survivors include: one son, Roy Warren Toler, California; three sisters, Elsie Elliot, Faye Dameron and Alice Crawford, all of California.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Pisgah Baptist Church. The Rev. Roy Sparks, the Rev. Ivan Dameron and the Rev. Steve Thomas will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Pisgah Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California, with a VFW service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will also be from noon-2 p.m. Friday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to Pisgah Baptist Church, c/o Marjorie Tuttle, PO Box 112, Prairie Home, Mo. 65068.

SLOAN

Bob G. Sloan, 69, Iberia, died March 13, 2000, at Lake Regional Health Center, Osage Beach.

He was born June 11, 1930, in Sullivan, a son of Roy and Rosa Mary Humphrey Sloan. He was married May 6, 1950, in Oceola, Ark., to Bobbie Carroll, who survives at the home.

He worked for Play-Mor Trucking in Westphalia, retiring in 1989.

Other survivors include: one son, Gary Sloan, Iberia; one daughter, Terry Tabor, Richland; two brothers, Bill Sloan, Swiss, and Jim Sloan, Drake; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, near Iberia.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.

SCHULTZ

Ilene F. Schultz, 69, Camdenton, died March 14, 2000, at Lake Regional Health Center, Osage Beach.

She was born June 27, 1930, in Lincoln, Neb., a daughter of Richard and Maude Preston. She was married Dec. 21, 1970, in Miami, Okla., to John Schultz Sr., who survives at the home.

A resident of the Lake area for the past 13 years, she was a nurse until her retirement. She was a member of the Catholic church and Elk's Lodge 2705.

Other survivors include: three sons, Gary N. Lee, Wishart, and Richard Lee and Ted D. Lee, both of Springfield; one grandson and two great-grandsons.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Allee-Reed Funeral Home, Camdenton.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.

REED

Services were today for L. Elizabeth Reed, 96, Kansas City, formerly of  Jefferson City, who died March 11, 2000, at her home.

She was born Aug. 1, 1903, in Nevada, a daughter of Charles H. Jr. and Anna Louise Struebbe Kuhlman. She was married Oct. 2, 1921, to I.H. "Jim" Reed, who died in December 1989.

She moved to  Jefferson City in 1958. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Memorial Community Hospital Auxiliary and Gift Shop,  Jefferson City Country Club, Cole County Historical Society and the board of directors of Girl Scouts. She also lived in Sedalia. She was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church, Kansas City.

Survivors include one daughter, D'Ann R. Hickok, Kansas City, two grandsons, and three great-granddaughters.

Services were at St. Andrews Episcopal Church. Burial was private.

Memorials are suggested to the Mayo Foundation for FAP Research, c/o Linda Riggs, 200 First Street S.W., Rochester, Minn. 55905.

Arrangements were under the direction of D.W. Newcomer's Sons Stine and McClure Chapel, Kansas City.

LOVE

Earl Love, 90, Vichy, died March 14, 2000, at Maries Manor Health Care Center, Vienna.

He was born May 5, 1909, in Phelps County, a son of Charley and Stella Chapman Love. He was married March 30, 1940, in Rolla, to Lockie Spencer, who survives at the home.

He worked for Pevely Dairy, St. Louis, and was a yardman for Powel and Herman Lumber Companies, Rolla, until his retirement. He also farmed in Maries County. He attended Davis Community Church, Vichy.

Other survivors include: one son, Roy Love, Vichy; one daughter, Blanche Lane, Owensville; one brother, Raymond "Buck" Love, St. Louis; three sisters, Maude Bailey, Jessie Workman and Billie Elrod, all of Vienna; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

One daughter, Virginia Snodgrass, preceded him in death.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna. The Rev. Cameron Moles will officiate. Burial will be in Upper Davis-Spencer Cemetery, Vichy.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
