KIRBY
Hillard John Kirby, 85, Rose Hill, Iowa, died March 20, 2000, at Miller County Care Center, Tuscumbia.
He was born Nov. 6, 1914, in Barnes City, Iowa, a son of John and Amelia Kitzman Kirby. He was married in Lancaster to Jessie Cora Strasser, who died in October 1993.
He was a lifelong resident of Rose Hill.
Survivors include: one son, Woody Kirby, Camdenton; one sister, Phyllis Bunting, Oskaloosa, Iowa; two grandsons and two step granddaughters.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Forest Cemetery, Oskaloosa. The Rev. Bill Kolb will officiate.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rekus Funeral Home, Eldon.
McGINNIS
Montess F. McGinnis, 94, Jefferson City, died March 21, 2000, at Jefferson City Manor.
She was born Aug. 30, 1905, in Eureka Springs, Ark., a daughter of Fletcher C. and Rosa Jane Knox Finn. She was married April 24, 1926, in Springfield, to Eugene P. McGinnis, who died Aug. 16, 1978.
She attended Pleasant Valley School, Eureka Springs, and was a homemaker. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Arkansas and Wesley Heights United Methodist Church, Kansas City.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary Jane Hollis, Jefferson City.
Two infant sons preceded her in death.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home. The Rev. Harvel R. Sanders will officiate. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Bland Cemetery, Rogers, Ark.
Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Thursday.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
DUSHEKE
Veronica Catherine "Fronia" Dusheke, 94, Jefferson City, died March 22, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born Sept. 4, 1905, in Mary's Home, a daughter of Benjamin H. and Nancy Golden Berendzen. She was married June 30, 1925, in Mary's Home, to Hugo Martin Dusheke, who died Feb. 23, 1959.
She attended Eugene High School and graduated in the first class of the Missouri Nursing Home Association as a certified nurses aide. A homemaker, she worked in the dietary department at St. Marys Health Center and as a certified nurses aide at St. Joseph's Home for the Aged for many years until her retirement.
She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church, the St. Peters Senior Citizens Organization and the VFW Auxiliary.
Survivors include: three sons, Lloyd Dusheke and Bernard Dusheke, both of Jefferson City, and Ronald Dusheke, Eugene; three daughters, Juli Ann Rehagen, Jefferson City, Dorothy Lants, Blue Springs, and Judith Land, Maryland Heights; 22 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
One son, Charles Dusheke, died Aug. 10, 1927, and one daughter, Willa Mae Leisner, died Jan. 7, 1979.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Snows Catholic Church, Mary's Home. The Rev. Clarence Wiederholt will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Buescher Memorial Home, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the Heisinger Lutheran Home or a charity of the donor's choice.
JEFFRIES
MaryLee Jeffries, 41, Fulton, died March 22, 2000, at her home.
She was born June 2, 1958, in Cumberland, Md., a daughter of Eldon and Anna Jean Kidwell Shipman. Her parents survive in Fulton. She was married April 30, 1999, in Fulton, to John Jeffries, who survives at the home.
A graduate of Fulton High School and Lincoln University's School of Nursing, she was a registered nurse at Fulton State Hospital. She was a member of several professional organizations.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Summer Lee Hughes, Fulton; one stepson, Chad Jeffries, Mexico; one sister, Sandra Hudgens, Fulton; and one step grandson.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton.
Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Friday.
JENNINGS
Jack Francis Jennings, 64, New Bloomfield, died March 21, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born Sept. 13, 1935, in Minok, Ill. He was married Oct. 10, 1954, in Tunas, to Treva Hack, who survives at the home.
A Navy veteran, he was a craftsman, carpenter and cabinet maker.
Other survivors include: three sons, Jay Jennings, Sunrise Beach, and James Mark Jennings and John Jennings, both of New Bloomfield; one daughter, Cindy Hale, Sedalia; two sisters, Mildred Melcher, New Bloomfield, and Eileen Franklin, Aurora, Ill.; nine grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Debo Funeral Home, Holts Summit. Burial will be in Summit Memorial Park Cemetery, Holts Summit.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.
HARTHCOCK
Agatha Harthcock, 91, Springfield, died March 22, 2000, in Springfield.
She was born Oct. 2, 1908, in Willard, a daughter of Virgil and Alta Sneed Mitchell. She was married to Alfred Harthcock, who died Sept. 27, 1972.
She was a homemaker and a 60-year member of Lynn Street Baptist Church, Springfield.
Survivors include: two sons, Roland Harthcock, Springfield, and Allen Harthcock, Jefferson City; one daughter, Betty Cheek, Springfield; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. today at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield.
Memorials are suggested to Lynn Street Baptist Church.
BAUMANN
Helen Frances Baumann, 90, Jefferson City, died March 22, 2000, at California Care Center, California.
She was born Dec. 25, 1909, in Jennings, a daughter of William E. and Helen Frances Schuette Kemper. She was married June 27, 1942, in California, to Edward Henry Baumann, who died Nov. 21, 1995.
A homemaker, she was a member of St. Martin Catholic Church, the Over-Fifty Club, Ladies Sodality, Catholic Knights of America and the Sewing Circle.
Survivors include: three daughters, Mary H. Samson, Linn, and Rose G. Baumann and Bertha M. Bias, both of Jefferson City; two sons, Joseph W. Baumann, Ashland, and Mark H. Baumann, Abilene, Kan.; one sister, Emily Gerke, Beamann; one brother Robert Kemper, Sedalia; eight grandchildren; one step granddaughter; six great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren.
One son, John Edward Baumann, and one great-grandson preceded her in death.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Martin Catholic Church. The Rev. Edwin A. Schmidt will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

EVANS
Bennie Evans, 76, Eldon, died March 22, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born May 11, 1923, in Warrenton, a son of William and Ethel Jones Evans. He was married June 4, 1958, in Tupelo, Miss., to Norma Vaughan, who survives at the home.
He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II, receiving two Purple Hearts and two Bronze Stars. He worked for the Eldon School District for 15 years as a bus driver and painter. He managed a Nickerson Farms restaurant and worked in Max Allen's Reptile Gardens.
Other survivors include: four sons, Alvin Evans, Gravois Mills, Anthony Evans, Eldon, Denny Evans, Warrenton, and Danny Evans, Bolivar; three daughters, Cynthia Polly, Hayden, Colo., Niki Evans, Eldon, and Denise Evans, O'Fallon; one sister, Edna Crawford, Cherokee Village, Ark.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rekus Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. George Wilson will officiate. Burial, with military honors, will be in Dooley Cemetery near Eldon.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday.
Memorials are suggested to the Rape and Abuse Crisis Center.
ROTH
Charles "Chuck" Roth, 53, Versailles, died March 21, 2000, at his home.
Arrangements are pending at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California.
KOCH
Hazel Virginia Koch, 69, Rocky Mount, died March 21, 2000, at Lake Regional Health Center, Osage Beach.
She was born Jan. 28, 1931, in Panama, Ill., a daughter of LaRue L. and Lola Craig Hollenbaugh. She was married Aug. 20, 1949, in St. Louis, to Charles W. Koch, who survives at the home.
She retired from Kroger Bakery in St. Louis in 1990 as an accounts payable clerk. She moved to Rocky Mount in 1991.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Karen Burkhardt, Columbia, and Diana Lynn Robert, Rocky Mount; one son, Richard E. Koch, Eldon; one brother, Robert Hollenbaugh, Fenton; one sister, Velda Carter, Florissant; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Randall Bunch will officiate. Burial will be in Eldon City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday.
MARET
Charles Edwin Maret, 75, Stover, died March 21, 2000, at his home.
He was born Dec. 6, 1924, in Jackson County, a son of Charles B. and Jessie M. Ebbs Maret. He was married to Gladys Sheely Bay, who survives at the home.
He worked for General Motors in Kansas City for more than 30 years and was a member of the United Auto Workers. A World War II Army Air Corps veteran, he was a member of VFW Post 1829, Kansas City.
Other survivors include: two stepsons, Bernard L. Bay and Robert L. Bay, both of Sedalia; two stepdaughters, Doreen L. Kraxberger, Blue Springs, and Diane L. Griffin, Kansas City; 10 step grandchildren and one step great-grandson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles.
The remains will be cremated.
