PINKSTON

Robert A. "Bob" Pinkston, 56, Morrison, died April 8, 2000, at his home.

He was born April 27, 1943, in Dillon, a son of Frank and Marjorie Rard Pinkston. His mother, Marjorie Bowling, survives in Rolla. He was married May 23, 1964, to Carolyn Sue Dodson, who died Feb. 17, 1987.

A resident of Osage County since 1974, he was a farmer and a sheet metal worker for Local 36. He was a 4-H leader for 10 years.

Other survivors include: three daughters, Carla Stephan, Morrison, Tonya Pinkston, Kinderhook, Ill., and Tara Grannemann,  Jefferson City; one brother, Jack Pinkston, Rolla; three sisters, Barbara Brown, St. James, and Roxie Brown and Judy Bullock, both of Rolla; and seven grandchildren.

His stepfather, William Bowling, preceded him in death.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at  Oklahoma Church of Christ. The Rev. David Wallace will officiate. Burial will be in  Oklahoma Church of Christ Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Morton Funeral Home, Linn.

Memorials are suggested to a scholarship fund for the grandchildren.

SCOTT

Edrie Bond Scott, 86, Eugene, died April 8, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born Feb. 21, 1914, near Russellville, a daughter of Alvin and Ollie Payne Bond. She was married Nov. 2, 1935, in Linn, to Wayne Scott, who survives at the home.

She was a member of Dix Road Church of Christ.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Sharon Rose Scott, Eldon; one son, Dr. Robert W. Scott, Springfield; and three granddaughters.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Weber and Sons Funeral Home, Russellville. Brent Newton will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Russellville.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to the Fairhaven Children's Home, Strafford, or a charity of the donor's choice.

SCOTT

Helen Elizabeth Scott, 78,  Jefferson City, died April 8, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born Dec. 1, 1921, in Denver, a daughter of A. Lamont and Clara Jeanette Coates Chase. She was married Jan. 1, 1941, in Denver, to Lloyd W. Scott, who survives at the home.

She attended schools in Denver. She was employed with the Missouri Department of Agriculture and the Missouri House of Representatives. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.

She was past president of the Cole County Republican Women's Club, a member of the National Federation of Republican Women and was a delegate to the state Republican convention. She was a member of Capital Region Medical Center Auxiliary, Senior Connection, Mended Hearts Club, Grotto Social Club and was a member and past president of the X-Club.

Others survivors include: one son, Ronald W. Scott, Vienna, Va.; one daughter, Virginia K. Gaugh, Independence; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

One infant daughter, Judith Anne Scott, died in January 1946.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home. The Rev. Doyle Sager will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church.

STURM

Eloise "Lois" Bernice Sturm, 91,  Jefferson City, died April 9, 2000, at St. Joseph's Home for the Aged.

She was born June 30, 1908, in  Jefferson City, a daughter of Herman J. and Agnes Elizabeth Boeckmann Hopen. She was married Nov. 11, 1929, in St. Louis, to Herman Joseph Sturm, who died Jan. 28, 1960.

She was a bookkeeper with Modern Litho Print Company for 25 years until her retirement in 1976. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and the Daughters of Isabella.

Survivors include: one daughter, Betty Jo Leonard,  Jefferson City; one son, Stephen Joseph Sturm, Pittsburgh; one brother, Anthony Hopen,  Jefferson City; one sister, Louise Norwood, Ellisville; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Two grandchildren preceded her in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Home for the Aged. Msgr. Charles Patterson will officiate.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Home for the Aged.

Memorials are suggested to the Samaritan Center or St. Joseph's Home for the Aged.

Arrangements are under the direction of Houser-Millard Funeral Home.

GUEMMER

Margaret M. Guemmer, 82, Lee's Summit, formerly of  Jefferson City, died April 9, 2000, at Villa St. Francis, Olathe, Kan.

She was born Dec. 18, 1917, in St. Louis, a daughter of Joseph S. and Emma A. Bracksieck Hullihan. She was married May 14, 1936, in St. Louis, to Vernon M. Guemmer, who died March 31, 1986.

She worked for the  Jefferson City Chamber of Commerce for 21 years. She was executive director of the Missouri Association of Independent Insurance Agents from 1955 to 1971. She worked for the Missouri Division of Employment Security for 18 years, retiring in 1984.

Survivors include: one daughter, Ginny Proctor, Lee's Summit; one brother, Joseph C. Hullihan, St. Joseph; one sister, Katherine Schnapp, Webster Groves; three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Thomas Nelson will officiate.

Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Foundation or Hospice of Catholic Charities.

Arrangements are under the direction of Houser-Millard Funeral Home.

PROHASKA

Edith Eleanore Prohaska, 96,  Jefferson City, died April 9, 2000, at Oak Tree Villas.

She was born Sept. 2, 1903, in Price County, Wis., a daughter of Gustave A. and Ida Louise Kenning Worsech. She was married July 5, 1922, in Kennen, Wis., to Albert Prohaska, who died Jan. 6, 1982.

A homemaker, she owned and operated Betty Jane Beauty Shop for more than 30 years. She was a member of the Lutheran church.

Survivors include: two sons, Albert E. Prohaska,  Jefferson City, and Donald A. Prohaska, Cape Coral, Fla.; one daughter, Betty Jane McLain, Burns Lake, British Columbia; two sisters, Mabel Zabel and Lydia Peterson, both of St. Louis Park, Minn.; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

One son, John L. Prohaska, died in 1980.

Graveside services will be in Phillips Cemetery, Phillips, Wis.

Memorials are suggested to Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children.

Arrangements are under the direction of Buescher Memorial Home.

SWANEY

Patricia Elaine Swaney, 48, Jamestown, died April 10, 2000, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Dec. 29, 1951, in Dallas, Texas , a daughter of Ira D. and Ann Louise Davis Wheeler. Her mother, Ann Gennings, survives in Centertown. She was married Sept. 12, 1969, in Juarez, Mexico, to Larry Delbert Swaney, who died Jan. 24, 1997.

She attended Monahans High School, Monahans, Texas , and was a homemaker. She also worked as a letter sorter at the General Mill Facility Post Office, Midland, Texas , for 12 years until her retirement.

She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Other survivors include: one son, Johnnie Anthony Swaney, Centertown; three daughters, Jennifer Lynn Bruce, Wooldridge, Diana Louise Phillips, Vandalia, and Annie Mae Swaney,  Jefferson City; two brothers, Michael Wayne Wheeler, Odessa, Texas , and Timothy Daniel Wheeler, Centertown; one sister, Colleen A. Lee, Odessa; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Buescher Memorial Home. The Rev. Bart Larson will officiate. Burial will be at a later date.

Visitation will be from 6:30-7 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorials are suggested to the Johnnie A. Swaney Trust Fund, in care of Peoples Bank of Jamestown, Mo.

BRITT

Paul Nelson Britt, 90, Columbia, died April 8, 2000, at Boone Retirement Center, Columbia.

He was born June 18, 1909, in Ash Grove, a son of Noah H. and Willa Blythe Britt. He was married to Nora Poston, who preceded him in death. He was married to Nora Baker, who survives in Columbia.

A graduate of Lincoln University High School, he was employed at Kappa Kappa Kappa Fraternity, Columbia. He was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church, Columbia, the Methodist Men's organization and the Steward Board.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Betty Jackson, San Diego, Calif., and Paula Britt, Columbia; two sisters, Pauline Seibert,  Jefferson City, and Loraine Newton, Columbia; and two grandsons.

One daughter preceded him in death.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Luke United Methodist Church. The Rev. C.L. Seibert will officiate. Burial will be in Columbia Cemetery, Columbia.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Warren Funeral Chapel, Columbia.
