COLLINS
Dewey Byron Collins, 83, Jefferson City, died April 10, 2000, at his home.
He was born Feb. 8, 1917, in Paragould, Ark., a son of Ora O. and Gertrude Harmon Collins.
An Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, he was a carpenter. He retired from the Jefferson City Correctional Center in 1982. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Survivors include: two sons, James Collins, O'Fallon, and Gary Collins, Defiance; five daughters, Helen Eaton, St. Ann, Joyce Hicks, O'Fallon, Julia Alvord, Defiance, Lisa Baker, Iberia, and Christine Hill, Imperial; one brother, Ora "Newt" Collins Jr., state of California; 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
One daughter, Patsy Anderson, died in November 1998.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home. The Rev. Lee Todd will officiate. Burial, with military honors, will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Thursday.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
CUSHMAN
Emeline L. Cushman, 93, California, died April 7, 2000, at California Care Center.
She was born Aug. 8, 1906, in Early, Iowa, a daughter of David S. and Erminda H. Nielson Shelmerdine. She was married Aug. 8, 1928, to Roy C. Hudson, who preceded her in death. She was married June 10, 1943, in Dakota City, Neb., to Kenneth W. Cushman, who died May 8, 1993.
She graduated from high school in Sac City, Iowa, and was a homemaker.
A former resident of Boonville, she was a cashier for a sale barn.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
One stepdaughter, Clara Hendrick, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 5 p.m. Sunday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California. Jack Bowlin will officiate. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Oakland Cemetery, Sac City.
Visitation will be from 4-5 p.m. Sunday.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice or California Care Center-Residents Fund, 1106 S. Oak St., California, Mo. 65018.
MORRIS
J.W. Morris, 84, Moberly, died April 11, 2000, at his home.
He was born June 24, 1914, in Clifton Hill, a son of R.E. "Happy" and Grace Freeman Morris.
An Army veteran, he was a farmer. He was a school bus driver for the Westran Public School District, and a member of the First Baptist Church, Clifton Hill.
Survivors include: one sister, Margaret Freeman, Higbee; and two brothers, Edward Morris, Grants, N.M., and Charles Morris, Jefferson City.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Cater Funeral Home, Moberly. Burial will be in Clifton Hill City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today.

TROWER
Golda Louise Trower, 67, Jefferson City, died April 11, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born June 12, 1932, in Tolu, Ky., a daughter of Gordon and Della Belt Winders. She was married Sept. 1, 1956, to the Rev. J. Joseph Trower, who survives.
She received an undergraduate degree from Union College, Barbourville, Ky., and earned a master's degree in music from Evansville College, Evansville, Ind. She taught business education and music at Crittenden County High School and she taught at Granger High School, Granger. She was pianist for Hurricane Methodist Camp Meeting; a member of Salem Presbyterian Church, Hope; a volunteer naturalist at Runge Nature Center with more than 2,000 hours of service; and co-chair of the Wildlifer Quilters at Runge. She served in three pastorates: First Presbyterian Church, Kirksville; Presbyterian Church of Memphis; and Salem Presbyterian Church, Hope.
Other survivors include: two sons, Samuel Trower, New York City, and Stephen Trower, Jefferson City; two daughters, Sara Trower, Jefferson City, and Suzanna Trower, Shawnee, Kan.; one brother, Charles R. Winders, Vallejo, Calif.; one sister, Martha Helen Bischoff, Seguin, Texas ; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Rudolph W. Beard and the Rev. Robert Collins will officiate. Private family burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to Runge Nature Center, c/o the Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation.
WORTHLEY
Bonnie Lee Worthley, 93, Florence, died April 11, 2000, at Golden Age Living Center, Stover.
She was born Aug. 1, 1906, in Glensted, a daughter of Ezra and Lena Hickam Fowler. She was married March 14, 1926, in Florence, to Charles C. Worthley, who died May 17, 1978.
A homemaker, she worked at Pratt and Whitney Defense Plant, Kansas City, during World War II. She was a member of Florence United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: one son, Norman C. Worthley, Florence; one daughter, Lavera Myers, Florence; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
One daughter, Juanita Carver, and one grandson preceded her in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Florence United Methodist Church. The Rev. Gary Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Florence United Methodist Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to Florence United Methodist Church Building Fund.

GEORGE
Elizabeth "Betty" George, 85, Eldon, died April 12, 2000, at Eldon Healthcare.
She was born Oct. 17, 1914, in Eldon, a daughter of James and Della Stubblefield Maples. She was married June 28, 1960, in Louisiana, Mo., to Johnnie F. George, who died Feb. 11, 1980.
She was a member of Eldon Eastern Star and the Rebekah's of Eldon. A homemaker, she was a member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church.
Survivors include: two stepdaughters, Audrey Wagner, Mansfield, Texas , and Evelyn Wagner, St. Louis; one stepson, William L. George, Osage Beach; seven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Dan Duckworth will officiate. Burial will be in Greenmore Memorial Gardens, Barnett.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, with a Miller Rebekah's Lodge 324 service at 7 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the Rocky Mount Baptist Church Scholarship Fund.
HANSEN
Leslie W. Hansen, 79, Versailles, died April 11, 2000, at Good Shepherd Care Center, Versailles.
He was born Feb. 1, 1921, in DeSmet, S.D., a son of Walter and Millie Mae Newsam Hansen. He was married Sept. 11, 1942, to Maude Maxine Croy, who died Dec. 18, 1994.
A carpenter and stone mason, he was a member of First Christian Church, Versailles.
Survivors include: one daughter, Barbara Salzman, Versailles; one sister, Nellie Koch, Versailles; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. Jim Randall will officiate. Burial will be in Versailles Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday.
Memorials are suggested to First Christian Church.
LAMBERT
Kenneth W. Lambert, 77, Osage Beach, died April 11, 2000, at Lake Regional Health Center, Osage Beach.
He was born May 4, 1922, in St. Louis, a son of Walter and Mildred Past Lambert. He was married Sept. 27, 1941, in Union, to Violet L. Much, who survives at the home.
He was a retired automotive service manager from Costello Ford, St. Louis. He was a member of St. Stephen's Church of Christ, St. Louis.
Other survivors include one son, Wayne Lambert, state of Oregon, and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach. The Rev. Keith Graves will officiate.
Visitation will be from 2-4:30 p.m. Saturday.
CARLETON
Margueriete I. Carleton, 77, Sunrise Beach, died April 12, 2000, at Lake Regional Health Center, Osage Beach.
She was born Feb. 23, 1923, in Kansas City, a daughter of Elmer and Mary Kneeland Bevens. She was married July 13, 1940, to Raymond G. Carleton Sr., who survives at the home.
A homemaker, she moved from Overland Park, Kan., to Sunrise Beach in 1982.
Other survivors include: two sons, Raymond G. Carleton Jr., Mission, Kan., and Jim R. Carleton, Olathe, Kan.; two daughters, Carol A. Puckett, Mission, and Sharon K. Schultz, Olathe; two brothers, Dan Bevens, Salem, Ore., and Bob Bevens, Sunrise Beach; two sisters, Ester Mishler and Aileen Johnson, both of Clearwater, Fla.; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Park Lawn Funeral Home, Kansas City. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Greenmore Memorial Gardens, Barnett.
Visitation will be from 3-4 p.m. Saturday at Park Lawn Funeral Home.
