KOLB

James F. Kolb, 83,  Jefferson City, died May 6, 2000, at St. Joseph's Home for the Aged.

He was born April 26, 1917, in  Jefferson City, a son of Jacob B. and Magdalen Markway Kolb. He was married June 29, 1939, in  Jefferson City, to Betty Ann Schell, who survives at the home.

He was a 1936 graduate of St. Peter's High School and attended Josephinum Seminary, Columbus, Ohio. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

He owned and operated Kolb's Korner and Warwick Village. He also managed the Roadway Inn. Before his retirement, he was the acting director and assistant director of the State Agency for Surplus Property of Missouri.

He was a member of the American Legion Roscoe Enloe Post 5 and the VFW. He was elected president of the  Jefferson City Jaycees in 1947 and became state president in 1949. He was a past officer and honorary member of the Sunrise Optimist Club, volunteering at their annual Christmas Tree Lot. He was a member and past officer of Meadow Lake Acres Country Club. He was a member of St. Joseph Cathedral, St. Peter Men's Sodality and the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus.

Other survivors include: two sons, James R. Kolb,  Jefferson City, and Stephen L. Kolb, Kirksville; two daughters, Sandra L. Polster, St. Charles, and Schelly A. Smith,  Jefferson City; five brothers, Cletus Kolb, Paul Kolb, Charles Kolb and Robert Kolb, all of  Jefferson City, and Herbert Kolb, Hot Springs Village, Ark.; one sister, Grace Mary Vignola,  Jefferson City; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Cathedral. Bishop Michael F. McAuliffe, Msgr. Charles Patterson, the Rev. Fred Elskamp, the Rev. Michael Coleman and the Rev. Robert Kraus will officiate. Entombment, with military honors, will be in Resurrection Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Houser-Millard Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph's Home for the Aged or the Alzheimer's Foundation.

MURRAY

Harold S. Murray, 86, Camdenton, died May 6, 2000, at Lake Regional Health Center, Osage Beach.

He was born Sept. 14, 1913, in Joliet, Ill., a son of Henry and Emma Schneider Smith. He was adopted by David G. Murray in 1923. He was married Nov. 6, 1937, in Joliet, to Martha Jane Rowe, who survives at the home.

He was a 1930 graduate of Lockport Township High School, Lockport, Ill., and then attended the University of Illinois-Champaign. He was employed with Texaco, Inc., for 45 years. He worked in the Lockport office, then commuted to the Chicago office from 1960 to 1970. He spent the remaining seven years before retiring in 1975 in Atlanta, Ga.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Lockport, then Kent Memorial Lutheran Church in Sunrise Beach. He was alderman and mayor of Lockport from 1949 to 1953. He was a member of the Lions Club in Lockport and later at in Sunrise Beach.

He lived in Sunrise beach from 1976 until 1991 when he moved to Camdenton.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Kay Stonitsch, Camdenton, and Jane Carter, Lake Ozark; one son, Thomas Murray, Wilmington, Ill.; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

One great-granddaughter preceded him in death.

Services will be at 8 p.m. today at Allee-Reed Funeral Home, Camdenton. The Rev. John Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Joliet.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to Our Saviors Lutheran Church Building Fund.

ROBINSON

Shirley Mae Maxwell Robinson, 75, Eldon, died May 6, 2000.

She was born April 13, 1925, in St. Louis, a daughter of Thomas and Josephine Boyd Mellow.

She was a homemaker and was a member of Eldon VFW Post 2442 Ladies Auxiliary.

Survivors include: one son, Scott Maxwell, Highland, Ill.; one daughter, Janeen Martino, Eldon; her fiancé, Elbridge Catron, Eldon; two adopted daughters, Dee Barger and Betty Cantwell, both of Eldon; one sister, Nancy Diebel, Lake Ozark; and three grandchildren.

One daughter, Leanna Maxwell, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Jasper Hunter will officiate. Private burial will be in Memorial Park, St. Louis.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorials are suggested to the family.

ROBINSON

Virgil Lee "Bud" Robinson, 83, Tebbetts, died May 6, 2000, at Oak View Skilled Care.

He was born Jan. 13, 1917, in Corning, Ark., a son of Charles H. and Lucy May Tharp Robinson. He was married Feb. 4, 1939, in St. Louis, to Frances Mary Heckman, who survives at the home.

He was a World War II veteran of the Army. He owned and operated Circle R/S Ranch, Callaway County, for 20 years. He later was a driver for Beaufort Transfer Company for 10 years.

He was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Holts Summit, the Knights of Columbus, Fraternal Order of Eagles and Capitol City Boot & Saddle Club. He taught horsemanship for local 4H groups and was a past president of Teamsters Local 833 Retirees Club.

Other survivors include: one son, Donald L. Robinson, Lake Ozark; two daughters, Dorothy A. Sieger, Cary, N.C., and Carol S. Baker, Charlotte, N.C.; one brother, Charles Robinson, Hollywood, Calif.; one sister, Lois Govier, St. Louis; six grandchildren; two step-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; and four step-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter Catholic Church. The Rev. Frederick J. Elskamp will officiate. Entombment will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., and from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the St. Andrew Church Building Fund or the Alzheimer's Association.

BULLARD

John Leigh Bullard, 50, Columbia, formerly of Hartsburg, died May 6, 2000, in Columbia.

He was born Jan. 1, 1950, in Fort Walton Beach, Fla., a son of Roy J. and Frances Hogan Bullard.

He worked for Marshall Engineering, Columbia.

Survivors include two brothers, Tom Bullard, Manhattan, Calif., and Jim Bullard, Columbia.

Services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Robinson Funeral Home, Ashland.

Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorials are suggested to the Human Society of Boone County.

BULLARD

Thelma Bullard, 95, Ashland, died May 8, 2000, at Ashland Healthcare.

She was born Jan. 22, 1905, in Boone County, a daughter of Edward E. and Clara B. Daniels Burnham. She was married Jan. 25, 1925, in Ashland, to Raymond Bullard, who died May 10, 1956.

She taught at Oak Grove School in the early 1920s. She was employed as a sales clerk at Pauley's Store and J.C. Penney, and worked as a ward secretary at Boone Hospital before retiring.

She was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church, Ashland.

Survivors include one son, Edward Bullard, Ashland, three grandsons and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Robinson Funeral Home, Ashland. John Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery, Ashland.

Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Wednesday.

Memorials are suggested to New Liberty Cemetery or New Liberty Baptist Church, Palis Nichols Road, Ashland, Mo.

SEREDICH

Thelma I. Seredich, 84, Sunrise Beach, died May 7, 2000, at Lake Regional Health Center, Osage Beach.

She was born May 22, 1915, in Chickasha, Okla., a daughter of Harry and Stella Marcott Hendrixson. She was married to John Seredich, who died in 1983.

A former resident of Kansas City, Kan., she was a member of the American Legion and Chamber of Commerce, Kansas City, Kan.

She owned Her Gift Box and co-owned Partners II, both in Kansas City, Kan. She was a Catholic.

Survivors include: one daughter, Connie O. Modrcin, Sunrise Beach; two brothers, Charles Bernard Lesher, Gravois Mills, and Paul Allen Lesher, Kansas City, Kan.; three sisters, Bettye Jackson, Sunrise Beach, Mary C. Keller, Acworth, Ga., and Margaret Looney, Chickasha; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She will be cremated.

Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. Wednesday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Laurie, with a rosary at 2:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to St. Anthonys Catholic Church, Camdenton.

LOGAN

Robert Logan Jr., 68, Fulton, died May 5, 2000, at his home.

He was born Oct. 8, 1931, in Callaway County, a son of Robert Sr. and Rosie Collier Logan.

He attended Fulton public schools and Lincoln University. He worked for Harbison-Walker Refactories, Fulton, for more than 30 years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Fulton, where he was on the trustee board and treasurer. He was a member of the Calvalier Choir.

Survivors include: two sons, Terry D. Logan, O'Fallon, and Benjamin Forrest Phillips, Fulton; two daughters, Stephanie Yancey, Phoenix, and Karen McNeil, Waterloo, Iowa; two sisters, Josephine Butler, Fulton, and Jeanie Logan, Joplin; two brothers, Edward G. Logan, Fulton, and Nelson Logan,  Jefferson City; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church. The Rev. Clanton W. Dawson Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Southside Cemetery, Fulton.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at Warren Funeral Chapel, Fulton.
