EBRIGHT
Marian J. Ebright, 80, Versailles, died March 27, 1999, at Good Shepherd Care Center, Versailles.
She was born May 30, 1918, in Chicago, a daughter of Fred and Jennie Christopherson Klein. She was married Sept. 15, 1942, to the Rev. Frank Ebright, who survives at the home.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Jefferson City.
Other survivors include: four sons, the Rev. Geoffrey Ebright, Phoenix, Thomas Ebright, Glenview, Ill., Dr. Jack Ebright, Detroit, and Dan Ebright, Springfield; one sister, Evelyn Driskel, Chicago; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Rudolph Beard and the Rev. Cecil Culverhouse will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles.
KIMBROUGH
A. Shelley Kimbrough Jr., 56, Jefferson City, died March 27, 1999, at his home.
He was born Feb. 4, 1943, in Beaumont, Texas , a son of Artie A. Sr. and Quincy Ross Kimbrough. He was married Sept. 4, 1998, in Jefferson City, to Elaine Phillips, who survives at the home.
He graduated from high school in Central, Texas , before serving in the Air Force during the Vietnam War.
A resident of the Jefferson City area for the past 20 years, he was employed by the Missouri Department of Health as a reviewer in the Certificate of Need program.
Other survivors include: two sons, A. Shelley Kimbrough III, Bellville, Ohio, and William J. Kimbrough, Jefferson City; one daughter, Melissa Schnieders, of the home; one sister, Carol G. Mathis, Pahrump, Nev.; one brother, John A. Kimbrough, Pahrump; and four grandchildren.
A private family memorial service will be conducted.
Arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
NEWBY
Frank A. Newby, 47, Hazelwood, formerly of Eldon, died March 27, 1999, at DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton.
He was born Feb. 16, 1952, a son of Albert W. and Mary Zaun Newby. His father and stepmother, Betty Newby, survive in Eldon.
A graduate of Eldon High School, he had been employed by the Missouri Highway Patrol as a motor vehicle inspector since 1974.
He was a member of the Bridgeton Optimist Club and First Christian Church of Eldon.
Other survivors include his sister, Carol McLeane, Springfield.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Walter D. Simpson will officiate. Burial will be in Eldon City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday.
Memorials are suggested to the Spinal Cord Injury Fund.
THOMAS
Virginia L. Thomas, 85, Tipton, died March 18, 1999, in Rockport, Texas , while on vacation.
She was born Jan. 20, 1914, in Tipton, a daughter of Roy J. and Gertrude V. Weyland Finley. She was married in 1936 to C.W. Thomas, who died May 26, 1980.
She was a member of the Tipton United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Church Women's Group and the Tipton Park Board. She was a 50-year member of Tipton Chapter 33 Order of the Eastern Star, for which she served as Worthy Matron.
She was a charter member and past president of the Grow and Glow Garden Club of Tipton and past president of the Federated Garden Clubs of Missouri Inc. She was a Flower Show School instructor and master judge of the National Council of State Garden Clubs. She also served as superintendent of the Floriculture Building at the Missouri State Fair.
Survivors include: one brother, Ben Finley, Jefferson City; and one sister, Mardell Smith, Bend, Ore.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Tipton Presbyterian Church. The Rev. J.D. Cooper will officiate. Burial will be in Tipton Masonic Cemetery.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the Tipton Garden Club.

YEAST
Alyce P. Yeast, 82, Kansas City, formerly of Jefferson City, died March 27, 1999, at Miller County Nursing Home, Tuscumbia.
She was born Jan. 27, 1917, in Russellville, a daughter of Enos and Emma Zink Gordon. She was married in July 1943, in Kansas City, to Carroll Yeast, who died in August 1974.
She attended Valley Home School near Russellville and was a member of Scrivner Church of Christ in Russellville. She was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW in Englewood, Fla.
Survivors include: one sister, Arnelia Amos, Russellville; and three brothers, Wilbur Gordon, Kansas City, Don Gordon, Sedalia, and Jack Gordon, Garnett, Kan.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Weber and Sons Funeral Home, Russellville. Tom Crain will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Eugene.
Visitation will be from 9:30-11 a.m. Monday.
BANNISTER
Steven Paul Bannister, 53, Gravois Mills, died March 28, 1999, at his home.
He was born June 5, 1945, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of James and Anna Roe Bannister. He was married Dec. 27, 1969, in Blue Springs, to Sandra Cooper, who survives at the home.
A plumber, he lived in the Kansas City area until moving to the Lake of the Ozarks area two years ago. He attended Walk on the Water Faith Church.
Other survivors include: two sons, Eddie Bannister, Kansas City, Kan., and Paul Bannister, Blue Springs; two daughters, Bobbie Jo Harms, Oak Grove, and Becky McGuire, Linn Creek; two brothers, James Bannister, Oak Grove, and Warren Bannister, Korea; one half brother; two sisters, Cece Wakefield, Oak Grove, and Charity Bannister, state of Arizona; one half sister; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Allee-Reed Funeral Home, Camdenton. The Rev. John Cooper will officiate. Burial will be in Conway Cemetery, Osage Beach.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.

BACKES
Anita A. Backes, 81, Frankenstein, died March 28, 1999, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born April 18, 1917, in Loose Creek, a daughter of Peter and Agnes Ehren Boessen. She was married Aug. 21, 1940, in Loose Creek, to Paul P. Backes, who died Oct. 30, 1990.
She was a homemaker and lifetime resident of Osage County.
She was a member of Our Lady of Help Church, Frankenstein, and the Altar Society.
Survivors include: four sons, Daniel Backes, John Backes, Ronald Backes and Richard Backes, all of Frankenstein; three daughters, Arlene Heins, Carrollton, Marie Huesgen, St. Louis, and Nancy Samson, Frankenstein; one sister, Marilyn Backes, Frankenstein; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Help Church. The Rev. Pete Walsh will officiate. Burial will be in Garden of Gethsemane.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Morton Funeral Home, Linn, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to St. Mary's School.
BOLLAND
Services were Wednesday for Marie E. Bolland, 100, Jefferson City, who died March 21, 1999, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility.
She was born Feb. 2, 1899, in St. Louis. She was married to John B. Bolland, who preceded her in death.
Burial was in Bellefontaine Cemetery, St. Louis.
Arrangements were under the direction of Lupton Chapel, St. Louis.
CLOSE
Kathryn Martinez Close, 62, Jefferson City, died March 27, 1999, at her home.
She was born Nov. 27, 1936, in Mogote, Colo., a daughter of Frank and Jemma Bellino Martinez.
She graduated from high school in1954 in Marysville, Kan. She received a master's degree in gerentology from Baylor University, Waco, Texas .
A resident of the Jefferson City area for the last 18 months, she was a registered nurse at several U.S. Veterans Administration hospitals.
Survivors include: three daughters, Cristie Hubbard, Kissimmee, Fla., Jennie Close, Maricopa, Ariz., and Bonnie Reznicek, Jefferson City; two brothers, Ed Martinez, Great Bend, Kan., and Kenneth Martinez, Lawrence, Kan.; one sister, Nedra Clark, Kapolei, Hawaii; and four grandchildren.
Services will be private.
Memorials are suggested to The American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
CURREY
Mary Ellen Currey, 80, Tipton, died March 26, 1999, at her home.
She was born March 6, 1919, in Phon, Mont., a daughter of Arthur and Mary Zimmeran Viall. She was married Oct. 31, 1941, in Miles City, Mont., to T. George Currey, who died Dec. 3, 1977.
She was a resident of Miles City until 1975, when she moved to the Tipton-Fortuna area. She was a rancher and also worked in home health care. She was a member of Fortuna Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one son, Scott Currey, Ramona, Calif.; two daughters, Dee Ann Currey and Jolee K. Martens, both of Tipton; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Meisenheimer-Griswold Funeral Home, Tipton. The Rev. J.D. Cooper will officiate. Burial will be in Akinsville Cemetery, Fortuna.
Visitation will be from 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday.
Memorials are suggested to Akinsville Cemetery.
