CLINE
Clara M. Cline, 83, Lupus, died May 21, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born Aug. 6, 1916, in Prairie Home, a daughter of Carl F. and Margaret Josephine Karm Fischer. She was married March 18, 1937, in Overton, to James "Bob" Cline, who died Aug. 12, 1990.
She attended Highland School in Cooper County and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Lupus Community Club and Lupus Baptist Church, where she attended Sunday School.
Survivors include: two sons, Gary Cline, Jamestown, and Audie Cline, Jefferson City; five daughters, Delores Ash, Wooldridge, Nana Shields and Kathy Case, both of California, Janet Howard, Cabool, and Jewell Harbour, Jamestown; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
One daughter, Roberta Fricke, died Sept. 21, 1999.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California. The Rev. Ivan Dameron and the Rev. Norman Potter will officiate. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery, Jamestown.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday.

SCHWEBEL
Barbara Irene Schwebel, 79, Gravois Mills, died Friday, May 19, 2000, near Richland from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born March 17, 1921, in Tuscumbia, a daughter of Joseph I. and Gladys Irene Nixdorf Crismon. She was married Dec. 14, 1947, to William Schwebel, who died Aug. 19, 1997.
She was a member of West Lake Christian Church, Laurie, Sun City Christian Church, Sun City, Ariz., and the Missouri State Historical Society. She worked in the clerical department for the Missouri Pacific Railroad.
Survivors include: one son, Richard Schwebel, Gravois Mills; one brother, Kenneth Crismon, Eldon; two sisters, Jo Anne Lynch, Stockton, Calif., and Virginia Nelson, Stover.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at West Lake Christian Church, Laurie. The Rev. Jack Daniel will officiate. Cremation will follow.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to West Lake Christian Church, 936 Highway O, Laurie, Mo. 65037.
Arrangements are under the direction of Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Laurie.
SCHWEBEL
Fred G. Schwebel, 86, Laurie, died May 19, 2000, near Stoutland from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born Sept. 2, 1913, in St. Louis, a son of Frederick W. and Myrtle M. Murray Schwebel. He was married in August 1951 to Maxine McPherson, who died Sept. 4, 1987.
An Air Force veteran, he worked for the railroad and American Refrigerated Transit Company, St. Louis. He was a member of Centenary Methodist Church, St. Louis. He had lived in Brentwood.
Survivors include one sister, Dorothy Handley, Oklahoma City.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Bopp Funeral Home, St. Louis. Burial will be in Bellefontaine Cemetery, St. Louis.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Bopp Funeral Home.
Local arrangements are under the direction of Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Laurie.
THORNQUIST
Christopher Thornquist, 49, Gravois Mills, died May 21, 2000, at Lake Regional Health Center, Osage Beach.
He was born Aug. 8, 1950. His mother, Toni Pearson, survives in Tampa, Fla. He was married to Sallie Wickens, who survives.
A graduate of Raytown South High School, he attended the University of Missouri-Columbia. He was a carpenter and an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Other survivors include one half brother, John Paul Pearson, Tampa, and one half sister, Sissy Hernandez, Seffner, Fla.
His stepparents, Mann and Doris Thornquist, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Laurie. Cremation will follow.
Visitation will be from 10-11:30 a.m. Thursday.
Memorials are suggested to Disabled American Veterans.
SHIPMAN
John Stewart Shipman, 69, Delavan, Wis., formerly of Fulton, died May 19, 2000.
He was born May 10, 1931, in Fulton, a son of Ernest O. and Ivy Lee Stewart Shipman. He was married in 1949 to Norma Collins, who died in 1980. He was married in 1984 to Germaine Schiesl Hensey, who survives at the home.
A Navy veteran, he worked 16 years at the Louisiana School for the Deaf as a child care counselor, assistant dean, teacher and coach. After completing his master's degree in 1969, he became principal of the Virginia School for the Deaf. He later was named superintendent of the Wisconsin School for the Deaf, where he served from 1974 until his retirement in 1992.
He was president of the Delavan Lions Club in 1982 and served on the Delavan Police and Fire Commission for 20 years. He recently was recognized by the mayor of Delavan for his many years of community service. He also owned and operated an antique and collectibles store in Delavan.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Denese Helgeland, Wautoma, Wis., and Renee Shipman, Belle Chasse, La.; one son, Kevin Shipman, San Francisco; two stepdaughters, Joan Hansen, Estes Park, Colo., and Julie Hensey, Madison, Wis.; one stepson, John Hansen, Verona, Wis.; one brother, Eldon Shipman, Fulton; three grandchildren and six step grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton. The Rev. Stephen Sowder will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Fulton.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Thursday.
Memorials are suggested to the Student Benefit Fund at the Wisconsin School for the Deaf.
ROBERTSON
Newton J. Robertson, 80, Sycamore Hills, died May 22, 2000, in St. Louis.
He was born Nov. 18, 1919, in Russellville, a son of Charles J. and Pearl Robertson. He was married to Leona Campbell, who survives in Sycamore Hills.
He was a retired carpenter for Mid-States Construction. He was a veteran.
Other survivors include: three sons, Davis A. Robertson, Overland, Jerry L. Robertson, Sedalia, and Bruce A. Robertson, Fulton; one daughter, Dana L. Robertson, Columbia; 11 brothers and sisters and 10 grandchildren.
Services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at Baumann Colonial Chapel, Overland. The Rev. Keith D. Snyder will officiate. Burial will be in Enloe Cemetery, Russellville.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church of St. John, St. John.
PARSONS
Services were today for Agnes Irene Parsons, 93, Monett, who died May 20, 2000, at Monett Health Care Center.
She was born April 8, 1907, in Linn County, a daughter of Frank and Nora Miller Singleton. She was married Aug. 31, 1929, in Macomb, Ill., to Joseph Howard Parsons, who died March 28, 1970.
She retired as a nurse's aide at St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield. She was a member of the Navy Mothers Club, Senior Citizens of Springfield, and Walnut Street Christian Church, Springfield.
Survivors include: two sons, Ralph Parsons, Monett, and Jackson Parsons, Charleston, W.Va.; one daughter, Regina Langley, Holts Summit; nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were in Oakwood Cemetery, Macomb. The Rev. Chris Williams officiated.
Memorials were suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
Arrangements were under the direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett.
OWENS
Kathy S. Landers Owens, 42, Jefferson City, died May 22, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born May 23, 1957, in Jefferson City, a daughter of Arthur D. and Anna E. Bruns Landers. Her father and stepmother, Arthur D. and Clara Mae Landers, survive in Jefferson City. She was married June 25, 1979, in Etterville, to Terry Owens, who survives.
A 1975 graduate of Jefferson City High School, she worked for Capital Region Medical Center from 1989 to 1993. She had worked for Missouri Consolidated Health Care Plan since 1993. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Shannon A. Owens, Jefferson City; one son, Travis J. Owens, Jefferson City; one sister, Linda Kelley, Jefferson City; three brothers, Danny Landers, Ron Landers and Larry Landers, all of Holts Summit; three stepbrothers, Charles Armstrong, Gary Armstrong and Steve Armstrong, all of Holts Summit; one stepsister, Janet Johnson, Jefferson City; and maternal grandmother, Cecelia Bruns, Bonnots Mill.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter's Catholic Church. The Rev. Donald W. Lammers will officiate. Entombment will be in the mausoleum at Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

NEVINS
Willard Taylor Nevins, 76, Jefferson City, died May 20, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born Feb. 22, 1924, in Jefferson City, a son of James and Elsie Farris Nevins. He was married March 27, 1949, to Jewell Faye Martin, who survives.
A Navy veteran of World War II, he worked as a self-employed painter in Callaway and Cole counties. He was retired.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Maupin Funeral Home, Fulton. Bruce Williamson will officiate. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.
