HUMPHREY
Gladys M. Humphrey, 83, Marshfield, died May 21, 2000, at St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield.
She was born April 9, 1917, in Iberia, a daughter of Arthur and Lucy Bacon Jones. She was married Aug. 7, 1942, to Harold H. Humphrey, who died April 26, 1979.
She taught school for almost 35 years in the states of California and Missouri, and in Anchorage, Alaska. A resident of Branson from 1972 to 1993, she was a member of Branson Bible Church. She moved to Marshfield in 1993.
Survivors include: one son, Roger Humphrey, Marshfield; one daughter, Gwen Boyd, Omaha, Neb.; one brother, Farris Jones, Dixon; one sister, Clarice Whitaker, Dixon; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia. The Rev. Manuel Seaton will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, near Iberia.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials are suggested to the AWANA Program at Burnett Church, Dixon.
HECKMAN
Wilfred Peter Heckman, 62, Jefferson City, died May 22, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born April 2, 1938, in Koeltztown, a son of William G. and Regina Josephine Reinsch Heckman. His mother survives in Westphalia. He was married Aug. 26, 1961, in Jefferson City, to Virginia Marie "Gini" Strope, who survives at the home.
A 1957 graduate of Fatima High School, he owned and operated Central Missouri Adjustment Service for more than 30 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Cathedral and chairman of its finance committee. He founded the West end Investment Club and was president of the West Gate Mixers Bowling League. He was active in the Jefferson City Chamber of Commerce. He was past president of the Missouri Collectors Association and the St. Joseph Men's Association.
Other survivors include: three daughters, Teri Burchett, Overland Park, Kan., and Sandy Dorge and Abby Heckman, both of Jefferson City; one son, Dennis Heckman, Jefferson City; three sisters, Margaret Brune, Meta, Cathy Smith, Koeltztown, and Bea Heckman, Jefferson City; one brother, Bill Heckman, Koeltztown; and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Cathedral. The Rev. Frederick J. Elskamp and the Rev. Daniel J. Merz will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Cathedral.
SCOTT
Helen Gertrude Scott, 88, Jefferson City, died May 22, 2000, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Feb. 13, 1912, in New Florence, a daughter of Turner and Annie Thomas Clark. She was married in 1941 in New Florence to Chauncy Cleve Scott, who died in January 1985.
A housekeeper, cook, and later a home health aide, she was a member of Quinn Chapel AME Church.
Survivors include: one daughter, Lillian Kemp, Jefferson City; two sons, Larry Scott Sr., California, and Glenn Scott, Jefferson City; six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
One infant son, Chauncy Cleve Scott Jr., preceded her in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Quinn Chapel AME Church. The Rev. Eva Duncan will officiate. Burial will be in Longview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to the Helen Scott Memorial Fund.
LONG
Hazel M. Long, 65, Sedalia, formerly of Stover, died May 22, 2000, at her home.
She was born June 14, 1934, in Sturgeon, a daughter of John A. and Katherine Haley Scarbrough Adkissen. She was married Oct. 22, 1971, in Stover, to Dennis L. Long, who died Feb. 7, 1992.
A homemaker, she was a member of Stover United Methodist Church. She moved to Sedalia from Stover in 1987.
Survivors include: two sons, John Long, Cole Camp, and Scott Long, Sedalia; one half brother, James Richardson, Deepwater; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Stover United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Stover Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to Bothwell Hospice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Stover.
KLEBBA
LeRoy Theodore Klebba, 61, Westphalia, died May 23, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born July 10, 1938, in Gascondy, a son of Anthony J. and Pauline Frances Schulte Klebba. His mother survives in Taos. He was married May 28, 1960, in Westphalia, to Mary Ann Crede, who survives at the home.
An Army veteran, he owned and operated the Westphalia Inn from 1975 to 1985. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia.
Other survivors include; one sister, LaVerne Twehous, Taos; and two brothers, Roger Klebba, Taos, and Marvin Klebba, Osage City.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia. The Rev. Robert A. Kurwicki will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Westphalia.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, Westphalia, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia.
FRY
Frieda Robinson Fry, 88, Victor, Mont., formerly of Eldon, died May 21, 2000, at her home.
She was born Nov. 13, 1911, in Linn Creek, a daughter of Bertie and Lena Davis Robinson. She was married Nov. 15, 1929, to Alphonse Lambert, who died in 1958. She was married to Lawrence Fry, who died in 1993.
She was educated in Eldon. A former resident of New York, she had lived in Victor for 10 years.
Survivors include: two daughters, Phyllis Lambert and Margaret "Peggy" Lambert Riitano, both of Victor; one son, Don Lambert, Milborn, Fla.; one sister, Phyllis Clayton, Lake Ozark; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services were Tuesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Stevensville, Mont. The Rev. Stephen Tallman officiated.
Additional services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Walter D. Simpson will officiate. Burial will be in Boltz Cemetery, Kaiser.
Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Thursday.
DEARMAN
Luvenia Vernece Dearman, 68, Purvis, Miss., died May 23, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born May 24, 1931, in Baxterville, Miss., a daughter of Mark and Lucretia Irene Parker Lowe. Her mother survives in Baxterville. She was married Aug. 13, 1950, in Jackson, Miss., to James E. Musgrove Jr., who preceded her in death. She was married March 30, 1982, in Lumberton, Miss., to Billy Dearman, who died June 8, 1996.
A 1950 graduate of Lumberton High School, she was employed as a licensed practical nurse in the state of Texas . She then worked for Citizens Hospital, Lumberton, for eight years.
She was a member of Caney Baptist Church, Baxterville.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Charlotte Sizemore, Jefferson City, and Susan Gomez, Baxterville; two sisters, Lavada Phillips, Purvis, and Jolene Chambliss, Baxterville; three brothers, Lionell Lowe Sr. and James Albert Lowe, both of Baxterville, and Shirley Ray Lowe, Pea Ridge, Miss.; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Caney Baptist Church. The Rev. Roger Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Caney Cemetery, Baxterville.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Friday at Moore Funeral Home, Purvis.
Memorials are suggested to the American Alzheimer's Association.

COLLINS
Fred Collins, 82, Camdenton, died May 22, 2000, at Windsor Estate Nursing Home, Camdenton.
He was born Jan. 18, 1918, in Kansas City, Kan., a son of Williamson L. Jr. and Lillian Kock Collins. He was married April 13, 1965, in Oklahoma, to Oneita Leap, who died April 16, 2000.
An Army veteran of World War II, he was a past member of the Camdenton VFW. He worked as a medical assistant for doctors in Camdenton.
Survivors include: two daughters, Debbie Davenport, Eldon, and Tena McDowell, Camdenton; and two sisters, Mary Groves, Camdenton, and Elizabeth Huddleston, Linn Creek.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton. Billie Huddleston will officiate. Burial will be in Freedom Cemetery, Linn Creek.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.
BEDSWORTH
Mary Frances Myers Bedsworth, 73, Fulton, died May 22, 2000, at Pin Oaks Nursing Center, Mexico.
She was born July 13, 1926, in Calwood, a daughter of James L. and Della Shaon Myers. She was married in February 1956 to Billy S. Bedsworth, who preceded her in death.
She was an attendant at Fulton State Hospital, and also worked at the Stride Rite Shoe Factory before retiring. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one daughter, Shirley Coots, New Bloomfield; one son, Clark Bedsworth, New Bloomfield; one brother, Bobby Salmons, Benton City; two sisters, Evelyn Hughes, Fulton, and Ruby Siverdecker, Bloomington, Ill.; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Three great-grandchildren preceded her in death.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Guthrie Cemetery, Guthrie. Bruce Williamson will officiate.
