WESTMORELAND
Mellie B. Westmoreland, 88, Holts Summit, died May 22, 2000, at St. Joseph's Home for the Aged.
Arrangements are incomplete at Buescher Memorial Home.
ISOM
Dylan Thomas Isom, infant son of Jewell and Lori Boyd Isom, Holts Summit, was stillborn May 20, 2000, at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia.
His parents survive at the home.
Other survivors include: three brothers, Tristan Isom, Dalton Isom and Zachary Isom, all of the home; maternal grandparents, Rex and Mary Boyd, Jefferson City; paternal grandmother, Chaveewan Isom, Fulton; and maternal great-grandparents, Joe Schwarzer and Darryl and Betty Boyd, all of Jefferson City.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home. The Rev. Don Anders will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Dylan Thomas Isom Memorial Fund.
SAVAGE
Mary E. Savage, 77, Osage Beach, died May 23, 2000, at Marymount Manor, Eureka.
She was born April 13, 1923, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, a daughter of Paul and Inez Briden Kilborn. She was married Jan. 28, 1951, in Cedar Rapids, to Bill Savage, who died Aug. 10, 1982.
She co-owned and co-operated Bill and Mary's, Lake Ozark, for more than 20 years. She was a member of Harper Chapel United Methodist Church, Osage Beach, and the United Methodist Women.
Survivors include: four daughters, Mary Jo Keith, Woldwood, Barbara Fulton and Renae Arena, both of Charlotte, N.C., and Sharon Jones, Henderson, Nev.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Harper Chapel United Methodist Church. The Rev. Chris Oetting will officiate. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Springfield National Cemetery, Springfield.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach.
SCHROER
Nellie C. Schroer, 95, Jefferson City, died May 24, 2000, at St. Joseph's Home for the Aged.
She was born July 14, 1904, in Cole County, a daughter of Henry A. and Bertha Clarenbach Schroer.
She was a lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area. A graduate of Jefferson City High School, she received a bachelor's degree in education from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She was employed as a teacher in the Jefferson City School District for 42 years, teaching fifth grade at Moreau Heights Elementary School and sixth grade at West Elementary School.
She was a member of Central United Church of Christ and the Retired Teachers Association, and a life member of the Jefferson City Art Club. She was a charter member of the Missouri Alpha Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa Teachers Sorority, the Harmony Extension Club and the Nighten Gals China Painters.
She is survived by nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. Stephen Buchholz will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Memorials are suggested to Central United Church of Christ.
AMBLER
Alice L. Ambler, 86, Jefferson City, died May 24, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 25, 1913, in Jay County, Ind., a daughter of Roy and Inez Renner Ambler.
A graduate of St. Ann High School, St. Ann, she worked as an accountant for Weil Clothing Company, St. Louis, and as the controller for Midland Optical Company, St. Louis. She had lived in the Jefferson City area since 1978.
Survivors include one son, E. John Ambler, Jefferson City, and one grandson.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. R. William Peckman will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday.
Memorials are suggested to Maries Manor Rehabilitation and Care Center, Vienna.
BURNAM
Franklin Laverne Burnam, 67, Holts Summit, died May 24, 2000, at Jefferson City Manor Care.
He was born Oct. 28, 1932, in Callao, a son of Ollie L. and Ola Bea Corey Burnam. He was married Dec. 6, 1975, in Jefferson City, to Dolores Tence McConnell, who died June 26, 1984.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was in the Army for 23 years, retiring as a master sergeant. He earned an associate of arts degree in heating and air-conditioning from Linn Technical College and worked at Tan-Tar-A.
Survivors include: one daughter, Rose Mary Cole, Duvall, Wash.; four sisters, Elsie Tuttle, Blue Springs, Juanita Tuttle, Pasadena, Texas , and Wanda Gosney and Ethelyn Day, both of Moberly; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
One daughter, Kathy Jordan, died May 12, 2000.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald L. Lammers will officiate. Burial, with military honors, will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Sunday.
Memorials are suggested to the Hospice of Jefferson City & Mid-Missouri.
McKEE
Dorothy M. McKee, 72, Jefferson City, died May 25, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born Dec. 2, 1927, in Elmer, a daughter of Clarence and Amy Eitel Isaacson. She was married Oct. 29, 1949, in Little Rock, Ark., to James I. McKee, who died March 25, 1997.
A lifelong resident of Central Missouri, she graduated from Elmer High School, Elmer.
She was employed as business manager with First Equity Life Insurance Co. for 20 years until her retirement in 1989.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include: two sisters, Pearl Upschulte and Nellie Sanders, both of Jefferson City; and one brother, Phillip Isaacson, Holts Summit.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. Jerome Brownlee will officiate. Burial will be in Dick Lawson Cemetery, near Iberia.
Visitation will be from noon-1 p.m. Saturday.
NEVINS
Services were Wednesday for Willard Taylor Nevins, 76, Jefferson City, who died May 20, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born Feb. 22, 1924, in Jefferson City, a son of James and Elsie Farris Nevins. He was married March 27, 1949, to Jewell Faye Martin, who survives.
A Navy veteran of World War II, he worked as a self-employed painter in Callaway and Cole counties. A former Fulton resident, he was retired.
Other survivors include two sons, Jerry Nevins and Bruce Nevins, both of Jefferson City, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were at Maupin Funeral Home, Fulton. Bruce Williamson officiated. Burial was in Callaway Memorial Gardens.
MUMFORD
Virgie "Rea" Mumford, 76, St. Charles, died May 26, 2000, at St. Joseph Health Center, St. Charles.
He was born May 6, 1924, in St. Albans, a son of George and Pearl Brown. She was married to Jack Mumford, who survives in St. Charles.
She was a homemaker.
Other survivors include: one son, Larry D. Mumford, St. Charles; four daughters, Deborah Schnedler, Russellville, Karen Montgomery, St. Charles, Susan Milburn, Florissant, and Terry Gorman, O'Fallon; two brothers, William Brown and Gil Brown, both of St. Charles; one sister, Virginia Kampmann, St. Charles; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Baue Chapel, St. Charles. Burial will be in St. Charles Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday.
Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
SINGER
Bessie Eleanor Singer, 90, Tipton, died May 25, 2000, at Tipton Manor.
She was born Feb. 19, 1910, in California, a daughter of Millard and Letha Allee Milburn. She was married in 1929 to John Henry Singer, who died in 1971.
She worked as a matron at the Missouri Women's Prison for 12 years and was a member of Latham Christian Church.
Survivors include: two sons, John Allen Singer, Tipton, and David Kevin Singer, Reading, Pa.; two grandsons and five great-grandsons.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Meisenheimer-Griswold Funeral Home, Tipton. The Rev. Robert Sneller and the Rev. Randy Fischer will officiate. Burial will be in Tipton Masonic Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Sunday.
