GERLT
Lorena T.M. Gerlt, 88, Stover, died March 27, 1999, at Bothwell Regional Health Center, Sedalia.
She was born April 22, 1910, in Stover, a daughter of Chris and Cathrine Monsess Gerlt.
She worked as a clerk at Kipp's Store, Stover, for 35 years. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Stover.
She is survived by one sister, Waneta Marriott, Stover.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Christ Lutheran Church. The Rev. Russell E. Saltzman will officiate. Burial will be in Stover Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles.
GRESHAM
Charles L. Gresham, 87, Camdenton, died March 26, 1999, at Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital, Columbia.
He was born Dec. 21, 1911, in Ellsinore, a son of Anthony and Frances Clayton Gresham.
A Camdenton resident for the past six years, he worked in the logging industry before retiring. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include: three sons, Charles Gresham and Mitchel Gresham, both of Kansas City, and Mike Gresham, Camdenton; four daughters, Frances Isenbletter, Collins, Shirley Tatman and Judy Costello, both of Wichita, Kan., and Julie Willems, Kansas City; 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, Kan.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. today at Allee-Reed Funeral Home, Camdenton.
HUTCHISON
Joseph B. Hutchison Jr., 78, Osage Beach, died March 26, 1999, at Lake of the Ozarks General Hospital, Osage Beach.
He was born May 13, 1920, in St. Louis, a son of Joseph B. Sr. and Theresa L. Hark Hutchison. He was married to Florence Grimm, who preceded him in death. He was married to Juanita Pevril, who survives at the home.
He was employed as a salesman for the Shoe Factory Supply Store, St. Louis, for more than 40 years. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Lake Ozark, and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Lake Ozark.
Other survivors include: four sons, Joe Martin Hutchison, San Francisco, Gary Hutchison, Denver, and Stephen Hutchison and John Hutchison, both of St. Louis; one daughter, Beth Kempf, Austin, Texas ; three step-sons, Steven Perkins, Florissant, Marvin Wayne Perkins, O'Fallon, and Joe Perkins, St. Louis; three brothers, Bob Hutchison, Chicago, and Ray Hutchison and the Rev. Bill Hutchison, both of St. Louis; two sisters, Rita Hutchison and Louise Hutchison, both of St. Louis; eight grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. The Rev. John Long will officiate.
The remains were donated to medical science.
Memorials are suggested to Masses or the Our Lady of the Lake Building fund.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach.
NICHOLS
Norman E. Nichols, 56, Jefferson City, died March 27, 1999, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born June 1, 1942, in Jefferson City, the son of Norman E. Sr. and Belvia Helton Nichols. His stepfather and stepmother, Leslie and Jessie Holliday, survive in Holts Summit
A lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area, he attended Jefferson City public schools. He was a member of the Laborers Local 833 and was employed by the Mertens Minimart for many years until his retirement in 1994.
Survivors include: his fiancee, Jean Burton, Jefferson City; two daughters, Lisa Vaught and Kimberlee Sims, both of Jefferson City; one brother, Robert Nichols, Holts Summit; one sister, Judy Holliday, Holts Summit; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. Danny Nichols will officiate.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday.
Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
RIDDLE
Norman R. "Randy" Riddle, 51, Jefferson City, died March 26, 1999, at his home.
He was born March 18, 1948, in Marshall, a son of Donald and Nadine Wood Riddle. His parents survive in Slater. He was married Aug. 31, 1985, in Westphalia, to Karen Page, who survives.
A former resident of Slater, he was chief of police for the city of Slater. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and had been employed as a sergeant at the Central Missouri Correctional Center since 1986.
He was a member of the Slater Presbyterian Church and attended New Prospect Baptist Church, near Slater. He was a member of Wyman S. Basinger Memorial Post 35, VFW, and Roscoe Enloe Post 5, American Legion.
Other survivors include: three daughters, Jennifer Wilson, Huntsville, and Becky Riddle and Nicole Riddle, both of Slater; one son, Shannon Riddle, Huntsville; one sister, Lynda Davis, Moberly; and one granddaughter.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at New Prospect Baptist Church. The Rev. Tommy Barrett will officiate. Burial, with military honors, will be in High Hill Cemetery, Slater.
Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m. today at Weiker Funeral Home, Slater.
Memorials are suggested to New Prospect Baptist Church or the Riddle Children's Trust Fund.
SCHEIDEGGER
Maybelle D. Scheidegger, 72, Morrison, died March 28, 1999, at Frene Valley Health Care Center, Hermann.
She was born May 10, 1926, in Cooper Hill, a daughter of Herman and Alice Cramer Ocheskey.
A lifelong area resident, she attended school in Cooper Hill. She was employed at International Shoe Co., Hermann, and owned and operated Elmer's Place on Highway J for more than 20 years until her retirement.
She was a member of St. James United Church of Christ, Morrison.
Survivors include: one son, Alan Rector, Jefferson City; one brother, Virgil Ocheskey, Bonnots Mill; three sisters, Dorothy Hackmann and Shirley Epple, both of Hermann, and Colleen Byrd, New Haven; and three granddaughters.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Morton Funeral Home, Chamois. The Rev. Bruce Edwards will officiate. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery, Morrison.
Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimers Association.
VOSS
Arthur M. "Art" Voss, 81, Linn, died March 28, 1999, at Green Meadows Health Care Center, Linn.
He was born Sept. 6, 1917, in Osage County, a son of Gerhard and Gertrude Boes Voss. He was married May 21, 1946, in Linn, to Alice M. Balkenbusch, who survives at the home.
A lifelong farmer, he worked 20 years for DeLong's Inc. as a maintenance supervisor. He worked three years for the Conservation Commission at Ben Branch Lake and for six years at the Osage County Country Club, Linn.
He was a member of St. George Church, Linn, Knights of Columbus, Western Catholic Union, Men's Holy Name Sodality and AA Support Group.
Other survivors include: three sons, Terry Voss, Gladstone, Allen Voss, Boonville, and Harvey Voss, Linn; three daughters, Gerrie Madsen, Jefferson City, and Kathy Branson and Arlene Vogel, both of Linn; two sisters, Janet Fincher and Mary Wilson, both of Linn; 19 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
One son, Ronald G. Voss, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. George Church. The Rev. Paul Hartley and the Rev. Brendan Doyle will officiate. Burial will be in St. George Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Morton Funeral Home, Linn, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the St. George Activity Center.
WILLIAMS
Jack E. Williams, 75, Camdenton, died March 27, 1999, from injuries received in a motorcycle accident.
He was born Feb. 7, 1924, in Bonner Springs, Kan., the son of William P. and Fern Moore Williams. He was married July 3, 1947, in Republic, Kan., to Betty L. Roberts, who preceded him in death. He was married Dec. 30, 1971, to Barbara Byrd, who died Sept. 27, 1987.
He lived in Camdenton the past 18 years. He served in the Air Force for 20 years, retiring in 1968. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include: three daughters, Jacklen LaRaine Mattivi and Sherree Gae Womack, both of Kansas City, and Michelle R. Pope, Kearney; one sister, Gail Mackey, Kansas City; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services and the burial will be private.
Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Reed Funeral Home, Camdenton.
ADAMS
Nina L. Adams, 72, Versailles, died March 28, 1999, at her home.
She was born Jan. 2, 1927, in Leeton, a daughter of Joseph H. and Maudie Jane Parrack Ash. She was married July 6, 1946, in Leavenworth, Kan., to Noah Adams, who survives at the home.
She was an electronic engineer for AT&T. She was a member of the AT&T Pioneer Club and the Greenvalley Baptist Church, Kansas City.
Other survivors include one daughter, Brinda Adams, Versailles, and two sisters, Jo Ash Banks, Marshall, and Lela Dean Evans, Berryville, Ark.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hedges Funeral Home, Macks Creek.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.
BOLLENBACH
Dorothy A. Bollenbach, 78, Camdenton, died March 21, 1999, at her home.
She was born Oct. 4, 1920, in St. Louis, a daughter of Robert and Lucille Benson. She was married in 1951 to Dr. H.F. Bollenbach, who survives at the home.
She was a secretary for McDonnell-Douglas, St. Louis, and was a Presbyterian.
Services will be at 2 p.m. April 9, at Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton. The body was cremated.
