BUCHHEIT

John "Buck" Buchheit, 54, Linn Creek, died May 25, 2000, at his home.

He was born Dec. 17, 1945, in St. Louis, a son of Peter and Barbara Fay Buchheit. He was married Aug. 10, 1968, in Auburn, Neb., to Marilyn Birdsley, who survives at the home.

An Air Force veteran, he was employed with Thomas Distributor in Auburn. He owned and operated Buck Bar and Grill, before moving to the Lake.

Other survivors include: three sons, Richard Buchheit, Odell, Ill., Mike Buchheit, Auburn, and Mark Buchheit, Linn Creek; and one grandson.

Services will be from 3-5 p.m. today at Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach.

His body was cremated.

DATES

John M. Dates, 54, Hernando, Fla., died May 26, 2000, in Hernando.

He was born April 17, 1946, in Ann Arbor, Mich., a son of John A. and Betty Jane Hayes Dates. His mother, Betty Jane Cowen, survives in Bradenton, Fla. He was married in 1970 to Jeannie Kinsey, who survives.

An Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he lived in  Jefferson City before moving to Hernando in 1992.

He was a retired nuclear power engineer and worked for Sun Tech Contractors, Nevada, and Fluor Contractors, California.

He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Hernando.

Other survivors include: one son, Roger Dale Dates, Floral City, Fla.; one stepson, Rodney Walden, Holts Summit; one stepdaughter, Rhonda Walden, Holts Summit; two brothers, David Dates, New Smyrna Beach, Fla., and Dan Dates, Atlanta; and eight grandchildren.

Services will be at Inverness Chapel, Hooper Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inverness, Fla.

NOLAN

Patricia Ann Nolan, 68, Columbus, Ohio, formerly of  Jefferson City, died May 26, 2000, in Columbus.

She was a daughter of Leona and J. Henry Schulte. She was married Nov. 21, 1953, to Larry Nolan, who survives.

Other survivors include: four daughters, Kathy Walters, Emily Mann, Carol Matheke and Angela Schaller, all of Columbus; two sons, David Nolan and Brian Nolan, both of Texas ; one brother, Arthur Schulte,  Jefferson City; four sisters, Margaret Brethorst, Jeannette Hurley and Emily Roseman, all of the St. Louis area, and Mary Elizabeth Neumeyer, Cape Girardeau; and 10 grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Columbus. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph's Home for the Aged,  Jefferson City.

PRITCHETT

James M. "Buck" Pritchett, 45, Brumley, died May 27, 2000, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.

He was born June 23, 1954, in Kansas City, Kan., a son of William and Gladys Sons Pritchett. He was married June 28, 1974, in Iberia, to Susie May Ash, who survives at the home.

A charter member of Honey Springs Baptist Church, Brumley, he worked at Ozark Village Dock Co., Lake Ozark.

Other survivors include: one son, Jason Pritchett, Brumley; four daughters, Shelly Routh, Dixon, and Amy Pritchett, Stephanie Pritchett and Jennifer Pritchett, all of Brumley; three brothers, W.E. "Gene" Pritchett, Kenneth Pritchett and Jesse Pritchett, all of Iberia; five sisters, Judy Robinett and Rose Robinett, both of Brumley, and Helen Nichols, Sarah Duncan and Glennis Moneymaker, all of Iberia; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia. The Rev. Dennis Nichols will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Union Cemetery, Brumley.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorials are suggested to the James Pritchett Memorial Fund.

RAINES

Neva H. Raines, 95,  Jefferson City, died May 27, 2000, at her home.

She was born Oct. 26, 1904, in Green Ridge, a daughter of George H. and Mary Eliza Hunt Harris. She was married in 1924 to Richard O. Raines, who died in 1942.

A homemaker, she attended school in Green Ridge. She was assistant postmaster there before moving to  Jefferson City in 1942. She then was employed as a bookkeeper with the Division of Budget and Comptroller for 30 years until her retirement in October 1972. She was a member of the Christian Church, Green Ridge.

Survivors include several cousins.

One daughter, Alreta R. "Rita" Nier, died Aug. 29, 1993.

Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. today at Riverview Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Hospice of  Jefferson City and Mid-Missouri.

Arrangements are under the direction of Buescher Memorial Home.

ROTTER

Leo L. Rotter, 88, Bonnots Mill, died May 26, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 6, 1911, in Loose Creek, a son of Frank and Sybla Ruettgers Rotter. He was married April 15, 1939, in Loose Creek, to Mary Catherine "Dude" Kirsch, who died March 29, 2000.

He attended school at Loose Creek. A lifelong area resident and farmer, he was employed with the railroad and in the roofing business.

Survivors include: one son, Jimmy Rotter, Loose Creek; three daughters, Ruthie Bowen,  Jefferson City, Helen Libbert, Bonnots Mill, and Sharon Holterman, Freeburg; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Catherine Ann Porting.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Louis Catholic Church, Bonnots Mill. The Rev. George Kramer and the Rev. Greg Meystrik will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Morton Funeral Home, Linn, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.

STEWART

Harry Stewart, 97, Versailles, died May 26, 2000, at Good Shepherd Care Center, Versailles.

He was born May 25, 1903, in Taylor County, Iowa, a son of Ed and Ara Wilson Stewart. He was married July 21, 1927, in Page County, Iowa, to Connie Jones, who died May 27, 1997.

He drove a truck and worked in the hatchery at Cudahay in Bedford, Iowa. Moving to Eldon, he worked for Central Missouri Turkey Hatchery and was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include: two sons, Ed Stewart, Discovery Bay, Calif., and Robert Stewart, Brentwood, Calif.; one sister, Faye McClarlon, Clarinda, Iowa; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two stepgreat-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Randall Bunch will officiate. Burial will be in Eldon City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday.

Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church, Eldon, or the American Diabetes Association.

VINCENT

Daniel Lee Vincent, 49, Holts Summit, died May 26, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.

He was born June 15, 1950, in Sedalia, a son of Orville J. and Norma Jean Priesendorf Vincent. His father survives in Arkansas. He was married July 8, 1972, in  Jefferson City, to Linda D. Kelly, who survives.

He graduated from Sedalia's Smith-Cotton High School and attended Lincoln University. He served in the Navy from 1971 to 1975.

He worked at Safeway for eight years and was produce manager of the Consumer's Market, Osage Beach, for 13 years. For the past year, he was an associate in the produce department at Wal-Mart, Osage Beach. He had been a member of the Meatcutter's Union.

He was a member of Solid Rock Family Church,  Jefferson City.

Other survivors include: one son, Christopher J. Vincent,  Jefferson City; two daughters, Danielle S. Vincent, Holts Summit, and Kayla Denley, Tupelo, Miss.; one brother, Steven A. Vincent, Lincoln; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home. The Rev. Joseph Skiles, the Rev. Lee Rowden and the Rev. Robert L. Kelley Sr. will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorials are suggested to the St. Marys Health Center Oncology Unit.

YOUNG

Vera Lynette Young, 95, Gravois Mills, died May 26, 2000, at the Laurie Care Center.

She was born May 27, 1904, in New Cambria, a daughter of William D. and Mary Ellen Williams Evans. She was married March 5, 1928, to Harry E. Young, who died March 18, 1975.

She worked at Montgomery Ward and Sears in Kansas City and later owned Young's Cafe in Braymer. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and Gravois Mills United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: two sons, Harry E. Young, Gravois Mills, and Robert R. Young, Joplin; seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Laurie. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Kansas City, Kan.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday.
