WALZ

Beverly A. Walz, 64,  Jefferson City, died May 27, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born Dec. 12, 1935, in Martinsville, a daughter of William and Eldora K. Gardner Darby. She was married March 30, 1974, in  Jefferson City, to Arthur E. Walz, who survives at the home.

She attended Stanberry High School, Stanberry. A resident of the  Jefferson City area for the past 25 years, she was employed as a bartender at the VFW Post for 15 years until her retirement in 1999.

She was a member of VFW Auxiliary, Roy Sone Post 1003; and the American Legion, Roscoe Enloe Post 5

Other survivors include: three daughters, Elaine L. Bond, Eldon, Diana L. McGinnis, Springfield, and Tracy Schultz,  Jefferson City; two sons, Dean Wineinger,  Jefferson City, and Phil Ponder, Eldon; two stepdaughters, Pam J. Fichter, St. Louis, and Melody S. Walz,  Jefferson City; two stepsons, Carl J. Walz and Bill L. Walz, both of St. Louis; one sister, Mary Gier, Eldon; one brother, Donald Darby, Marshall; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. Michael Burton will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.

WYNN

Mary Catherine Wynn, 85,  Jefferson City, died May 27, 2000, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility.

She was born March 19, 1915, in Pelahatchie, Miss., a daughter of Doan and Willie Beatrice Denson Butler. She was married July 20, 1955, in Mississippi, to Gus Raymond Wynn, who died on July 1, 1972.

She worked as a housekeeper for Dr. E. Royse Bohrer M.D. from 1946 to 1959 and with Schell and Ward Clothiers from 1959 to 1964. She was a file clerk with the Department of Revenue from 1964 to 1971. She was a housekeeper for Dr. Johannes Schokker from 1971to 1994.

She was a member of Second Baptist Church, the Women's Missionary Union and the Estelle B. Diggs Circle of the Church. She was a member and Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Boone Chapter 87 and was a volunteer at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility.

Survivors include: one brother, Robert James Butler, Sun City, Calif.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at Houser-Millard Funeral Home. The Rev. Cornell Sudduth will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, with an Order of the Eastern Star service at 6 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.

BERRY

Stanley "Deacon" Berry, 76, California, died May 28, 2000, at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia.

He was born July 31, 1923, in Knox County, a son of Stanley and Cleo Perry Berry. He was married Jan. 1, 1944, in Stillwater, Okla., to Billie Lou Krueger, who died April 11, 1989.

He was a graduate of Edina High School. A veteran of World War II and the Korean War, he served in the Army until his retirement as a major. He was a salesman and sales manager with Moorman Feed Co. in Central Missouri for more than 30 years until his retirement in 1983.

He was a member of California United Methodist Church and VFW Post 4345, California.

Survivors include: two sons, Craig E. Berry, Middlegrove, and Doug Berry,  Jefferson City; four brothers, Francis Berry, Anaheim, Calif., Charles Berry, El Paso, Texas , James C. Berry, Nashua, N.H., and Richard Berry, Mesa, Ariz.; one sister, Elizabeth Poole, Cedar Falls, Iowa; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California. The Rev. Carol Koenig will officiate. Burial, with military honors, will be in Park View Memorial Gardens, Kirksville.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorials are suggested to California United Methodist Church, 201 South Oak St., California, Mo. 65018; or the Billie Lou and Deacon Berry Medical Scholarship for California R-1 School.

BOWLING

Janet Sue Bowling, 56, Fulton, died May 28, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born July 28, 1943, in Valley Park, a daughter of Norman W. and Ruth Geneva Higgins Woolsey. She was married June 18, 1961, in Eureka, to Floyd Bowling, who survives at the home.

A homemaker, she worked in environmental services at Fulton State Hospital.

She was a member of First Assembly of God Church, Fulton, and a former member of the Eureka Order of the Eastern Star.

Other survivors include: three daughters, Rochelle Bowling, Fulton, Ronda A. Becker, Tomah, Wis., and Renee´ J. Jeffries, Vandalia; one brother, William Woolsey, state of Florida; and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one infant son and two grandsons.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton. The Rev. Mike Haldeman will officiate. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.

CRITTEL

Private family services were Monday for Elizabeth M. Crittel, 75, Camdenton, who died May 28, 2000, at Lake of the Ozarks Retirement Center, Lake Ozark.

She was born Aug. 18, 1924, in Gloversville, N.Y., a daughter of William and Helene Miller Voisht. She was married July 26, 1947, in Gloversville, to Edward Crittel Jr., who survives at the home.

A New York resident for most of her life, she resided in the Lake area for the past two years.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Dr. Lorraine Brown, Camdenton; and one son, Edmond Crittel, Anchorage, Alaska.

Arrangements were under the direction of Allee-Reed Funeral Home, Camdenton.

EBERWEIN

Glen G. Eberwein, 69, Linn, died May 27, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.

He was born March 17, 1931, a son of Elmer E. and Estella J. Eberwein. He was married to Janet A. Eberwein, who survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Eric R. Eberwein and Michael C. Eberwein; two daughters, Elise R. Eberwein and Michelle C. Radoncic; two sisters, Nolene Mertz and Francis Hellwig; one brother Orland Eberwein; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Schrader Funeral Home, Ballwin. Burial will be in St. John's UCC Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, KFUO Radio or a charity of donor's choice.

GODBEY

Iva F. Godbey, 98, Camdenton, died May 29, 2000, at Laurie Care Center, Laurie.

She was born Jan. 2, 1902, in Union, a daughter of William H. and May Kelley DeCarmo. She was married Jan. 2, 1920, in Sand Springs, Okla., to Dexter Godbey, who preceded her in death.

A homemaker, she lived in the Lake area for the past five years. She was a Baptist.

Survivors include: two sons, William Godbey, Camdenton, and Chuck Godbey, Middletown, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. June 6 at Grandview Memorial Park Cemetery, Glendale, Calif.

Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Reed Funeral Home, Camdenton.

HEINEN

Loraine Heinen, 90, Sacramento, Calif., formerly of Loose Creek, died May 25, 2000, in Sacramento.

She was born April 8, 1910, in Russellville, a daughter of Charley J. and Elizabeth Dampf Hitz. She was married Feb. 3, 1940, in Loose Creek, to Herbert Heinen, who died in 1976.

She attended nursing school at St. Anthony's Hospital, St. Louis. She was the pie baker at Mueller's Tavern and worked at Oberman's Pants Factory, Tweedie's and International Shoe. She also worked at Country Kitchen Restaurant at Highway 63 and Highway 50.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish, Loose Creek. She was active in 4-H groups and helped establish the senior housing project.

Survivors include: two daughters, Susan Lock and Charlene R. Heinen, both of Sacramento; one son, Herbert Heinen Jr.,  Jefferson City; two sisters, Rose Williams,  Jefferson City, and Angeline Gallivan, Hampstead, N.C.; one brother, George "Jake" Hitz,  Jefferson City; and one grandson.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Church, Loose Creek. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. today at Morton Funeral Home, Linn, with a rosary at 7:30 p.m.

HILKEMEYER

Helen Elizabeth Hilkemeyer, 87,  Jefferson City, died May 27, 2000, at Capital Healthcare Center.

She was born March 26, 1913, in Meta, a daughter of Paul Sr. and Anna Massman Schulz. She was married May 12, 1937, in Meta, to Innocent Herman "Inno" Hilkemeyer, who survives in Westphalia.

She was educated at St. Cecilia Catholic School, Meta, and the  Jefferson City Business School.

She was employed at the Bank of Meta.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Victoria Patterson, Westphalia, and Mary Neuner, Austin, Texas ; one son, Eugene Hilkemeyer, Belair, Md.; one brother, Paul Schulz Jr., Meta; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Her remains were donated to the University of Missouri School of Medicine.

Services will be at a later date at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia.

Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic School, Westphalia.

Arrangements are under the direction of Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, Westphalia.
