BAILEY

Jim Andy Bailey I, 63, Lake Ozark, died June 5, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 2, 1936, in Kansas City, a son of William S. and Onalee Gover Bailey. He was married April 8, 1965, in Kansas City, Kan., to Billie Marie McCollough, who died March 23, 1988.

An Army veteran, he worked as credit manager at G.M.A.C. in Kansas City for 37 years. He moved to the Lake area seven years ago and was business manager at Village Marina & Yacht Club.

Survivors include: one son, Jim A. Bailey II, Overland Park, Kan.; three daughters, Joyce Marie Bailey, O'Fallon, Janice Gayle Reed, Rockville, Md., and Grace Ann Rudolph, Lenexa, Kan.; and six grandchildren.

Services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach. The Rev. Kerry Presnell will officiate. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Olathe, Kan.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday.

WRIGHT

Jimmy Dale Wright, 61, Camdenton, died June 6, 2000, at his home.

He was born Aug. 9, 1938, in Eugene, a son of James and Sibyl Allee Wright. He was married Sept. 23, 1985, in Camdenton, to Debra Welsh, who survives at the home.

A lifelong resident of the Camden County area, he was employed as a welder for Galva Foam. He was a member of the Camdenton Church of Christ.

Other survivors include: five sons, James Wright and Chris Wright, both of Kansas City, Allen Wright, Linn Creek, Nathan Wright, Camdenton, and Eric Martin, Crocker; five daughters, Marie Terry and Stephanie Sweat, both of Linn Creek, Brenda Burns and Amber Wright, both of Camdenton, and Loretta Fogel, Crocker; three brothers, Jerry Wright, Linn Creek, and Jess Wright and Joe Wright, both of Montreal; 10 sisters, Imogene Davis, Camdenton, Irene Taylor, Dover, Tenn., Patsy Moore, Richland, Pansy Miller, Ozark, Lillian Hess, St. Louis, Ruth Corene Gilliam and Lyla Robinett, both of Brumley, Darlene Nuttle,  Jefferson City, Florene Hall, Linn Creek, and Twyla Reaves, Stoutland; 22 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Allee-Reed Funeral Home, Camdenton. The Rev. Phil Burns and the Rev. Junior Burns will officiate. Burial will be in the Glover Chapel Cemetery, Montreal.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.

BAX

Raymond F. "Ray" Bax, 76, Koeltztown, died June 7, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 20, 1923, in Koeltztown, a son of Frank and Frances Engelmeyer Bax. He was married Nov. 20, 1946, in Linn, to Hildegard Brandt, who survives at the home.

He attended school in Koeltztown and at Winkelman School. A Navy veteran of World War II, he was a lifelong farmer near Koeltztown.

He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Koeltztown.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Judy Kempker,  Jefferson City, and Linda Wieberg, Freeburg; one son, Norbert Bax,  Jefferson City; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Two grandchildren preceded him in death.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Msgr. Bernard Boessen and Msgr. Ralph Kutz will officiate. Burial will be in Koeltztown Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Hilke-Millard Funeral Home, Westphalia, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to Masses at St. Boniface Catholic Church.

MEYER

Judith Fay Meyer, 57, Mokane, died June 5, 2000, at her home.

She was born Aug. 11, 1942, in Hollywood, Calif., a daughter of Leonard C. and Helen Louise Eddy Zinn. Her mother survives. She was married Aug. 18, 1962, to Walter Glenn Meyer, who survives at the home.

She was employed as administrative assistant to the counselors office at Los Angeles Unified School District. She was a member of the Wesleyan Church in Lawndale, Calif., where she was a youth leader, taught Bible School and was active in youth ministry.

She was active at Mokane United Methodist Church.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Dorothy Louise Meyer, Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.; one son, David Glenn Meyer, Perris, Calif.; two sisters, Barbara Steverson, Lee's Summit, and Vera Wuellner, Alton, Ill.; and one grandson.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mokane United Methodist Church. The Rev. Mike Harbison will officiate. Burial will be in Mokane Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Maupin Funeral Home, Fulton.

Memorials are suggested to Mokane United Methodist Church Building Fund.

NEBLETT

Gertrude E. Neblett, 84,  Jefferson City, died June 7, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born Nov. 7, 1915, in St. Louis, a daughter of August C. and Erma Alexa Frieda Mueller Schumacher. She was married Jan. 3, 1937, in Greenville, Ill., to Sherman Eugene Neblett, who died March 11, 1992.

A 1933 graduate of Normandy High School, she was a resident of St. Louis until 1948.

She was a clerk at Fort Leonard Wood until 1951, and worked at Hardin Grocery Store and Bartletts Office Supply.

She then was employed by the Missouri Department of Conservation Credit Union until her retirement.

She attended Central United Church of Christ, where she sang in the choir.

Survivors include: one daughter, Mary Alexa Neblett-Beck,  Jefferson City; one son, Kip J. Neblett,  Jefferson City; two brothers, Carl F. Schumacher, Alto, Mich., and Gilbert Henry Schumacher, St. Ann; four grandsons, five great-grandchildren and one step great-grandchild.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home. The Rev. Stephen H. Buchholz will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday.

Memorials are suggested to Central United Church of Christ or the American Cancer Society.

SPERRY

Donald J. Sperry, 77, Gravois Mills, died June 6, 2000, at Lake Regional Health Center, Osage Beach.

He was born Feb. 16, 1923, in Sioux City, Iowa, a son of Andy J. and Winnie Dunn Sperry.

He was an Army Air Corps veteran and a retired air traffic controller for the Federal Aviation Administration.

A Catholic, he was a member of Osage Community Elks Lodge 2705, Laurie.

Survivors include: two sons, Jeffery A. Sperry, Oak Harbor, Wash., and Michael Sperry, Spokane, Wash.; one daughter, Cynthia Ray Wood, Gilberts, Ill.; two sisters, Joan Wilson and Mary Sperry Moore, both of Palm Springs, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Osage Community Elks Lodge, Laurie. His remains were cremated.

Memorials are suggested to the Elks Lodge.

Arrangements are under the direction of Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Laurie.

BATES

John Leonard "Len" Bates, 92, Macks Creek, died June 8, 2000, at his home.

He was born Dec. 29, 1907, in Willmette, Ill., a son of Earl E. and Mae Upton Bates. He was married June 20, 1947, to Grace P. Dunham, who died Feb. 13, 1964.

He was a member of Willmette Baptist Church. He owned and operated Lazy Bates, now Bates Grocer, Macks Creek, from 1947 to 1984.

Survivors include: one son, Jay Bates, Macks Creek; two daughters, Shirley Ann Bennington, Encinitas, Calif., and Jill M. Hostetler, Buffalo; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

One son, Jack C. Bates, preceded him in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church, Macks Creek. The Rev. Dinzel Webb and the Rev. Paul Stephens will officiate. Burial will be in Macks Creek Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Hedges Funeral Home, Macks Creek.

Memorials are suggested to Lake Ozark Area Hospice.

HOFMANN

Harold W. Hofmann, 82,  Jefferson City, died June 8, 2000, at his home.

He was born May 17, 1918, in Osage City, a son of Robert and Henrietta Weith Hofmann. He was married Feb. 7, 1947, in Schubert, to Angie K. Rademan, who survives at the home.

A lifelong resident of Central Missouri, he attended Trinity Lutheran School and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was employed as a gauger with Phillips Pipeline Co. for 30 years until his retirement in 1980.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church; the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 2693; and the American Legion, Roscoe Enloe Post 5.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Cheryl L. Thomas, Harrisburg, and Sandra K. Lange,  Jefferson City; one son, Jeff P. Hofmann,  Jefferson City; two sisters, Mildred Schmutzler,  Jefferson City, and Bert Dosien, Alton, Ill.; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Ronald L. Hofmann, who died in December 1983, and one grandson.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. Jerome Brownlee will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. Sunday.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.

HUHMAN

Elizabeth Catherine Huhman, 97, Bowling Green, died June 8, 2000, at Country View Nursing Facility, Bowling Green.

She was born Jan. 11, 1903, in Osage Bend, a daughter of Anton and Catherine Bode Haselhorst. She was married Oct. 3, 1923, in Osage Bend, to Clarence Huhman, who died in 1988.

She attendied elementary school in Osage Bend. She was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church, St. Clement, for more than 60 years. She was a member of St. Clement Ladies Sodality and the sewing circle.

Survivors include: four daughters, Mercedes Behlmann, Bowling Green, Grace Suthoff, St. Charles, Kathy Rodgers, St. Peters, and Nancy Brakhage, Columbia; one son, Clarence Huhman, Destin, Fla.; one sister, Ann Lindenbusch, St. Elizabeth; 14 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and three step great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Clement Catholic Church. The Rev. Richard Frank and the Rev. Robert Kraus will officiate. Burial will be in St. Clement Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Mudd-Veach Funeral Home, Bowling Green, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to St. Clement Catholic Church.
