HARRELL

Myron D. "Hoot" Harrell, 74, Stover, died June 9, 2000, at Golden Age Living Center, Stover.

He was born June 6, 1926, in Stover, a son of H.A. and Maude Rogers Harrell.

A Marine Corps veteran of World War II, he retired from the Missouri Department of Transportation's maintenance crew in Stover after 30 years.

He was a lifelong member of Stover United Methodist Church, where he served as a trustee and groundskeeper.

Survivors include: two brothers, Henri J. Harrell, Indianapolis, and Warren H. Harrell, Minneapolis; and one sister, Gilda Manning, Stover.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Stover United Methodist Church. The Rev. Diane Cutler will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Stover Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Stover.

Memorials are suggested to the "Hoot" Harrell Fund at Stover United Methodist Church or the "Hoot" Harrell Fund at Golden Age Living Center.

SHEETS

Linda C. Sheets, 48, Osage Beach, died June 6, 2000, at her home.

She was born July 8, 1951, in Decatur, Ill., a daughter of William E. and Betty Jane Patterson Hanks. Her father and stepmother, William and Ginetta Hanks, survive in Decatur.

She graduated from Warrensburg-Latham High School in Warrensburg, Ill. She was an Elket and a member of Elks Lodge 2517 of Osage Beach.

Other survivors include: one son, Ryan Sheets, Rock Island, Ill.; one daughter, Carey Sheets, Moline, Ill.; two sisters, Kaye Winings, Eldon, and Donna England, Tacoma, Wash.; five stepbrothers and one stepsister.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Sharon United Methodist Church, Decatur. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park Cemetery near Harrison.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach.

Memorials are suggested to Dewey's Toys For Kids or Elks Lodge 2517, both in Osage Beach.

FAULKNER

Maynard E. Faulkner, 66,  Jefferson City, died June 10, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.

He was born April 26, 1934, in Bixby, a son of Matthew and Ava Strickland Faulkner. He was married Feb. 10, 1996, in Holts Summit, to Marceline Weiberg, who survives at the home.

A graduate of Caledonia High School, he received an associate's degree in education from Southwest Baptist University, Bolivar, and bachelor's and master's degrees in education from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He also was a graduate of the Auctioneering School of Kansas City.

He was an elementary school teacher for six years, an elementary school principal for seven years and high school principal at Valley High School, Caledonia, for 17 years. For the past 11 years, he was a teacher and supervisor for the Missouri Department of Corrections.

He also was a farmer and certified auctioneer. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Masonic Lodge AF & AM Tyro Chapter 12 in Caledonia, and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2693.

Other survivors include: three daughters, Debbie Goodman, St. Louis, Candace Netzer, Dallas, and Jamie Bolander, Olney, Ill.; two stepdaughters, Brenda Walters and Carolyn Heidbrink, both of  Jefferson City; two stepsons, Bill Luebbert, Columbia, and Dan Luebbert, of the home; one brother, Bernard Faulkner, Bixby; two sisters, Delphia Flaker and Owsha Adams, both of Ironton; three grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter Catholic Church. The Rev. Fred Elskamp will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Houser-Millard Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to St. Marys Health Center Oncology Foundation or to the ABLE Learning Center.

LEPPER

Dale J. Lepper, 39, Olean, died June 11, 2000, at his home.

He was born Jan. 7, 1961, in  Jefferson City, a son of Al B. and Alice M. Iven Lepper. His parents survive at the home.

He was a dairy farmer for most of his life and worked as an auto mechanic at Sinclair Ford, Eldon. He also was a bus driver for Cole R-5 School, Eugene. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Eldon, Spring Garden Farm Club and Dairy Farmers of America.

Other survivors include: two brothers, Mike Lepper, of the home, and Darrell Lepper, Eugene; and one sister, Darla Graham, St. Louis.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. James J. O'Sullivan will officiate. Burial will be in Spring Garden Cemetery, Eugene.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon, with a rosary at 7:30 p.m.

MILLER

Esther Lorraine Miller, 82, Chillicothe, died June 11, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born Aug. 19, 1917, in Mercer County, a daughter of Olin and Genevieve Coyle Dykes. She was married Oct. 7, 1952, in Little Rock, Ark., to Carrol Dale Miller, who died Oct. 16, 1960.

She worked in farming in Mercer County. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Chillicothe and Princeton.

Survivors include: two sons, David P. Miller, Lebanon, and Dale Wood Miller,  Jefferson City; one grandson, three step grandchildren and seven step great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Princeton Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

Arrangements are under the direction of Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.

MOOSE

Stephen K. Moose, 53,  Jefferson City, died June 11, 2000, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.

He was born March 26, 1947, in St. Joseph, a son of Cecil K. and Margaret L. Beck Moose. He was married Feb. 18, 1995, in  Jefferson City, to Sherry K. Powell, who survives at the home.

He graduated from high school and Missouri Western College, both in St. Joseph. A resident of the  Jefferson City area since 1978, he was employed as an auditor with the construction industry Laborers Welfare Fund for 22 years until his retirement June 1.

He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Stephanie Lynn Moose, Kansas City, and Meghan Leilani Moose, of the home; one son, Christopher Kenneth Moose, of the home; and one stepdaughter, Heather Nicole Powell, of the home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Freeman Mortuary. Burial, with military honors, will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.

ROSS

Fred "Pat" Ross Jr., 68, Iberia, died June 11, 2000, at Osage Beach Health Care Center.

He was born Sept.19, 1931, in Kansas City, a son of Frederick and Phyloria Milborne Ross. He was married Jan. 21, 1953, in St. Louis, to Ruby Morrow, who survives at the home.

A Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War, he retired from being the owner and operator of Kwik Kopy Printing in Osage Beach after 12 years.

He was a member of the Osage Beach Lions Club, the Spina Bifida Association of Greater St. Louis and a board member of St. Thomas Babbtown Mutual Insurance Co. He was also a member of the Lake Area Chamber of Commerce at Osage Beach and a member of the Brays Advent Christian Church.

Other survivors include: one son, Richard L. Ross, St. Louis; two daughters, Cindy Hertel, Iberia, and Luwana Tanner, La Vista, Neb.; one sister Sally Rice, Kansas City; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one grandson, Michael J. Hertel.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Rekus Funeral Homes, Iberia. The Rev. Earl Skidds will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Union Cemetery, Iberia.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Rekus Funeral Homes, Iberia.

Memorials are suggested to Brays Advent Christian Church Building Fund or the Iberia Christian Youth Center.

STISSER

Clarence Allen "Rip" Stisser, 83, Lake Ozark, died June 11, 2000, at his home.

He was born Sept. 22, 1916, in Shinglehouse, Penn., a son of Clarence Aaron and Francis Mae Pinney Stisser. He was married to Clara Edith Ballerstein on Dec. 29, 1945, in Wellsville, N.Y. She survives at the home.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1945 in the European Theater. He received a battlefield commission of second lieutenant and was awarded the Bronze Star.

Following his military service, he was a first aid and safety director for Sinclair Refinery in Wellsville, N.Y., until 1958. He was transferred to Atlantic Richland Research Laboratory in Harvey, Ill., where he stayed until his retirement in 1975, which is when he moved to Osage Beach.

He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Osage Beach where he was president, elder and Bible school teacher. He was also a past officer in the Linn Creek/Osage Beach Lions Club and a member of the Osage Beach Golden Age Center.

Other survivors include: one son, Paul Stisser, Broken Arrow, Okla.; one daughter, Jane Sieradzki, Lake Ozark; one brother, William Stisser, Wellsville, N.Y.; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Gregory Stisser.

Services will be Tuesday at 5 p.m. at the Hope Lutheran Church in Osage Beach with the Rev. John Dautenhahn officiating. Burial will be in the Lake Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Osage Beach.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Memorials are suggested to Hope Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.

Hedges Funeral Home of Osage Beach is in charge of arrangements.

DeCHANT

Jerald William DeChant, 58,  Jefferson City, died June 11, 2000, at his home.

He was born Dec. 8, 1941, in Chicago, a son of B. William and Dorothy Marie Dore DeChant. His mother survives in Drummond, Wis. He was married July 6, 1963, in Lombard, Ill., to Sylvia Regina Stadtherr, who survives in  Jefferson City.

A graduate of Lisle High School, Lisle, Ill., he attended Lincoln University. He was employed by Armour Industrial Chemical Co., Chicago, and was a real estate salesman and broker in Cole Camp. He also was an antique dealer.

After moving to  Jefferson City, he was a corrections officer with the Missouri Department of Corrections. He then worked at the Missouri State Employees Union until his retirement.

He was a member of the AFSCME Labor Union Local 1810, the National Wildlife Federation and the Gold Wing Motorcycle Club.

Other survivors include: one son, Kevin Michael DeChant, Naperville, Ill.; two daughters, Theresa J. DeChant, Holts Summit, and Margaret Mary DeChant, Coleville, Calif.; two brothers, Timothy DeChant, Drummond, and Steven DeChant, Elburn, Ill.; one stepsister, Susan Kranz, Romeoville, Ill.; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Private family services will be held. His remains were donated to the Department of Anatomy, University of Missouri.

Memorials are suggested to the Fireman Fund for Special Devices.

Arrangements are under the direction of Buescher Memorial Home.
