BURKHALTER

Oscar Frederick Burkhalter, 85, Chesterton, Ind., died June 11, 2000, at Waters of Duneland Health Care Center, Chesterton.

He was born Sept. 11, 1914, in  Jefferson City, a son of Godfred and Lillian Petre Burkhalter. He was married June 11, 1937, in  Jefferson City, to Frances Maddox, who survives in Marionville.

An Army veteran of World War II, he was a construction electrician and a member of IBEW Local, Decatur, Ill., and the Masonic Lodge, Shell Knob.

Other survivors include: one son, Richard Burkhalter, Porter, Ind.; one daughter, Jean Bruns, Leucadia, Calif.; one sister, Edna Uptegraft,  Jefferson City; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Edmonds and Evans Funeral Home, Chesterton. The Rev. Bill Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Painters Cemetery, Shell Knob.

Visitation will be from 6:30-7 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorials are suggested to Harbor Light Hospice, 500 W. 81st Ave., Merrillville, Ind.

LISTER

Lewis Eugene Lister, 84, Climax Springs, died June 11, 2000, at Lake Regional Health Center, Osage Beach.

He was born March 21, 1916, in Wamego, Kan., a son of Jesse and Grace Carmichael Lister. He was married July 25, 1942, in Warsaw, to Ila Coffee, who survives at the home.

He was a stone mason.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Carol Mantooth, Salida, Colo.; two sons, Robert Eugene Lister and Randy Lister, both of Greenview; four brothers, Francis Lister, Eaton, Colo., Bernard Lister, Champaign, Ill., Jerry Lister and Marvin Lister, both of Topeka, Kan.; two sisters, Eva Savago, Centralia, Kan., and Jean Ellenbecker, Topeka; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Allee-Reed Funeral Home, Camdenton. Burial will be in Granger Lane Cemetery, Climax Springs.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

SCHEIL

Ervin James Scheil, 64, Warsaw, died June 10, 2000, in Climax Springs.

He was born April 30, 1936, in York, Neb., a son of Ervin J. and Altina E. Comstock Scheil.

An Army veteran, he was a retired glass glazer.

Survivors include: two son, Scott James Scheil, Suffolk, Va., and James Nicholas Scheil, Stover; two daughters, Denise Ann Moslander, Shelton, Neb., and Kathryn Kay Riebschlager, Ord, Neb.; seven brothers, Charles Scheil, Fairmont, Neb., Edward Scheil, Alamogordo, N.M., Richard Scheil, Henderson, Neb., Robert Scheil, Austin, Texas , David Scheil, Sante Fe, N.M., Tom Scheil, Bradshaw, Neb., and Donald Scheil, Norfolk, Va.; four sisters, Marabelle, Rustermeier, Lincoln, Neb., Mary Lou Krakow, Hebron, Neb., Mary Jean Dale, Gibbon, Neb., and Georgia John Day, Princeton, Ill.; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. Burial will be in Stover Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.

WUNSCH

Mary Ellen Wunsch, 68, Rocky Mount, died June 10, 2000.

She was born May 19, 1932, in Houston, Texas , a daughter of Harry C. and Ellen Bowles Dealy. She was married to Francis Leo Cox Jr., who died in 1957. She was married to Kenneth Leroy Hixon from 1959 to 1970. She then was married to Sidney Paul Wunsch, who died in 1986.

A homemaker, she moved to Rocky Mount in 1986.

Survivors include: one sister, Elizabeth Gayle Maris Choate, Houston; three sons, Francis Leo Cox III, Holts Summit, John Michael Cox, Rocky Mount, and Kenneth Ray Hixon, Lake Ozark; one daughter, Valerie Hixon Lindsey, Barnett; and nine grandchildren.

Services will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach. Inurnment will be at a later date in Hollywood Cemetery, Houston.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.

ISENHART

Wanda D. Isenhart, 61, Holts Summit, died June 13, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born June 22, 1938, in Callaway County, a daughter of Charles W. and Beaudie Maze Bloomer. She was married Dec. 7, 1957, in  Jefferson City, to Ron G. Isenhart Sr., who survives at the home.

A lifelong resident of Central Missouri, she attended school in Cedar City and  Jefferson City. She was employed as a cook at North Elementary School, Holts Summit, for the past 11 years.

She was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church, Holts Summit, and the auxiliary of Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 2693.

Other survivors include: two sons, Ron G. Isenhart Jr. and Greg W. Isenhart, both of Holts Summit; two sisters, Ruby Skidmore, Lebanon, and Bette Bailey, Kansas City; and four grandsons.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. James Preston will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Boone County.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or Union Hill Baptist Church.

BURKHALTER

Oscar Burkhalter, 85, Chesterton, Ind., formerly of  Jefferson City, died June 11, 2000, in Chesterton.

He was born Sept. 11, 1914, in  Jefferson City, a son of Fred and Lillian Petry Burkhalter. He was married June 11, 1937, in  Jefferson City, to Frances Maddox, who survives.

He attended  Jefferson City schools and  Jefferson City Junior College. He was an Army veteran of World War II. A former resident of Shell Knob, he worked as a construction electrician.

He was a member of Central United Church of Christ, and a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge and the I.B.E.W.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Jean Ann Bruns, Leucadia, Calif.; one son, Richard Burkhalter, Porter, Ind.; one sister, Edna Updegraft,  Jefferson City; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 7 p.m. today at Edmond and Evans Funeral Home, Chesterton. The Rev. Bill Jones will officiate. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Painter's Cemetery, Shell Knob.

DENTON

Bill E. Denton, 63, Olean, died June 12, 2000, at his home.

He was born Jan. 12, 1937, in Brinkley, Ark., a son of Bill and Virginia Bartrand Denton.

A marine repairman, he was a member of Lake Ozark Christian Church and Brazito VFW.

Survivors include, two daughters, Mary Beth Lamb, Independence, and Rebecca Suzanne Regan, South Carolina, and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Kerry J. Presnell. Burial will be in Greenmore Memorial Gardens, Barnett.

Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Thursday.

Memorials are suggested to Lake Ozark Christian Church or the American Lung Association.

McNEAL

Danny Lee McNeal, 48, Tuscumbia, died June 13, 2000, near Eldon, from injuries sustained in a traffic accident.

He was born Oct. 25, 1951, in Sedalia, a son of Leonard and Mabel Parker McNeal. He was married Aug. 10, 1975, in Iberia, to Belinda Kelsay, who survives at the home.

He was an Army veteran. He was a former minister at High Gate Baptist Church, New Hope Baptist Church, Mt. Herman Baptist Church, Barnett Baptist Church and Henley Baptist Church. He worked as a caseworker at the Missouri Department of Corrections, where he was a member of the Missouri Department of Corrections Chaplains and Volunteers Association.

He was a member of Aurora Springs Baptist Church, near Eldon.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Angela McNeal and Karin McNeal, both of Tuscumbia; and three brothers, Duane D. McNeal and Derwin L. McNeal, both of Sedalia, and Darrell R. McNeal, state of Texas .

One son, Timothy McNeal, preceded him in death.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Aurora Springs Baptist Church. The Rev. Ernie Buscher will officiate. Burial, with military honors, will be in Hickory Point Cemetery, near Iberia.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Rekus Funeral Home, Eldon.

Memorials are suggested to the McNeal Children Educational Fund.

GRIFFITH

Boyd R. Griffith, 79,  Jefferson City, died June 14, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born July 31, 1920, in Mexico, a son of Harry E. and Mary Belle Jones Griffith. He was married July 2, 1949, in  Jefferson City, to Martha E. Pabor, who survives at the home.

A lifelong resident of  Jefferson City, he was a 1940 graduate of  Jefferson City High School and attended Chillicothe Business College. An Army veteran of World War II, he worked as a structural designer with the Missouri State Highway Department for 35 years, retiring in 1982.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church;  Jefferson City Lodge 43 A.F. & A.M.; the Order of the Eastern Star, Victoria Chapter 14; the American Legion, Roscoe Enloe Post 5; the American Association of Retired Persons; the Association of Retired State Employees; and a past member of the  Jefferson City Symphony and the Kapital Kicks Band.

Other survivors include: one son, Randall B. Griffith, Great Bend, Kan.; one sister, Mary Lou Gardiner, Spokane, Wash.; one brother, John L. Griffith, Barnett; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. Mark West will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Friday.

Memorials are suggested to the Heisinger Lutheran Retirement Center; First United Methodist Church; or the American Heart Association.
