DE PORTER

Ola H.J. De Porter, 80, Lake Ozark, died June 18, 2000, at Lake Regional Health Center, Osage Beach.

She was born Feb. 2, 1920, in Centertown, a daughter of William J. and Margaret Schubert Linhardt. She was married to Eldon De Porter, who died in 1964.

She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Osage Beach, Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 496,  Jefferson City, Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem and Lake Regional Health Center Auxiliary.

Survivors include: two sons, William De Porter, San Jose, Calif., and Gerald De Porter, Fayetteville, N.C.; one brother, Albert Linhardt, Centertown; two sisters, Dorothy Goller,  Jefferson City, and Laura Hilburn, Dallas; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach. The Rev. John Dautenhahn will officiate. Private graveside services will be at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens Cemetery,  Jefferson City.

Visitation will be from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Thursday.

Memorials are suggested to the Hospital Auxiliary Unit of the Cardiac Unit of Lake Regional Health Center, Osage Beach.

HASKINS

Jeanette E. Haskins, 68, Osage Beach, died June 12, 2000, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.

She was born Dec. 5, 1931, in Dixon, Neb., a daughter of John E. and Gertrude Knoell Eiben. She was married May 20, 1950, in Audubon County Iowa, to W.W. "Bill" Haskins, who survives at home.

She was a bookkeeper for Union Pacific, Southern Bell and Hawkeye Lumber. She was past president and trustee of Elks Lodge 2517 Elkette, past first lady of the Elks Association, and the Mid-MO Sweet Adelines.

Other survivors include: two sons, Mike William Haskins and David Edward Haskins, both of Osage Beach; one daughter, Linda Jeanette Gotschall, Villisca, Iowa; five brothers, Dwain Eiben, Simi Valley, Calif., Ardell Eiben, Omaha, Neb., Norman Eiben, Herndon, Va., Lyle Eiben, Lowell, Mass., and Jerry Eiben, Dubuque, Iowa; three sisters, Shirley Johnson, Clear Lake, S.D., Alberta Lyons, Estacada, Ore., and Thelma Anderson, Independence, Iowa; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach. The Rev. Art Dyer will officiate. Inurnment will be in Lake Memorial Gardens Columbarium, Osage Beach.

Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Friday.

Memorials are suggested to the Elks National Foundation.

MCKINLEY

Lura Maxine McKinley, 74, Eldon, died June 19, 2000, in Eldon.

She was born Nov. 15, 1925, in Tuscumbia, a daughter of William E. and Mary Burris Wood. She was married May 9, 1947, in Tuscumbia, to Lymoin McKinley, who survives at the home.

A graduate of Tuscumbia High School and Central Missouri Teacher's College, she taught at McKinley and Harmony schools.

Other survivors include: three daughters, Cleora Golightly, Appleton City, Lori McKinley, Columbia, and Terry McKinley,  Jefferson City; seven sons, Richard Wayne McKinley, Norriston, Pa., Gary McKinley, Iberia, Charles McKinley, Ashland, Douglas McKinley, Eldon, Robert McKinley, New Town, Pa., Larry McKinley, Columbia, and John McKinley, St. Louis; four sisters, Fern Marcantonio,  Jefferson City, Wanda Vernon, Eloise Martin and Mary Cooper, all of Tuscumbia; four brothers, Eddie Wood, Eldon, Bill Wood, Kansas City, Clayton Wood and Harold Wood, both of Tuscumbia.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Delmon Marriott will officiate. Burial will be in Tol Wood Cemetery, Eldon.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday.

Memorials are suggested to Eldon Healthcare Residents Fund.

DOZIER

Emily Dozier, 77, New Bloomfield, died June 20, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born March 8, 1923, in California, a daughter of Houston and Stella Groom George. She was married Dec. 12, 1947, to Thomas Nelson Dozier, who survives at the home.

A graduate of William Woods College and the University of Missouri, she taught at Pleasant Ridge School, Holts Summit, and was a substitute teacher at New Bloomfield Schools. She worked for Missouri Power and the United States Bureau of Census. She was a member of New Bloomfield Christian Church, Callaway County Chapter of the William Woods Alumni Association, New Bloomfield Alumni Association, Fulton College Board of Associates and a was charter member of Meadow Lake Acres Country Club.

Other survivors include: one son, David Dozier, Columbia; one daughter, Debbie Dozier Cuno, New Bloomfield; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Debo Funeral Home, Holts Summit. The Rev. Jerry Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in Dry Fork Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to the Children's Miracle Network.

VEASMAN

Elizabeth Veasman, 103, Brinktown, died June 21, 2000, at Maries Manor Health Care Center, Vienna.

She was born Oct. 20, 1896, in Martinsburg, a daughter of George and Frances Koerber Wenzel. She was married Feb. 11, 1922, in St. Charles, to Fred Veasman, who died Jan. 5, 1977.

She was a member of Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Brinktown, St. Ann's Sodality and WPFA Club.

Survivors include: four sons, John Veasman, St. Elizabeth, Edward Veasman, Robertsville, Donley Veasman and Claude Veasman, both of Brinktown; two daughters, Agnes Wilson, Overland, and Jane Rowden, Vienna; one brother, William Wenzel, Mexico; one sister, Tresa Hankey, Mexico; 29 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Guardian Angels Catholic Church. The Rev. John Schmitz will officiate. Burial will be in Guardian Angels Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday and 8-9 a.m. Saturday at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna. A prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Memorials are suggested to the Guardian Angels Cemetery Care Fund.

STEWART

Services were June 17 in Parker, Colo., for Rodman C. "Rod" Stewart, 51, Parker, formerly of  Jefferson City, who died June 13, 2000, as a result of injuries sustained in a traffic accident near Pagosa Springs, Colo.

He was born April 20, 1949, in  Jefferson City, a son of Edwin B. and Mildred Elouise Johnson Stewart. He was married June 15, 1974, in St. Louis, to Linda Marie Gutzler. He was married Sept. 22, 1990, in Overland Park, Kan., to Cynthia Jill Frewen, who survives at the home.

He graduated from  Jefferson City High School in 1967 and served in the Marine Corps. He received a bachelor's degree from the School of Business and Public Administration at the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1976.

He was managing director of the Colorado Rock Products Association and the Colorado Ready-Mixed Concrete Association. He was a member of the Western States Aggregates Council, the National Stone Association, and the Aggregates and Concrete Executives Council. He belonged to Parker Evangelical Presbyterian Church.

Other survivors include: three sons, Adam Rodman Stewart, Cody Michael Stewart and Austin Taylor Stewart, all of the home; and one sister, Gwendolyn S. Beck,  Jefferson City.

Services were at Parker Evangelical Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Erik Ohman officiated. Burial with military honors was in Parker Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Rodman Stewart Memorial Fund (for his children's education), U.S. Bank, Arapahoe Road Office, 7801 E. Arapahoe Road, Englewood, CO 80112.

Arrangements were under the direction of Parker Funeral Home, Parker, Colo.

PARSONS

George W. Parsons, 73, Eldon, died June 20, 2000, in Columbia.

He was born Jan. 31, 1927, in Miller County, a son of Everett and Vertie Cooper Parsons.

An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of Eldon VFW Post 2442 and Old Path Baptist Church, Eldon. He was a truck driver for Rush Trucking Company.

Survivors include: five daughters, Diane Cooper, Russellville, Janice Burris,  Jefferson City, Marilyn Hees, Paula Sestrich and Emma Armontrout, all of Eldon; three sons, James W. Parsons, Spring Valley, Calif., John Michael Parsons, Walkersville, Md., and Raymond Parsons, Independence; four sisters, Geraldine Reher, Pomona, Calif., Mildred Wyrick, Mae Jones and Ina Wheeler, all of Eldon; two brothers, Jerry Parsons, Tucker, Ga., and Carroll Parsons, Eldon; 20 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Old Path Baptist Church. The Rev. Gene Cain, the Rev. Danny Graham and The Rev. Ed Lubbering will officiate. Burial will be in Greenmore Memorial Gardens, Barnett, with military honors by VFW Post 2442.

Memorials are suggested to the World War II Veteran's Memorial Fund.

HOFF-BURNS

Services were Wednesday for Stephen Allen Hoff-Burns and Charles Matthew Hoff-Burns, infant sons of Charles Burns and Andrea Hoff, Holts Summit, who were stillborn June 16, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.

Their parents survive at the home.

Other survivors include: maternal grandparents, Ivey and Sandy Hoff, Holts Summit; and paternal grandparents, Charles and Margaret Burns, Holts Summit.

Private graveside services were held at Riverview Cemetery. The Rev. Don Evans officiated.

Arrangements were under the direction of Houser-Millard Funeral Home.

HANNING

Charles Jeff Hanning, 48, Lake Ozark, died June 21, 2000, at his home.

He was born Oct. 4, 1951, in Sedalia, a son of Charles and Sally Richardson Hanning. He was married Dec. 23, 1994, in Lake Ozark, to Diann Krumme, who survives at the home.

He was a boat mechanic and a member of Horseshoe Bend Baptist Church, Lake Ozark.

Other survivors include: one son, Jason Hanning, Milwaukee; one daughter, Jamie Hanning, Kansas City, Kan.; two stepdaughters, Amber Weeg and Kristen Weeg, both of Lake Ozark; two brothers, Larry Hanning, Prairie Village, Kan., and Rick Hanning, Shawnee, Kan; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Horseshoe Bend Baptist Church. Burial will be at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach.

CONNER

Allen L. Conner, 41, Fulton, died June 21, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.

He was born April 30, 1959, in Fulton, a son of Bill and Genevieve Clatterbuck Conner. His parents survive. He was married June 6, 1981, to Sandy K. Wilson, who survives at the home.

He attended  Oklahoma State Technical College and received an associate's degree in numeric control engineering. He worked for two years at Modine and owned a John Deere dealership. He then established the Conner-Neukomm Insurance Agency, Fulton. He held a certified insurance counselor's license.

A lifelong resident of the Fulton area, he was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Fulton, and the Holts Summit Rotary Club. He was past president of Fulton Optimists; past lieutenant governor of Missouri Optimists; president of Kochs; past president of the Chamber of Commerce; and a six-year board member of the Chamber of Commerce, Chamber Ambassadors.

He held a commercial instrument instructor pilot's license. He was the lieutenant colonel of 1st Missouri Infantry Battalion, Trans-Mississippi Brigade, 1st Confederate Division. He was active in Civil War history, re-enactments and civic events.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Gwynn Conner, of the home; one son, Aaron Conner, of the home; two sisters, Nancy Womack and Jacque Cox, both of Kansas City; and his paternal grandmother, Evelyn Conner, Fulton.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Christian Church, Fulton. The Rev. John Suttenfield will officiate. Burial will be in Morris Cemetery, near Fulton.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Maupin Funeral Home, Fulton.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or to the First Christian Church Logos Program, Fulton.
