HORSTDANIEL

Frederick William Horstdaniel, 83, Westphalia, died July 2, 2000, at his home.

He was born Dec. 10, 1916, in Westphalia, a son of Herman H. and Mary Hagenhoff Horstdaniel.

He was employed at Maries Valley Hatchery for 27 years. He then worked as a custodian at Fatima High School, Westphalia, for 34 years until his retirement in 1996.

An Army veteran of World War II, he received a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia, St. Joseph Men's Sodality, Westphalia American Legion Post 544 and Oliver Buehrle DAV Post 17.

Survivors include three brothers, Ferdinand "Purdy" Horstdaniel, Pueblo, Colo., Joseph Horstdaniel, Westphalia, and Lawrence Horstdaniel,  Jefferson City.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia. The Rev. Robert A. Kurwicki will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Westphalia.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, Westphalia, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia, the American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice.

JOHNSON

Michael W. Johnson, 42,  Jefferson City, died July 1, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.

He was born Jan. 29, 1958, in  Jefferson City, a son of Charles Edward and Eileen Ward Johnson. His parents survive in  Jefferson City. He was married Aug. 20, 1994, in Wardsville, to Gloria Roling, who survives at the home.

He attended Immaculate Conception School, was a 1976 graduate of Helias High School, and was a 1984 graduate of Lincoln University. He served in the U.S. Army from 1981 to 1992, serving in Operation Desert Storm. He also served at Ft. Leonard Wood, Ft. Sill, Ft. Indiantown Gap and in the 41st Field Artillery at Babenhausen, Germany. He worked for the Missouri Department of Economic Development, Division of Workforce Development since 1993. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2693, the American Legion Roscoe Enloe Post 5, and the United Sportsmen's Club. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, where he served as an usher.

Other survivors include: one son, Andrew Michael Johnson, Riverside, R.I.; two daughters, Crystal Marie Johnson and Rebecca Lee Ann Gonzales, both of the home; and one sister, Crissy Wilson,  Jefferson City.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, with the Rev. Ignazio C. Medina and the Rev. Louis E. Dorn officiating. Burial will be in the St. Stanislaus Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. today at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors,  Jefferson City Chapel, where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Additional visitation will be from 8-10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to The Johnson Children's Education Fund or the American Cancer Society.

JAMES

Wayne Edwin James, 65, Versailles, died July 1, 2000, at his home.

He was born on May 7, 1935, in Versailles, a son of Hayden and Sadie Bland James. He was married Aug. 9, 1958, to Betty Schnirch, who survives at the home.

He was a truck driver and served in the U.S. Air Force. He also was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.

Other survivors include: three sons, Danny James, Randy James and Eddie James, all of Versailles; three daughters, Jeannette Meyer, Lebanon, Janet Stafford, Siloam Springs, Ark. and Debbie Mueller, Stover; two sisters, Mildred Marriott, Versailles, and Reva Alumbaugh, Gravois Mills; 20 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. The Rev. Martin Hoyer will officiate.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.

MEYER

Laura Nadine Meyer, 70, Tipton, died July 1, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born June 30, 1930, in Syracuse, a daughter of Charlie and Bertha People Aldrich. She was married in October 1976, in Miami, Okla., to Freddie Meyer, who died in April 1992.

She was a lifelong resident of the Otterville and Tipton areas and she was a member of the Otterville Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by one daughter Barbara Wolf, Tipton, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The body will be cremated.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the Meisenheimer-Griswold Funeral Home, Tipton.

SCHULTE

Anton H. Schulte, 92,  Jefferson City, died July 2, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 14, 1907, in  Jefferson City, a son of Henry J. and Anna Clara Baumann Schulte. He was married June 13, 1933, in St. Martins, to Catherine Josephine Distler, who survives at the home.

He owned and operated Anton Schulte Plumbing & Electrical. He was a member of St. Martin Catholic Church and a past treasurer of the Missouri Plumbing Association.

Other survivors include: four daughters, Mary Ann Dunn, Springfield, and Dorothy Bruemmer, Rosaline Distler and Elizabeth Dunn, all of  Jefferson City; three sons, Anthony Schulte, Louis Schulte and James Schulte, all of  Jefferson City; four sisters, Sr. Teresa Schulte, OSF, Sr. Celia Schulte, OSF, Sr. Mariclare Schulte, OSF, and Clara Schulte, all of Milwaukee; three brothers, Francis Schulte, Joseph Schulte and Alfred Schulte, all of  Jefferson City; 22 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Martin Catholic Church. The Rev. Edwin A. Schmidt and the Rev. Gerald L. Poelker will officiate. Burial will be in St. Martin Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to St. Martin Catholic Church.

AUTENRIETH

Alfred "Sonny" Autenrieth, 69, Tebbetts, died July 2, 2000, at his home.

He was born Oct. 25, 1930, in Tebbetts, a son of Alfred E. and Viola Caroline Howard Autenrieth. He was married Feb. 1, 1955, in Newton Falls, Ohio, to Mary Jane Jones, who survives at the home.

A graduate of South Callaway R-2 High School and an Air Force veteran of the Korean War, he was a farmer in Callaway County. He was a member of IOOF Lodge 596, Holts Summit Optimist Club, Tebbetts United Methodist Church, a board member of the South Callaway Fire District and a 4-H leader in tractor mechanics.

Other survivors include: one son, Bill Jurgle, Russellville; five daughters, Debbie Pantaleo, Tupelo, Miss., Susie Nelson,  Jefferson City, Lisa Schnieders, Hollister, Lori Leeper, Tebbetts, and Tammy Autenrieth, St. Charles; one sister, Lena Mae Stock, Tebbetts; one brother, Kennard Autenrieth, Tebbetts; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Tebbetts United Methodist Church. The Rev. Bruce Bernard and Bill Howard will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Tebbetts.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Maupin Funeral Home, Fulton, with an IOOF Lodge 596 service at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to the American Lung Association of Eastern Missouri.

BRUNS

Lillian Kuper Scott Bruns, 88, Bonnots Mill, died July 1, 2000, at her home.

She was born Feb. 27, 1912, in  Jefferson City, a daughter of James and Mary Jaccoud Kuper. She was married March 3, 1932, to Ralph E. Scott, who died Dec. 25, 1963. She was married June 21, 1978, to Joseph Bruns, who survives at the Westphalia Retirement Center.

A graduate of Linn High School, she worked for the Missouri Highway Department and the Missouri Hotel which her husband managed. She was president of the PTA, a Girl Scout leader, Cub Scout pack leader, member of the Order of Eastern Star, Chamois, secretary/treasurer and organist of Bonnots Mill Methodist Church, secretary/treasurer of Cadet Creek Cemetery and secretary of the Missouri Council of Churches.

Other survivors include: two sons, Gary Kuper Scott,  Jefferson City, and E. David Scott, Bonnots Mill; two stepsons, Joseph K. Bruns, St. Louis, and Dennis Bruns, Camdenton; one daughter, Rita Ruth Scott, of the home; five stepdaughters, Mary Kay Ryan,  Jefferson City, Delores Truemper, St. Louis, Laurie Wenzel, Warrenton, Barbara Criswell, Marshall, and Terri Deer, Warrensburg; one brother, Homer B. Kuper,  Jefferson City; 27 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Services were at 10 a.m. today at the Bonnots Mill Methodist Church. The Rev. Christopher McCutchen and the Rev. Dorothy Lairmore officiated. Burial was in Cadet Creek Cemetery, near Bonnots Mill.

Memorials are suggested to the Bonnots Mill Betterment Association for Preservation of the Methodist Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Morton Funeral Home.

BLUME

Services were June 26 for John L. Blume Sr., 68, Hurst, Texas , who died June 22, 2000, at a Fort Worth, Texas , area hospital.

He was born Feb. 13, 1932, in  Jefferson City, a son of Herbert E. and Katherine Blume. He was married to Lois P. Blume, who survives.

He was an engineer for Bell Helicopter-Textron.

Other survivors include: four sons, Robert Blume, John L. Blume Jr., Christopher Blume and Matthew Blume; three daughters, Katherine Hurst, Karen Thieme and Jennifer Blume; two brothers, Herbert Blume and Tony Blume; two sisters, Mary McKinney and Genevieve Benton; and 11 grandchildren.

Services were at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, North Richland Hills, Texas . Burial was in Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Association or St. John the Apostle Catholic Church.

Arrangements were under the direction of Lucas Funeral Home.

BOOTH

Leota Fern Booth, 77, Versailles, died July 2, 2000, at Good Shepherd Care Center, Versailles.

She was born March 28, 1923, in Adair County, a daughter of Opal and Virginia Stivers Osborn. She was married July 5, 1939, to Kenneth Booth, who died June 6, 1977.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include: one son, Mack Eugene Booth, Rayville; one daughter, Carmelita Ann Madden, Stover; one brother, Donald Osborn, Davenport; one sister, Pauline Mountain, Kirksville; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

One daughter, Bonita Charlene Miller, and one grandson preceded her in death.

Services were at 10 a.m. today at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. The Rev. Robert Horton officiated. The body will be cremated. Graveside services and burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Yarrow Cemetery, Kirksville.

BRADLEY

Margaret L. Bradley, 89, Camdenton, died July 2, 2000, at Ozark Care Center, Osage Beach.

She was born Aug. 10, 1910, in Lebanon, a daughter of John E. and Mayme Wilson Walstrom. She was married Oct. 18, 1931, to Eugene G. Bradley, who died in 1986.

A graduate of Lebanon High School, she attended Draughon's Business College, Springfield. She was a member of Round Table Club, Lebanon, Windsor Estates Auxilary, Women's Literary Club and Community Christian Church, Camdenton. She was a former member of Congregational Church, Lebanon.

Survivors include: one son, Gene M. Bradley, Durango, Colo.; one daughter, Christy Fera, Camdenton; and three grandsons.

Two infant sons preceded her in death.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Community Christian Church. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery, Lebanon.

Memorials are suggested to Community Christian Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hedges Funeral Homes, Camdenton.

BROTHERSON

Myrtle K. Brotherson, 82, Eldon, died July 4, 2000, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach.

She was born Jan. 29, 1918, in Neponset, Ill., a daughter of Louis and Emma Binno Kaiser. She was married to Arthur LeVere, who preceded her in death. She was married Nov. 1, 1975, in Lake Ozark, to John H. Brotherson, who survives at the home.

She was a florist and attended First Christian Church of Eldon.

Other survivors include: one stepson, Spencer Brotherson, Early Branch, S.C.; two stepdaughters, Pam Jean, Dexter, and Debbie Pringle, Carthage; two sisters, Edna Malone, Kewanee, Ill., and Frances Hafner, Peoria, Ill.; and one step grandson.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Church of Peace United Church of Christ, Kewanee.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Rekus Funeral Home, Eldon, and from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to Church of Peace United Church of Christ.
