VETTER

Anna Marie Vetter, 90,  Jefferson City, died July 9, 2000, at Villia Marie Skilled Nursing Facility.

She was born Dec. 10, 1909, in Wardsville, a daughter of Peter and Mary Westerman Schrimpf. She was married Nov. 11, 1935, in  Jefferson City, to Francis Andrew Vetter, who died Dec. 15, 1987.

She was a homemaker and was employed at the Tweedie Shoe Company. Later, she became the co-owner of  Jefferson Cleaners with her husband.

Survivors include: three daughters, Carolyn C. Bruemmer,  Jefferson City, Sr. Cathy M. Vetter, CCVI, St. Louis, and JoAnn F. Scheidt, New Bloomfield; two sons, Ronald F. Vetter, Ridgecrest, Calif., and Louis H. Vetter,  Jefferson City; one sister, Margaret "Motzie" Schmitz,  Jefferson City; 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The. Rev. Gregory L. Higley will officiate. Entombment will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word or the Immaculate Conception Church Building Fund.

BURA

Albin J. Bura, 92, Cassville, formerly of Fulton, died July 9, 2000, at Red Rose Inn Retirement Center, Cassville.

He was born Feb. 29, 1908, in Romona, Kan., a son of Maximilian E.G. and Julio A. Pecinofsky Bura. He was married in 1934 to Thelma Lorraine Bura, who died in 1977. He was married Oct. 7, 1978, in Fulton, to Henrietta M. Briles, who survives at the home.

He was a 1928 graduate of Chillicothe Missouri Business College. He was employed as a cost accountant at Danuser Machine Company for 43 years and he served 14 years as a volunteer campground host during the summers at Roaring River Missouri State Park, Cassville.

He was a member of the Lone Scout Foundation, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, American Legion 210, Masonic Lodge AF & AM, Fulton Lodge 48, Orion Chapter 49, Calvary Commandery 28, Missouri Lodge of Research and the Moolah Temple. He attended First Christian Church, Fulton.

Other survivors include: two sons, David E. Bura, Fulton, and Terry A. Bura, Twin Lake, Mich.; two daughters, Carolyn J. Bura, Overland Park, Kan., and Doris D. Hackman, Belton; two stepdaughters, Mildred Myers, Shell Knob, and Claudine Pierson, San Diego; one stepson, Keith Briles, Medicine Lodge, Kan.; one brother, Max Bura, Wichita, Kan.; one half-brother, Aaron Bura, Emporia, Kan.; one half-sister, Miriam Riddle, Dallas; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Debo Funeral Chapel, Fulton. The Rev. Raymond McCallister and the Rev. Raymond Dunlap will officiate. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Debo Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to First Christian Church or to Trinity Presbyterian Church, Shell Knob.

SIEDHOFF

William Siedhoff, 100, El Paso, Texas , died July 7, 2000, in El Paso.

He was born July 3, 1900, in St. Louis, a son of Frank and Lena Siedhoff. He was married in 1935, in St. Louis, to Jo Biermann, who survives at the home.

He was a 1914 graduate of Froebel School and attended McKinley High School. A businessman, he was co-owner of Biermann Dairy, St. Louis, until the dairy was sold in 1956. He later worked for Bailey Farm Dairy until he retired in 1972.

Other survivors include one son, William F. Siedhoff,  Jefferson City, and one daughter, Dr. Diana Natalicio, El Paso.

Memorials are suggested to Family Support Network, St. Louis, or University of Texas at El Paso Scholarship Fund.

WIEBERG

Jerome "Jerry" Wieberg, 80, Koeltztown, died July 10, 2000, at his home.

He was born Jan. 8, 1920, in Koeltztown, a son of Herman and Catherine Boeckmenn Wieberg. He was married Aug. 13, 1941, in St. Anthony, to Lucille Casey, who survives at the home.

He served in the Army during World War II and earned two Bronze Stars. He was a welder for DeLongs, Inc.,  Jefferson City, for 30 years.

He was a member of the Argyle VFW Post 8045 and St. Boniface Catholic Church, Koeltztown.

Other survivors include: three sons, Gerald Wieberg, Wardsville, Gary Wieberg, Taos, and Robert Wieberg, Koeltztown; one brother, Andy Wieberg, Duncombe, Iowa; one sister, Aharta Libbert, Meta; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one step great-grandchild.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Koeltztown. Msgr. Bernard Boessen will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Rekus Funeral Home, Meta, with a rosary at 7 p.m., and from 8-9:30 a.m. Thursday, also at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to St. Boniface Catholic Church or Missouri River Hospice,  Jefferson City.

YORK

Vernon H. York, 61, Eldon, died July 9, 2000, in  Jefferson City.

He was born Aug. 13, 1938, in Palace, a son of Ernest and Anna Adams York. His mother survives in Plato. He was married Sept. 14, 1957, in Tupelo, Miss., to Ann Jones, who survives at the home.

He was a heavy equipment operator at Osage Asphalt Co. He was affiliated with Ole Path Baptist Church, Eldon.

Other survivors include: two sons, Vernon Ray York and Ernest Edward York, both of Eldon; two sisters, Delorise Edwards, Crocker, and Maxine Davidson, Salt Lake City, Utah; and six grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Ken Sullins will officiate. Burial will be in Palace Cemetery, Palace.

Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Wednesday.

Memorials are suggested in care of the family.

POLLY

Robert "Bob" Polly, 74, Eldon, died July 10, 2000, at Lake Regional Health Center.

He was born Aug. 11, 1925, in Camden County, a son of Albert and Janie Snelling Polly. He was married Jan. 25, 1947, in Union, to Mildred Louise Bunch, who survives at the home.

A Navy veteran of World War II, he owned and operated Polly Metals, Eldon, for 18 years. He worked for many years at Lake Ozark Construction on new road construction in Missouri and surrounding states, retiring in 1998.

Other survivors include: two sons, Ray Polly, Kimberling City, and Ron Polly, Washington ; two daughters, Phyllis Wood, Eldon, and Mary Malich, San Antonio, Texas ; one brother, John Polly, Spring Garden; two sisters, Fay Richardson, Union, and Bernice Goodson, Independence; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Rekus Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Ed Teal will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Blue Springs Cemetery, near Eldon.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday.

HICKAM

Louis M. Hickam, 79, Wooldrige, died July 10, 2000, at Columbia Regional Hospital.

He was born Dec. 13, 1920, in Wooldrige, a son of Joseph T. and Matilda Oerly Hickam. He was married Nov. 25, 1950, in Tipton, to Maxine Lademann, who survives at the home.

He attended grade school at the Lupus School and graduated high school from Prairie Home. He was a lifelong resident and farmer of the Lupus and Wooldrige communities.

He was a World War II veteran and was a specialist T-4 combat engineer in the China, Burma and India theaters. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 513 for 53 years. He was a member of V.F.W. Post 4345, California, American Legion Post 495, Wooldrige, and I.O.O.F. Far West 5, Boonville.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Linda Krickle, Independence; one brother, Hubert Hickam, Lawrenceville, Ga.; and three granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Patty Jo Epps.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Weber and Sons Chapel, California. Dr. Peter Kurowski will officiate. Burial, with military graveside services, will be in the Walnut Grove Cemetery, Boonville.

Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Weber and Sons Funeral Home, with a V.F.W. service at 8:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggest to the American Parkinson's Disease Association or St. Paul's Lutheran Church Radio Ministry, California.

FINDLAY

Nell Boone Findlay, 66,  Jefferson City, died July 12, 2000, at her home.

She was born Aug. 18, 1933, in Helena, Ark., a daughter of Wesley W. and Hattie Holloman Boone. She was married Aug. 22, 1954, in Memphis, Tenn., to R. Dale Findlay, who survives at the home.

She graduated from Central High School, Memphis. She attended Christian College, Columbia, and the University of Missouri-Columbia.

She was a home economics teacher at  Jefferson City High School, where she taught parenting and child development until her retirement in 1997. She was a teacher for 26 years. She was a member and secretary of the Missouri Retired Teachers Association.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was recently named an honorary Stephen Minister. She was a volunteer for many years at the  Jefferson City Day Care Center,  Jefferson City Area United Way, Easter Seals Society and the American Cancer Society.

Other survivors include: two sons, Paul W. Findlay, Key West, Fla., and Tom W. Findlay, West Balm Beach, Fla.; one daughter, Marilyn DeRose,  Jefferson City; two brothers, Wesley Boone, Rock Hill, S.C., and Tom Boone, Ocean Spring, Miss.; two sisters, Mary Hamilton Owen, Bryan, Texas , and Harriett Boone, Memphis; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church. Entombment will be in the Riverview Cemetery Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors,  Jefferson City.

Memorials are suggested to Habitat for Humanity or a charity of the donor's choice.

FERGUSON

Leon Mitchell Ferguson, 79,  Jefferson City, died July 10, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.

He was born Sept. 23, 1920, in Callaway County, a son of Mitchell and Lillian Adams Ferguson. He was married to Mildred Whittler, and was later married to Beatrice Gordon.

He attended Washington School and worked in construction in Columbia and Kansas City. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church in Holts Summit, where he was a deacon and a member of the missionary society. He was also a member of American Legion Post 231.

Survivors include: one daughter, Linda Harris, Columbia; two sisters, Marie A. Thompson, Kansas City, and Jessie V. Ferguson,  Jefferson City; two brothers, Paul E. Ferguson,  Jefferson City, and Charles Ferguson, Stockton, Calif.; one grandson and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. George Coleman will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. Additional visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to the Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church, Holts Summit; or to the American Cancer Society.

DRAKE

Vent T. "Tom" Drake Sr., 74, Fortuna, died July 10, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born June 27, 1926, in Fortuna, a son of Edgar T. and Arletta B. Culler Drake. He was married July 4, 1947, to Isa May Mummert, who survives at the home.

He was a retired maintenance supervisor at St. Paul School of Theology, Kansas City. He was a member of Fortuna United Methodist Church and served on their administrative council and the church board.

An Army veteran, he was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and a life member of the V.F.W., both in Sedalia. He was a member of the American Legion, Tipton, the Fraternal Order of Eagles and Fortuna Senior Citizens.

Other survivors include: three sons, Vent T. Drake Jr., Independence, and Larry Gene Drake and James L. Drake, both of Fortuna; three daughters, Kathy May Chamber, Parkville, Diane Lynn Bird, California, and Sharon Renee Johnson, Fortuna; one brother, Arnold Glen Drake, Tipton; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Fortuna United Methodist Church. The Rev. W.D. Martensen and the Rev. David Howlett will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Moreau Cemetery, near Tipton.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles.

Memorials are suggested to Fortuna United Methodist Church.

COOPER

Robert Lee Cooper, 66,  Jefferson City, died July 11, 2000, at his home.

Arrangements are incomplete at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors.
