GILPIN

Saundra Kay Gilpin, 45, Russellville, died July 12, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 12, 1954, in New Cambria, a daughter of G. Walden and Grace Osman. She was married April 8, 1990, to Stephen C. Gilpin, who survives at the home.

She was a graduate of New Cambria High School. She attended La Grange College, Hannibal, and graduated from North East Missouri State, Kirksville, with a bachelor's degree in special education.

She taught special education at schools in Centertown and Linn. Later, she worked as secretary for the Missouri Department of Corrections for 11 years and the Missouri Department of Health for eight years.

Other survivors include: three daughters, Heather Baltzell,  Jefferson City, and Connie Schmidt and Sheila Prenger, both of Taos; one brother, Walden Osman, Kansas City; two sisters, Michele Petersen, Columbia, and Cheryl Davis, New Cambria; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by an infant son.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home. The Rev. Eldon Heflin will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday.

Memorials are suggested to Northwestern University Hospital Transplant Foundation.

HARPER

Freida Colleen Harper, 75, Lebanon, formerly of Camdenton, died July 11, 2000, at Christian Health Care Lebanon South.

She was born July 11, 1925, in Zebra, a daughter of Arthur and Della Ezard Harper.

Survivors include two sisters, Edyth Norman, Lebanon, and Maxine Miller, Bendena, Kan., and one brother, Carl Harper, Camdenton.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Allee Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton. Burial will be in Conway Cemetery, Osage Beach.

Visitation will be from noon-6 p.m. today.

SCHUEMANN

Carol Ann Schuemann, 65,  Jefferson City, died July 12, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born Aug. 31, 1934, in Harlan, Iowa, a daughter of Elmer and Gladys Parker Knouse. She was married June 10, 1950, to Harry George Schuemann, who survives at the home.

She was a graduate of Harlan High School. She worked at Chesebrough-Ponds for seven years and at Maytag for five years.

Other survivors include; two sons, Steven Michael Schuemann, Harlan, and Daniel Harry Schuemann,  Jefferson City; two daughters, Jo Dee Lansford and Lu Ann McHugh, both of  Jefferson City; two brothers, Rex Knouse, Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Lowell Knouse, Harlan; one sister, Marilyn Arnold, Mesa, Ariz.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home. The Rev. John Kerr will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday.

Memorials are suggested to the American Lung Association.

SCHULTE

Judy A. Schulte, 57, Hermann, died July 11, 2000, at St. Luke's Hospital West, Chesterfield.

She was born Jan. 1, 1943, in Clinton, a daughter of Louis and Fern Sallaz. She was married June 2, 1962, in Stony Hill, to Don Schulte, who survives at the home.

She was a beautician and a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Hermann. She was a member of the Ladies Fire Auxiliary and the Washington Sewing Club.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Sheila Witte, Hermann; one sister, Bea Patton, Linn; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul United Church of Christ. The Rev. James Elliott will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Haven Memorial Gardens, Hermann.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Toedtmann and Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann.

Memorials are suggested to the St. Paul Bell Tower Fund or the American Cancer Society.

GABELSBERGER

Marge Gabelsberger, 55, Loose Creek, died July 13, 2000, at her home.

She was born May 26, 1945, in  Jefferson City, a son of Pat and Reath Smith Peters. She was married Sept. 11, 1965, in Frankenstein, to Ed Gabelsberger, who survives at the home.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Loose Creek. She was employed by the Missouri Division of Employment Security,  Jefferson City.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Debbie Welschmeyer,  Jefferson City, and Vickie Morton, Loose Creek; five brothers, Jack Peters and Ronnie Peters, both of Linn, and J.D. Peters, Bill Peters and Joe Peters, all of Frankenstein; one sister, Mary Hoelscher,  Jefferson City; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Church, Loose Creek. The Rev. Gregory Meystrik will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Morton Funeral Home, Linn, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at Morton Chapel.

Memorials are suggested to Missouri River Hospice, Columbia.

KEYES

Stella B. Keyes, 93, Iberia, died July 12, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born Nov. 2, 1906, in Hawkeye, a daughter of Fred P. and Effie M. Lawson Ferguson. She was married Aug. 31, 1926, in Waynesville, to Brent Edward Keyes, who died Oct. 13, 1971.

A 1925 graduate of Crocker High School, she sold Avon cosmetics for more than 40 years. She was a member of Iberia United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: one son, Neil Keyes, Hartsburg; one daughter, Lora Lee Bilderback, Florissant; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

One grandson preceded her in death.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia. Burial will be in Iberia Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to Iberia United Methodist Church.

LANZ

Josef Gebhard Lanz, 88, Camdenton, died July 12, 2000, at Windsor Estates, Camdenton.

He was born March 10, 1912, in Schwendi, Germany. He was married Dec. 2, 1946, in Calhoun, Ky., to Mogdline "Mary" Tongate, who died Dec. 9, 1990.

He was the owner of Joe's Rubber Stamp and Engraving.

He is survived by three sisters, Franziska Hirte, Hanna Mihailwitch and August Lanz, all of Germany.

No services are planned. Burial will be in Blair Cemetery, Camdenton.

Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton.

PAPENBROK

Herbert Papenbrok, 70, Osage Beach, died July 13, 2000, at St. Mary's Hospital, Blue Springs.

He was born July 28, 1929, in Elm Hurst, Ill., a son of Louis and Elsie Larson Papenbrok. He was married in 1952 to Charlotte Papenbrok, who survives at the home.

He was an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War and he was a member of the Lion's Club, Osage Beach. He was a retired plant superintendent for Walgreen Laboratories, Chicago.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Laura Kinsey and Lynn Ousley; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Lake Ozark. Msgr. Mike Wilbers will officiate. Entombment will be in the Lake Memorial Gardens Praying Hands Mausoleum, Osage Beach.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach.

Memorials are suggested to the Linn Creek/Osage Beach Lion's Club, P.O. Box 750, Osage Beach, Mo.

THOMPSON

O.R. "Ray" Thompson, 84, Linn, died July 13, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 8, 1915, in Belle, a son of George and Ina Rodgers Thompson. He was married Jan. 7, 1943, in  Jefferson City, to Jewell Marie Hubert, who survives at the home.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a retired farmer in the Bonnots Mill area and a member of the Linn Lodge 326 A.F. and A.M.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, Linn, and served as a deacon, trustee and chairman of the building committee.

Other survivors include: one son, Gordon Ray Thompson, Blue Springs; three daughters, Sharon Washabaugh and Dana Goldschmidt, both of  Jefferson City, and Nadine Anderson, Linn; one sister, Florence Pack,  Jefferson City; and 12 grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church. The Rev. David Krueger will officiate. Burial will be in Linn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Morton Funeral Home, Linn, with a Linn Lodge Masonic service at 7 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church Building Fund or the Parkinson's Foundation.

WILLIAMS

Jan Holmes Williams, 78, Sun City, Ariz., formerly of Lake Ozark, died July 12, at Lee's Summit Hospital.

She was born March 22, 1922, in Lake Stevens, Wash., a daughter of William and Maize Dean Knowles. She was married to Dean Holmes, who died Dec. 29, 1976. She was married Oct. 26, 1987, in Eldon, to Leonard Williams, who survives at the home.

She moved to the Lake area in 1965 and operated Mode O'Day Ladieswear in Eldon until 1976. She moved to Sun City in 1993.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Margie Irvin, Columbia; one son, Bill Holmes, Lake Ozark; three grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Rekus Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Stan Way will officiate. Burial will be in Greenmore Memorial Gardens near Barnett.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Sunday.

CRANE

Geneva L. Crane, 84, Meta, died July 14, 2000, at  Jefferson City Manor Care Center.

She was born Feb. 11, 1916, in Meta, a daughter of William and Eva Barnhart Champlain. She was married Sept. 13, 1935, in  Jefferson City, to Ogal Herman Crane, who died June 23, 1988.

A member of Meta Christian Church, he worked for Century Electric as a supervisor in St. Louis and Humbolt, Tenn.

Survivors include three brothers, Roe Champlain, Pond, Leonard Champlain, Meta, and Harold Champlain, Villa Ridge.

One infant daughter, Barbara Ann Crane, died Oct. 7, 1939.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Rekus Funeral Home, Meta. The Rev. Don H. Stoll will officiate. Burial will be in Meta Southside Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to Meta Christian Church or Meta Southside Cemetery.
