THIEL
Pauline Armstrong Thiel, 94, Laurie, died July 17, 2000, at Laurie Care Center.
She was born May 18, 1906, in Pacific Grove, Calif., a daughter of Vance L. and Clara Kelman Ellis Armstrong. She was married to George E. Thiel, who preceded her in death.
She attended Fortuna High School and Eureka Business College, California.
Survivors include: one son, Roger Thiel, the Netherlands; one daughter, Barbara Wolkey, Camdenton; one stepdaughter, June Parkton, Holiday, Fla.; one brother, MacDougall Armstrong, Arcata, Calif.; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Laurie. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday.
Memorials are suggested to a fund in her name for living trees and plants to be donated to the Laurie Garden Care Center.
APPERSON
Louie Floyd Apperson, 90, Eldon, died July 19, 2000, at Eldon Healthcare.
He was born June 13, 1910, in Eldon, a son of Floyd A. and Alpha Ora Skiles Apperson. He was married July 23, 1931, in Eldon, to Helen Dean Blackburn, who survives at the home.
A construction contractor and carpenter, he retired in 1976. He was a member of the Eldon Lions Club for more than 50 years. He was a deacon at First Baptist Church, Eldon, and served on the Eldon School Board for 11 years.
Other survivors include: one son, Larry Apperson, Eldon; two daughters, Alvia George, Jefferson City, and Priscilla Walkup, Blue Springs; two brothers, Lloyd Apperson, Reseda, Calif., and Edgar Apperson, Springfield; and 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and four great great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church, Eldon. The Rev. Randall Bunch and the Rev. Bob Buster will officiate. Burial will be in Eldon City Cemetery, Eldon.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon.
CARDWELL
James H. Cardwell, 74, Jefferson City, died July 19, 2000, at his home.
He was born Oct. 8, 1925, in Jefferson City, a son of James O. and Elfie Long Cardwell.
An Army veteran of World War II, he graduated from high school in Herrin, Ill., and attended Evansville Business College, Evansville, Ind. He owned and operated Cardwell Furniture Co. for more than 35 years.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church; the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 2693; the American Legion, Roscoe Enloe Post 5; and the B.P.O. of Elks.
Survivors include: one daughter, Linda Darlene Pullum, Gray Summit; one son, Dave Cardwell, Jefferson City; three sisters, Jamaine Sadler, Jefferson City, Delores Williams, Herrin, and Dixie Lynch, Slidell, La.; and one grandson.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Freeman Mortuary. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
DUNHAM
Lloyd W. Dunham, 80, California, died July 18, 2000, at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia.
He was born Nov. 5, 1919, in Moniteau County, a son of Ray and Lula Cooper Dunham. He was married in 1941, in Jefferson City, to Virginia Bolinger, who survives at the home.
He attended California schools and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a supervisor in the spinning and dyeing departments at California Woolen Mill, where he also worked in the office, from 1938 to 1960. He managed Leisure Lanes, California, from 1960 to 1965.
He was city administrator and city clerk of California from 1965 until his retirement in 1990. He was a member of VFW Post 4345 and volunteered at the California Nutrition Center.
Other survivors include: one son, Lanny Dunham, Houston, Texas ; one daughter, Trudy Robertson, Tipton; four sisters, Frances Mills, Juanita Barnhart and Esther Busch, all of California, and Opal Greer, Carrollton; and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California. The Rev. Dusty Klein will officiate. Burial, with military honors, will be in Flag Spring Cemetery, near California.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today.

ENLOE
Dona Belle Hall Enloe, 98, Eldon, died July 19, 2000, at Eldon Nursing and Rehab.
She was born May 3, 1902, in High Point, a daughter of Willis E. and Daly Henrietta Osick Hall. She was married Sept. 26, 1922, to Denver James Enloe, who died Dec. 16, 1981.
She attended Yarnell School, near High Point. A former resident of Russellville, she was a homemaker.
She was a member of Cole Springs Baptist Church, Russellville. She was a past member of Rock Enon Baptist Church and had attended Enon Baptist Church. She was a member of the Sherwood WPFA Club, Russellville.
Survivors include: two sons, Lester Enloe, Russellville, and Roger Enloe, Eldon; two daughters, Etheleen Armstrong, Waynesville, and Jeane Wheeler, Tolland, Conn.; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
One daughter, Dorothy Messerli, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Russellville. The Rev. Jasper Hunter and the Rev. Gary Schulte will officiate. Burial will be in Enloe Cemetery, near Russellville.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday.
Memorials are suggested to Cole Springs Baptist Church.
McFARLAND
W.T. McFarland, 78, Stover, died July 19, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 16, 1921, in Gibson, a son of Thomas and Ada Taylor McFarland.
He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a machinist for Carter Carburetor Company, St. Louis, until his retirement. He was a member of VFW Post 5178, Stover.
Survivors include one son, Donald McFarland, St. Charles, two grandsons and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles.
BOEHMER
Sylvester Joseph Boehmer, 81, Jefferson City, died July 20, 2000, at his home.
He was born Jan. 10, 1919, in Rich Fountain, a son of Frank and Bernadine Hal-ler Boehmer. He was married June 15, 1946, in Rich Fountain, to Alvina Margaret Pope, who survives at the home.
He attended Reichel's School and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was an auto mechanic at McKay Buick from 1949 until his retirement in 1981.
He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and the Holy Name Sodality, American Legion Roscoe Enloe Post 5 and VFW Roy Sone Post 1003.
Other survivors include: one son, Stephen A. Boehmer, Lee's Summit; one daughter, Mary Kay Hager, Henley; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter Catholic Church. The Rev. Donald Lammers will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Houser-Millard Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation also will be from 8-8:45 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to St. Peter Catholic Church, Community Hospice of America or the American Cancer Society.
BORGMEYER
James Conrad Borgmeyer, 72, Jefferson City, died July 20, 2000, at his home.
He was born July 18, 1928, in Koeltztown, a son of William A. and Elizabeth Ann Juergensmeyer Borg-meyer. He was married June 10, 1950, in Jefferson City, to Evelyn Angeline Collins, who survives at the home.
A 1946 graduate of St. Joseph High School, Westphalia, he was shipping dock foreman for International Shoe Co. from 1946 to 1961. He was an insurance agent and manager of Standard Insurance Co. In 1995, he retired from the Naught-Naught Agency.
He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, where he served on the Parish Council and as a communion minister. He was a member of the Holy Name Society and Dan C. Coppen Fourth Degree Assembly, Knights of Columbus.
He was a member of Helias Athletic Boosters, Host Lions Club, Sons of the American Legion and Central Bank Classic Travel Club. He was a former assistant scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 4 at St. Peter Catholic Church, where he received the St. George Award.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Janet M. Fedak, Brecksville, Ohio; three sons, David J. Borgmeyer, St. Louis, and Gene W. Borgmeyer and Randy J. Borgmeyer, both of Jefferson City; one brother, Roman A. Borgmeyer, Jefferson City; and 11 grandchildren.
One son, Ronald W. Borgmeyer, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Peter Catholic Church. The Rev. Joseph Corel will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to St. Peter Church Building Fund, the Helias Foundation or to a charity of the donor's choice.
FRIEDMAN
Laura Dell Friedman, 76, Fulton, died July 19, 2000, at her home.
She was born July 30, 1923, in Poplar Bluff, a daughter of Charles and Bertha Jeffries Helvey. She was married Aug. 19, 1950, in St. Louis, to Russell Friedman, who survives at the home.
She was a member of Central Christian Church, Eastern Star of Florissant, Fulton Host Lions Club, American Legion Auxiliary of Bay, Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers Auxiliary and Missouri Amphibious Force Auxiliary.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Patricia Friedman, Richmond, Ind., and Janet Kaufman, Houston, Texas ; one son, Mark Friedman, Fulton; three sisters, Marjorie Harris, Hot Springs Village, Ark., Charlene Franz, Owensville, and Billie Essenpreis, Creve Coeur; seven granddaughters and six great-grandchildren.
Two grandsons preceded her in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton. The Rev. Bob Vegiard and the Rev. Harold Reisch will officiate. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today.

LEUTHEN
Ronald E. Leuthen, 55, Jefferson City, died Thursday, in Jefferson City.
He was born May 10, 1945, in Corpus Christi, Texas , a son of Clarence and Kathlene Bulson Leuthen. His parents survive in Eldon. He was married July 1, 1967, to Terrie Ford, who survives in Denver. He was married June 25, 1993, to Cindy L. Stevens, who survives at the home.
An Army veteran, he graduated with a bachelor's of science degree in biology from Central Missouri State University, Warrensburg. He worked in the field of public health at state and local levels for 30 years. Most recently, he was an administrator with the Missouri Department of Health.
Other survivors include: one son, Robert E. Leuthen, Denver; one stepdaughter, Audra M. Schneider, Springfield; one sister, Loretta Ponce, Denver; and two grandsons.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. Jim Randall will officiate. Burial will be in Greenmore Memorial Gardens, Barnett.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today.
