JOHNS

James Waldo "Jimmie" Johns, 76,  Jefferson City, died Aug. 6, 2000, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility.

He was born Sept. 24, 1923, in Brookfield, a son of Waldo W. and Lola Belle Trantor Johns.

He was a 1940 graduate of Brookfield High School and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a conductor with Burlington Northern Railroad for 40 years.

Survivors include: three daughters, Kathy Barton,  Jefferson City, and Linda Hull and Peggy Cassity, both of Brookfield; one son, Lavon Johns, Brookfield; one brother, Billy Johns, Washington ; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Houser-Millard Funeral Home.

MOSIER

Elijah Glen Mosier, 88, Camdenton, died Aug. 5, 2000, at his home.

He was born Jan. 7, 1912, in Camden County, a son of Elijah R. and Josephine Gibson Mosier. He was married May 14, 1935, to Ruby May Chenoweth, who died April 9, 1986.

A Navy veteran of World War II, he worked for Missouri Electricity. He moved to the state of California and worked for Pacific Gas and Electric.

He was active in the Clovis Masonic Lodge and the American Legion, Fresno, Calif.

He moved back to Missouri after his retirement.

He was a member of Camdenton Methodist Church.

Survivors include one brother, J.C. Mosier, Camdenton, and one sister, Maxine Williams, Camdenton.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to the Pleasant Hill Cemetery Fund.

McCLURE

Mary Anna McClure, 80, Roach, died Aug. 5, 2000, at her home.

She was born May 15, 1920, in St. Joseph, a daughter of George J. and Esta Lee Shepherd Barton. She was married June 22, 1940, in Kansas City, to Melvin McClure, who survives at the home.

A homemaker, she was a member of Walk on the Water Faith Church, Osage Beach, and Beta Sigma Phi.

Other survivors include: two sons, John McClure, Lawson, and Gary McClure, Dallas, Texas ; one daughter, Patricia Hughes, Kansas City, Kan.; one brother, Jack Barton, Tulsa, Okla.; two sisters, Sarah Pierson, Canyon Lake, Texas , and Georgia Shipman, Independence; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton. The Rev. Larry Ollison will officiate. Burial will be in Roach Cemetery, Roach.

Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.

PLATT

Carmelete "Mickey" Romine Platt, 69, Raytown, died Aug. 5, 2000, at Research Medical Center, Kansas City.

She was born Sept. 25, 1930, in Sullivan, a daughter of Howard and Sara Ware.

A resident of the Kansas City area for most of her life, she worked as an order filler at McPike's Pharmaceuticals. She recently was employed as a medical technician at Windsor Estates Nursing Home.

Survivors include: two sons, Michael Romine, Kansas City, Kan., and Steven L. Romine Sr.,  Jefferson City; one sister, Betty Bailey, St. James; eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Private family services will be held. The remains were cremated.

Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association of Kansas City, 9201 Ward Parkway, Suite 300, Kansas City, Mo. 64114.

Arrangements are under the direction of Porter Funeral Home, Kansas City, Kan.

HUDDLESTON

Joanne Louise Huddleston, 67, Lake Ozark, died Aug. 7, 2000, at her home.

She was born Nov. 13, 1932, a daughter of Ludwig and Lola Johnson. She was married May 26, 1950, in Wapella, Iowa, to Joe Huddleston, who survives at the home.

She was an administrative assistant for Hazardous Material. She was a member of Lake Ozark Christian Church, Lake Ozark, and the Lake Area Brush and Palette Club.

Other survivors include: one son, Steven Huddleston, Marysville, Wash.; one daughter, Linda Gruss, West Des Moines, Iowa; one sister, Doris Middaugh, Wapella; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Lake Ozark Christian Church. The Rev. Kerry Presenell will officiate. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Harrison Cemetery, Wapella.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach.

KROLL

Philomena Elizabeth Kroll, 90,  Jefferson City, died Aug. 7, 2000, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility.

She was born Oct. 18, 1909, in St. Anthony, a daughter of Frank C. and Sophia Boedicker Kroll.

She was employed as a clerk at the Missouri Department of Revenue until her retirement in 1974. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, the Ladies Sodality and Cardinal Glennon Circle of the Daughters of Isabella.

Survivors include one brother, Victor Kroll, Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter Catholic Church. The Rev. Joseph S. Corel will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Thursday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to St. Peter Catholic Church.

THOMPSON

Stephen D. Thompson, 43, Roach, died Aug. 5, 2000, at his home.

He was born May 22, 1957, a son of Henry N. and Clara Jean Butler Thompson. His mother survives in Harrisonville.

He was a self-employed carpenter.

Other survivors include: two sons, Fairfax Thompson and Philip "Will" Thompson, both of Roach; three brothers, Jim Thompson, Camdenton, John Thompson, Roach, and Romie Thompson, Harrisonville; six sisters, Edna Cunningham, Lois Gray, and Kay Isle, all of Harrisonville, JoAnn Husky, Shawnee, Kan., Eva Snider, Lebanon, and Valerie Thompson, Osceola; and two grandsons.

Services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton. The body will be cremated.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday.

ARNOLD

Raymond "Sonny" Arnold, 37, Iberia, died Aug. 7, 2000, near St. Anthony, in a traffic accident.

He was born Dec. 31, 1962, in Clifton Forge, Va., a son of Stanley and Patty Nicely Arnold. His father survives in Middlebrook, Va. His mother survives in Scotland. He was married June 18, 1994, in Brumley, to Jami Michelle Fry, who survives at the home.

He was a 1982 graduate of Hayfield High School in Fairfax, Va. He was a truck driver for Miller County, a volunteer with the Brumley Fire Department and a member of the First Baptist Church, Iberia. He was a former bullrider.

Other survivors include: two sons, Derek Luttrell, Iberia, and Dexter Arnold, Conway; three daughters, Amanda Stradt, Conway, and Kaitlin Luttrell and Skylar Arnold, both of Iberia.; three brothers, James Arnold and George Arnold, both of Lebanon, and Stanley Dean Arnold, Killeen, Texas ; two sisters, Tammy Arnold and Crystal Stephens, both of Stoutland; and paternal grandmother Dollie Moon, Staunton, Va.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Glen Golden will officiate. Burial will be in Hickory Point Cemetery, near Iberia.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia, and from noon-2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church.

Memorials are suggested to the Brumley Volunteer Fire Department.

ATWILL

Vera G. Atwill, 90, Naples, Fla., formerly of Iberia, died Aug. 7, 2000, in Naples.

She was born Dec. 25, 1909, in Iberia, a daughter of James A. and Lou Bond Eads. She was married Feb. 4, 1933, in Iberia, to Oral V. Atwill, who died Oct. 15, 1990.

A graduate of Iberia Academy, she was a 1931 graduate of Drury College, Springfield. She began teaching in Olean and later taught at Iberia High School. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Iberia.

Survivors include: one son, Jack Atwill, Miami Lakes, Fla.; two brothers, H. Ford Eads, Cleburne, Texas , and James Eads, Iberia; one sister, Veta Claiborn,  Jefferson City; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, Iberia. The Rev. Glen Golden will officiate. Burial will be in Iberia Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Friday at the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia.
