BRUEMMER

Betty Lou Bruemmer, 71,  Jefferson City, died Aug. 11, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born July 19, 1929, in Iberia, a daughter of Fred and Eunice Huetsler Spearman. She was married Oct. 11, 1952, to Paul Pete Bruemmer who survives at the home.

A 1947 graduate of Iberia High School, she worked as a sales clerk with Herman's Department Store and attended Drury College. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Eagle Club Auxiliary.

Survivors include: one son, Paul D. Bruemmer, Los Angeles, Calif.; three sisters, Juanita Dake, Kansas City, Kan., Dorothy Green, Minneapolis, Minn., and Freddie Carroll, St. Charles; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patty Bruemmer.

Services are at 2 p.m. Monday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. The Rev. Michael F. Quinn will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. today at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to Hospice of  Jefferson City and mid-Missouri.

JACOBS

Lt. Shawn Jacobs, 30, Corpus Christi, Texas , died Aug. 10, 2000, in Corpus Christi.

He was born Oct. 3, 1969, in  Jefferson City, a son of Shirley Choate and Steve Jacobs, who both survive. He married Feb. 13, 1999, in Corpus Christi, to Amy Bridges, who survives at the home.

A 1988 graduate of  Jefferson City High School, he received his officer commissioning when he graduated from Auburn University. He received his wings in Pensacola, Fla., and was stationed in Corpus Christi, Texas , as pilot of the HM-15 Seadragon. Prior to becoming a pilot in the U.S. Navy, his positions included Dive Team, Explosive Ordinance Team, Mammal Team and a body guard for the U.S. vice president.

During the Kosovo conflict, he was on the humanitarian flight carrying the food and necessities for the refugees. Upon his return from Kosovo, he became a lieutenant. He then became a senior squadron leader at Corpus Christi, Texas .

Other survivors include: maternal grandparents, Orville and Wilda Stieferman,  Jefferson City; two brothers, Shanon Jacobs, Indianapolis, Ind., and Aden Jacobs,  Jefferson City; two stepbrothers, Jason Choate, Virginia, and Chris Choate,  Jefferson City; and two stepsisters.

Family services are Tuesday in Corpus Christi, with military memorial services Aug. 17 there.

Local memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, at Concord Baptist Church.

Memorials are suggested to Turkey Hill Bible Camp, Freeburg.

RACKERS

Services were Aug. 10 in Lenexa, Kan., for William A. Rackers, 66, Overland Park, Kan., who died Aug. 5, 2000, at his home.

He was born Nov. 1, 1933, in  Jefferson City, a son of William and Elizabeth Bellman Rackers. He was married Sept. 26, 1970, in Kansas City, to Sharlette Rosen, who survives at the home.

A veteran of the Korean War, he received a degree in civil engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He was a registered professional engineer and registered land surveyor.

He worked for the Missouri Pacific Railroad Construction Division for two years. He was retired from the Kansas City District Corps of Engineers, where he had been employed in the Design Branch, Engineering Division, for 32 years. He was a lifetime member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Other survivors include: one son, Michael Rackers, Olathe, Kan.; one daughter, Beth Huttie, Kansas City; two brothers, Raymond Rackers and Clifford Rackers, both of  Jefferson City; two sisters, Agnes Walther, Vienna, Va., and Georgia Rackers,  Jefferson City; and one grandchild.

Services were at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, Shawnee, Kan.

Arrangements were under the direction of Charter Funerals-Kansas Chapel.

RIDENHOUR

Fay Erlyne Ridenhour, 70, Belle, died Aug. 11, 2000, at her home.

She was born March 4, 1930, in St. James, a daughter of Albert E. and Thelma Fay Pilger Tomlinson. She was married Jan. 10, 1948, to Walter Ridenhour, who survives at the home.

A nurse and dental hygienist in her early years of marriage, she was the librarian at Thomas  Jefferson Library in Belle for 26 years. She was an active member of the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. She sang at many weddings, funerals and church services and participated in two separate community productions of "Nunsense." She was also an Emergency Medical Technician for her community.

Survivors include: two sons, Randal, Washington , and Rodell, Parkville; two daughters, Rachelle, Oakwood, Ohio, and Renita, Pickerington, Ohio; and 11 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one granddaughter.

Services are at 10 a.m. Monday at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Belle. The Revs. John Faszholz and Norman Bahlow will officiate. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery, Belle.

Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. today at Sassmann's Funeral Service Chapel in Belle.

WALSH

Services were Aug. 5 in Four Oaks, N.C., for Mary Tudor Walsh, formerly of  Jefferson City, who died July 29, 2000, at Smithfield Manor in Smithfield, N.C.

She was born April 23, 1915, in Neosho, a daughter of D.W. and Daisy McCombs Tudor. She married Feb. 4, 1934, to the Rev. Edward T. Walsh Sr., who preceded her in death.

Survivors include: two sons, Edward T. "Ned" Walsh Jr., Four Oaks, and John Tudor Walsh, Redlands, Calif.; two sisters, Jessie Hirtl, Cincinnati, and Phyllis Wilkinson, Springfield; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

An award-winning journalist and writer, she was the author of "Assignment: Light Bearers," commissioned by the Missouri Baptist Women's Missionary Union and was a contributing correspondent to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and Home Life magazine. She was awarded numerous writing awards from the Missouri Press Writers Association for her work as city editor of the Daily Dunklin Democrat in Kennett.

As press officer for the Missouri Department of Agriculture, she assisted in annual plans for the Missouri State Fair. During the 1950s and 1960s, she was active in Missouri Baptist mission work in the area of racial reconciliation.

Services were private. Burial will be later in  Jefferson City.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.

COCHRAN

Dorothea Ruth Cochran, 88, Versailles, died Aug. 11, 2000, at the Good Shepherd Care Center, Versailles.

She was born March 15, 1912, in St. Louis, a daughter of William J. and Dorothy Tecklenburg McHattie. She was married to Robert Graydon Cochran, who died Sept. 5, 1996.

She was a retired bank loan officer.

The remains were cremated.

Arrangements were under the direction of Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles.

GLOVER

Grace Ellen Phillips Glover, 98,  Jefferson City, died Aug. 14, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born Oct. 19, 1901, in Atchison, Kan., a daughter of John H. and Mary Ellen Warters Phillips. She was married in 1930 in Mexico to James A. Glover, who died in 1978.

She attended school in rural Audrain County. She had lived in the  Jefferson City area since 1941 and was a resident of Dulle Towers from 1972 until 1999. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

She managed Glover's Market, formerly Gensky's Market, for several years and was later employed at Ferguson's Grocery and the Milo Walz Hardware Store until her retirement in 1974.

Survivors include: one daughter, Jeannette Ann Smith,  Jefferson City; one son, James M. Glover,  Jefferson City; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. R.W. Beard will officiate. Entombment will be in the mausoleum of Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church.

Memorials are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church or the American Diabetes Association.

Arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

NOROIAN

Louise Mary Noroian, 76, Eldon, died Aug. 13, 2000, in Eldon.

She was born Feb. 2, 1924, in St. Mary's, a daughter of Joseph and Mabel Guitar Holland. She was married to Ben Noroian, who died March 21, 1966.

She was owner and operator of the Claymont Center at the Lake, where she had lived for 40 years.

Survivors include: two sons, Ben Noroian and Larry Noroian, both of Lake Ozark; one sister, Gladys Souer, St. Louis; one brother, Ernest Holland, St. Mary's; and six grandchildren.

The remains were cremated. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Bellefontaine Cemetery, St. Louis.

Arrangements are under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon.

NICOLI

Clifford H. Nicoli, 70, Stoutland, died Aug. 13, 2000, at his home.

He was born July 28, 1930, in Whatcheer, Iowa, a son of Clifford H. and Lucille Carnahan Nicoli. He was married Sept. 2, 1961, in Gainesville, to Carole Echelberry, who survives at the home.

He was a farmer.

Other survivors include: one son, Darwin Nicoli, Laquey; three daughters, Glenda Johnson, Laquey, Lynda Beck, San Antonio, Texas , and Brenda Ferguson, St. Robert; and eight grandchildren.

No services are planned.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton.
