GARBER

Rosalie Garber, 66, Stover, died April 4, 1999, at University of Missouri-Colmbia Hospital and Clinics.

She was born Sept. 30, 1932, in Fort Smith, Ark., a daughter of Ralph W. and Pauline Weishaupt Cummins. She was married Feb. 23, 1951, in Kansas City, to Donald Garber, who survives at the home.

She was a homemaker and a member of the PTA at the local and state levels. She was a member of the Christian Church of the Ozarks, near Ivy Bend.

Other survivors include: two sons, David Garber, North Platte, Neb., and Kenneth Garber, Gladstone; one daughter, Audrey Grimes, Smithville; and six granddaughters.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Stover. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Urich Cemetery, Urich.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday.

Memorials are suggested to the Ivy Bend First Responders.

GRAHAM

Bruce Roy Gene Graham, 71, Holts Summit, died April 3, 1999, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born June 27, 1927, in Norfolk, Ark., a son of Henry H. and Ada Lee Clark Graham. He was married Oct. 26, 1946, to Anna Raybourn, who survives at the home.

He graduated from Kansas City Central High School and served in the Navy during World War II. He worked for Burlington Railroad, Crete, Neb., Gulf Mobile and Ohio Railroad, Vandalia, and G.M. & O. Railroad and Illinois Central Railroad, Auxvasse. He worked for the railroads for 34 years, retiring in 1984.

A licensed real estate broker, he founded Graham Real Estate Agency and Graham Insurance Agency. He also began Graham Subdivision, Auxvasse. He formed Universal Industries, Inc., and developed land in Holts Summit. He also founded and operated Graham Manufactured Home Sales and a manufacturing plant for homes. He co-owned NASCAR Capital Speedway, Holts Summit, and was active in racing until 1993.

He served on the Auxvasse City Council and the R-1 North Callaway School Board. He was a member of the Audrain County Board of Realtors and the State and National Association of Independent Insurance Agents. He was a member of the New Bloomfield Masonic Lodge 60 and the Holts Summit Optimist Club.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Jeanie Moser, Auxvasse, and Janet Christopher, Fredericksburg, Va.; one son, Bruce E. Graham, Auxvasse; five brothers, James Graham, Lee's Summit, Robert Graham, state of Pennsylvania , Lee Schauffler, Norfolk, Ark., Nick Schuh, Blue Springs, and Carl Schuh, state of Arkansas; one sister, Mary Jo Speaks, Memphis, Tenn.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Maupin Funeral Home, Fulton.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to the St. Jude Children's Hospital, 1 St. Jude Place Bldg., P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 300, Memphis, Tenn. 38148-0552.

HOLT

Betty Jean Holt, 73,  Jefferson City, died April 5, 1999, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born Sept. 13, 1925, in Carrollton, a daughter of Emory M. and Elizabeth Rener Carter. She was married June 27, 1951, in Kansas City, to Russell B. Holt, who survives at the home.

A 1945 graduate of Carrollton High School, she received a bachelor's degree in education from Central Missouri State Teachers College, Warrensburg, in 1950. She taught at rural schools in Carroll County for three years, and in Independence for two years. She taught at several  Jefferson City public elementary schools for 32 years until her retirement in 1990.

She was a 45-year member of Union Hill Baptist Church, Holts Summit, where she taught Sunday school. She was a member of the Missouri State Teachers Association and volunteered with the Head Start program after her retirement.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Dr. Elizabeth Holt, Baltimore; one son, Dr. Charles A. Holt, Indianapolis; one brother, Dr. James B. Carter, Laguna Hills, Calif.; one sister, Lucille Carter, Kansas City; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Union Hill Baptist Church. The Rev. James Preston and the Rev. G. Dale Norfolk will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Freeman Mortuary, and from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to Union Hill Baptist Church Building Fund, Holts Summit.

HILDEBRAND

Mary E. Hildebrand, 87,  Jefferson City, died April 5, 1999, at  Jefferson City Manor.

She was born Dec. 18, 1911, in Cole County, a daughter of Frank and Henrietta Zimmerman Lammers. She was married April 5, 1931, in Linn, to C. George Hildebrand, who died April 15, 1992.

She was a homemaker and a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church.

Survivors include: two sons, Charles Hildebrand and Larry Hildebrand, both of  Jefferson City; one daughter, Georgia Dorsey, Arcadia, Mich.; one brother, Lawrence Lammers, Hartsburg; one sister, Dora Schroer,  Jefferson City; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

One grandson preceded her in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to St. Peter's School.

LUNA

Elsie L. Luna, 85, Tipton, died April 5, 1999, at her home.

She was born Nov. 22, 1913, in Cookville, a daughter of Thomas J. and Neda M. Robinson Woody. She was married July 12, 1931, in Waynesville, to Fred Thomas Luna, who died Aug. 15, 1997.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist church.

Survivors include: one son, Jack Luna, Tipton; one daughter, Deloris Jones, Tipton; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and eight great great-grandchildren.

One daughter, Donna Jean Moon, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. The Rev. J.D. Cooper will officiate. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery, Tipton.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday.

SCHULL

Oral E. Schull, 91, California, died April 4, 1999.

He was born Oct. 27, 1907, in McGirk, a son of W.H. and Anna Warren Schull. He was married Feb. 24, 1932, in California, to Lucy Coleman, who survives at the home.

He attended Bethel School and was a farmer and worked in the maintenance garage for the Missouri Highway Department, retiring in 1974.

He was a member of the Modern Woodman for 70 years and the First Baptist Church, California. He was ordained as a deacon at Mount Zion Baptist Church, near Jamestown, serving Jamestown Baptist Church, Prairie Home Baptist Church and First Baptist Church, California.

Survivors include: one daughter, Elaine Volkart, California; one granddaughter, one step grandson, two great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California. The Rev. Greg Morrow and the Rev. Ivan Dameron will officiate. Burial will be in California City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to Mt. Zion Cemetery, c/o Gerald Borts, 607 North Owen, California, Mo. 65018.

SUTFIN

Sanford Sutfin, 62, Lake Ozark, died April 3, 1999, at St. Marys Health Center.

He was born Jan. 13, 1937, in Mesa, Ariz., a son of Merritt and Mae Troutman Sutfin. His mother, Mae Bopes, survives in Florrisant. He was married May 12, 1956, in St. Louis, to Betty Rottmann, who survives at the home.

He was an Army veteran and served as a St. Louis City police officer for 26 years.

He was a member of Corner Stone United Methodist Church, Lake Ozark, and Masonic Pride of the West Lodge 179, St. Louis.

Other survivors include: one son, Merritt Sutfin, Lake Ozark; two daughters, Donna Huber and Nancy Strathman, both of Florissant; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach. The Rev. Doug Walters will officiate. Entombment will be in Lake Memorial Gardens Cemetery Praying Hands Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, with Masonic services at 7 p.m.

TIBERGHIEN

Services were today for W. Eugene "Gene" Tiberghien, 76, Duluth, Ga., who died April 3, 1999, at Joan Glancy Hospital, Duluth.

He was born July 15, 1922, in Chillicothe, a son of Charles B. and Garnet Sharon Tiberghien. He was married Feb. 13, 1943, in Fort Knox, Ky., to Alberta C. Veltrop, who died in December 1997.

He attended schools in  Jefferson City and was an Army veteran of World War II.

He worked for Vantress Farms of Georgia at the Arkansas branch and later at the Georgia headquarters. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Duluth from 1974 until his retirement in 1988. He also worked for State Bridge Wal-Mart.

Survivors include: four daughters, Dolores Stamps and Barbara Rollins, both of Springdale, Ark., Deborah Brown, Duluth, and Michele Thompson, Auburn, Ga.; three sons, Rick Tiberghien, Glen Ellyn, Ill., and Doug Tiberghien and Stephen Tiberghien, both of Duluth; one brother, Bob Tiberghien, California; two sisters, Betty Dampf, Florissant, and Helen Craig, Fulton; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services were at St. Patricks Catholic Church, Norcross, Ga. Burial was in North Atlanta Memorial Park, Doraville, Ga.

Memorials are suggested to the St. Vincent De Paul Society or the American Heart Association.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bill Head Funeral Home, Duluth.

VANCE

Charlene Louise James Vance, 60, Rocky Mount, died April 5, 1999, at Lake of the Ozarks General Hospital, Osage Beach.

She was born May 14, 1938, in Rock Island, Ill., a daughter of Charles C. and Sophia Jausi Carlson. She was married Dec. 14, 1994, in Aledo, Ill., to Russell Vance, who survives.

She was retired from the Muscatine County Residential Home, Muscatine, Iowa, where she worked as a medical aide. She was a member of Camp Chapel Assembly of God, Rocky Mount. She was a member of the Hello Dolly Doll Club; the Miller County Historical Society; and the Louisa County Historical Society.

Other survivors include: one son, David James, Muscatine; two stepsons, Russell Vance Jr., Muscatine, and Robert Vance, Mediapolis, Iowa; four stepdaughters, Veda Vance, Eva Stephens, Judy Sehley and Lisa Vance, all of Muscatine; five step grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 7:30 p.m. today at Mossman & Hess Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Paul Brewer will officiate. Burial will be in Island Cemetery, Fruitland, Iowa.

Visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. today.

BIRCH

Sheila Marie Wilkey Birch, 35, Vero Beach, Fla., formerly of Camdenton, died April 4, 1999, at her home.

She was born June 7, 1963, in Lebanon, a daughter of William C. "Bill" and Sharon K. Bethurem Wilkey. Her father and stepmother, William and Joann L. Wilkey, survive in Independence.

She had lived in Vero Beach, Fla., for the past four years. She was employed as a legal secretary.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Amber Birch, Vero Beach; one brother, Michael Wilkey, Kansas City; and one sister, Tonya Williams, Blue Springs.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Allee-Reed Funeral Home, Camdenton. Burial will be in Allee Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday.
