COLE
Ethel Parker Cole, 89, Lebanon, died Aug. 31, 2000, at Christian Health South, Lebanon.
She was born in 1911. She was married to Alvin F. Cole, who survives at the home.
She was an educator and a foster home care specialist for the Division of Family Services, Jefferson City. She retired as director of the staff training for the Missouri Department of Social Services in 1976.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Neville Sue Rapp, University City; four sons, Michael Graham, Parkers Prairie, Minn., Sam L. Graham, Ankeny, Iowa, Dan F. Cole, Sun Set Hills, and David A. Cole, University Park, Texas ; and 11 grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church, Buffalo. Graveside services will be at 1:45 p.m. Saturday at Forest Park Cemetery, Joplin.
Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. today at Montgomery-Viets Funeral Home, Buffalo.
Memorials are suggested to a Memorial Scholarship Fund in her name at the Department of Development at Drury University, Springfield.
EDWARDS
Services were today for Gladys A. Peterson Edwards, 75, Fenton, who died Aug. 29, 2000, in St. Louis County.
She was born April 19, 1925, in Jefferson City, a daughter of Jesse M. and Hattie Maude Blythe Peterson.
She worked as a bookbinder for Color Art Printing Co. until her retirement in 1990.
A 44-year resident of North Jefferson County, she did volunteer work at Feed My People.
Survivors include: two daughters, Darlene Lowe, Splendora, Texas , and Carla Marie Wolfmeier, House Springs; one brother, Claude "Short" Peterson, state of Arkansas; three sisters, Edythe Hartley, Columbia, and Blanche Wolf and Helen Phenenger, both of Jefferson City; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
One daughter, Regina Sue Santhuff, preceded her in death.
Services were held at Chapel Hill Mortuary, Cedar Hill. The Rev. Dan Wisely officiated. Burial was in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
HURT
Floyd Edward Hurt, 64, Camdenton, died Aug. 30, 2000, at St. John's Hospital, Springfield.
He was born May 1, 1936, in Marshfield, a son of William W. and Essie Reeves Hurt. He was married Feb. 7, 1953, to Janice Darlene Jones, who survives at the home.
He attended school in Conway and was a grocery worker in Lebanon and Dixon. He owned Camdenton United Super for 20 years. He was a longtime member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge No. 2322.
Other survivors include: one son, Danny Hurt, Macks Creek; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Gary Hurt and David Hurt.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton. Pastor Dean Davis will officiate. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Graceland Cemetery, Conway.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to Graceland Cemetery.
SEYMORE
Bennie Murl Seymore, 76, Belle, died Aug. 30, 2000, at a Jefferson City hospital.
He was born Dec. 10, 1923, a son of Walter and Myrtle Carter Seymore. He was married June 27, 1942, in Belle, to Ruby Green, who survives at the home.
He was a rural mail carrier on the Belle to High Gate route and was retired from the Belle Counter Factory.
He was a member of the Skaggs Chapel Church and the Liberty Church of Christ in Belle.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Shelby Michel and Barbara Keeney, both of Belle; one son, Murl Seymore, Belle; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Liberty Church of Christ. The Rev. Leroy Nixon and the Rev. Randy Carr will officiate. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery, Belle.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Sassmann's Funeral Service, Belle.
BAILEY
Ralph E. Bailey, 78, Loose Creek, died Sept. 1, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born Sept. 22, 1921, in Freeburg, a son of Martin L. and Eleanor Clarkson Bailey. He was married Sept. 25, 1943, in Bonnots Mill, to Elizabeth "Betty" Lock, who survives at the home.
He attended high school in Vienna and earned a degree in business administration from the University of Missouri in 1942. He later received his teaching degree from the University of Missouri. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He was president and owner of the Heritage Bank in Loose Creek and Taos for many years before retiring in 1997. He owned and operated Bonnots Mill Oil Co. for several years. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Loose Creek.
Other survivors include: three sons, Kenneth Bailey, Mark Bailey and Norman Bailey, all of Loose Creek; three daughters, Kathryn Peters and Diana Eynard, both of Loose Creek, and Ann Bailey, Boulder, Colo.; one brother, Arnold Bailey, St. Peters; three sisters, Dorothy Ortmann, Creve Coeur, and Jean Souffett and Colleen Cook, both of Lower Lake, Calif.; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Church, Loose Creek. The Rev. Greg Meystrik will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. today at Morton Funeral Home, Linn.
Memorials are suggested to Immaculate Conception School, Loose Creek.
BRODHACKER
Fred J. Brodhacker, 53, Jefferson City, died Aug. 31, 2000, in Columbia.
He was born Feb. 12, 1947, in St. Louis, a son of Joseph L. and Jeanne Wilkerson Brodhacker. His mother survives in Columbia.
A lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area, he was a 1965 graduate of Jefferson City High School. While at the Simonsen Junior High School, he created the mascot Casper the Cub. He also graduated from Lincoln University with a bachelor of science in art education and a minor in philosophy.
He served two tours of duty in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was awarded the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Lyvia Jean Fullerton, Shreveport, La.; one sister, Linda Gash, Columbia; three brothers, Jon Brodhacker, Westminster, Colo., David Brodhacker, Thornton, Colo., and Joseph Brodhacker, Columbia; and one grandson.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. Thomas W. Nelson will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Monday.

GUNN
Dr. Jack Gunn, 77, Versailles, died Sept. 1, 2000, at his home.
He was born March 5, 1923, in Versailles, a son of Dr. Aubrey J. and Alma Clodfelter Gunn. He was married March 22, 1948, to Marjorie Curry, who died Dec. 24, 1984. He was married in 1991 to Glenda Bare, who survives at the home.
He was a graduate of Westminster College and a 1949 graduate of Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. An Army veteran of World War II, he interned at General Hospital in Kansas City and joined the staff at the Gunn Clinic in Versailles in 1950, where he practiced until his recent retirement.
He was a member of the American Academy of Family Practice, American Geriatrics and AARR Surgeons. He served as Morgan County coroner for several years.
Other survivors include: three sons, Stephen Gunn, Columbia, Andrew Gunn, Signal Mountain, Tenn., and Gregory Gunn, Columbia; two daughters, Dr. Victoria Gunn Henry, Jefferson City, and Martha Dunagin, Franklin, Pa.; one brother, Gregory Gunn, St. Louis; one sister, Martha Carr, Eldon; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. The Rev. Fred J. Barnett and the Rev. Gary DeWitt will officiate. Burial will be in Versailles Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.

HOLTMEYER
Edward O. Holtmeyer, 70, Kansas City, died Aug. 29, 2000, in Kansas City as a result of injuries sustained in a pedestrian/automobile accident.
He was born Jan. 21, 1930, in St. Elizabeth, a son of Theodore G. and Katie Franken Holtmeyer. He was married to Maxine Holtmeyer, who preceded him in death.
He attended school in St. Elizabeth, then moved to Kansas City. He was a retired factory worker.
Survivors include: four brothers, Theodore J. Holtmeyer, Laurie, Fred Holtmeyer, Shawnee, Kan., Winfred Holtmeyer, Kansas City, and Richard Holtmeyer, St. Louis; and three sisters, Henrietta Schaffer, Holts Summit, Annabell Schmutzler, Osage Bend, and Delores Darveaux, Carter Lake, Iowa.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sheil Funeral Home, Kansas City.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.
MCKINNON
J.R. McKinnon, 51, Jefferson City, formerly of Vienna, died Sept. 1, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born Sept. 28, 1948, in Waynesville, a son of Jessie and Alma Blackwell McKinnon. He was married July 3, 2000, in Jefferson City, to Deloma Miller, who survives at the home.
He was a 1966 graduate of Vienna High School and an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was employed at DeLong's for the past 18 years.
A master barbecue chef, he cooked for many functions and competed in cookouts, including the Missouri State Fair, where he finished second and third. He also designed and manufactured his own cooking grills.
He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Jefferson City, and the Vienna Eagles Club.
Other survivors include: one son, Eric James McKinnon, Greenwood; one daughter, Tracy Lynn Flannery, Kansas City; two brothers, LeRoy McKinnon and Ricky Lynn McKinnon, both of Rolla; and eight sisters, Mary Lea Sneed and Ruth Denton, both of Dixon, Elsie Quattawona, Milwaukee, Vivian Rowe and Patricia Welker, both of Columbia, Ina Kleffner and Beverly Wilson, both of St. Louis, and Kathy Addington, Trussville, Ala.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter Catholic Church. The Rev. Donald Lammers will officiate. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Jefferson City.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. The Rev. Robert Fields will officiate. Visitation also will be from 8-9:30 a.m. Tuesday.
