COLTER
Frieda M. Colter, 76, Jefferson City, died Sept. 12, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 3, 1924, in Jefferson City, a daughter of James C. and Alice E. Martin Roark. She was married to Tho-mas E. Colter, who died in June 1964.
A homemaker, she worked as a nurses aide at St. Marys Health Center for 10 years. She also was employed by Tweedies Shoe Factory and United Telephone.
She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one son, Thomas "Benny" Colter, Jefferson City; one daughter, Joyce Weaver, Springfield; one brother, Jack D. Roark, Bonne Terre; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home. The Rev. David Phelps will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday.
Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
PERRY
Eleanor M. LaVallee Perry, 78, Lake Ozark, died Sept. 11, 2000, at Lake Regional Health Center, Osage Beach.
She was born July 21, 1922, in Waterbury, Vt., a daughter of Robert and Margaret Lavoie Egan. She was married to Henry R. LaVallee, who preceded her in death. She was married Oct. 11, 1986, to Ken Perry, who survives at the home.
She worked as a nurse in Vermont. After retiring, she did work for the Vermont Association of the Blind. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Burlington, Vt.
She moved to Lake Ozark in 1986 and volunteered at Osage Beach Hospital. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Church, Lake Ozark, where she was a eucharistic minister. She was a secretary for the OLL Ladies Workshop and was a member of the Mended Hearts Program.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Eleanor Vincent, Burlington; one son, Richard LaVallee, South Lincoln, Vt.; one stepdaughter, Lana Hansen, Lenexa, Kan.; one stepson, Tom Perry, Lenexa; one brother, John Egan, Buffalo, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren.
One son, John Michael LaVallee, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of the Lake Church. A prayer service will be at St. Joseph's Church in Burlington at a later date.

BERTRAND
Arta L. Bertrand, 90, Camdenton, died Sept. 11, 2000, at Windsor Estates, Camdenton.
She was born Feb. 18, 1910, in Lamar, a daughter of A.J. and Nora Lee Hackney Egbert. She was married Nov. 11, 1931, to Matthew Curby Bertrand, who died May 23, 1976.
She moved to Camdenton in 1946 and co-operated The Spot restaurant on the square. She attended the Christian Church. She had been a member of the Eastern Star in Camdenton, and of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Golden, Colo.
Survivors include one daughter, Bevne Roe, Camdenton, three grandsons and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Laughlin Cemetery, Camdenton. Billie Huddleston will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton.
KROEGER
Helen C. Kroeger, 87, Jefferson City, died Sept. 12, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born Aug. 18, 1913, in Jefferson City, a daughter of William and Florence Strott Kroeger.
She graduated from Jefferson City High School and studied nursing at Lincoln University. She worked as a physician's aide for Dr. Leon Taylor, retiring in 1974. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.
Survivors include one sister, Ruth Rost, Jefferson City.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. Gregory Higley will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Friday.
Memorials are suggested to Immaculate Conception Church or to the Special Learning Center.
ROARK
Clifford Minzio Roark, 73, New Haven, died Sept. 13, 2000, at his home.
He was born July 9, 1927, in St. James, a son of Charles and Malissie Roark. He was married to Geraldine Berdolt, who preceded him in death. He was married to Bertha Marie Futhey, who survives at the home.
He was a Marine Corps veteran. He was a self-employed heavy machine operator and played guitar with Ernest Tubb. He was a member of Reedville Baptist Church, Sullivan, and American Legion Post 0366, New Haven.
Other survivors include: five daughters, Kathlinee Ann Hake, Jefferson City, Carla Sondra Masterson and Karen Lee Roark, both of Evansville, Ind., Jill Joy Shelton, Green Forest, Ark., and Theresa Sue Roark, Union; eight stepchildren; one brother, Charles "Ted" Roark, Fredricktown; one sister, Rosella Smith, Sullivan; seven grandchildren, 21 step grandchildren, one great-grandchild and four step great-grandchildren.
One grandson preceded him in death.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Pitman-Brown Funeral Home, Warrenton. Pastor Dane Keeley will officiate. Burial, with military honors, will be in Jonesburg City Cemetery, Jonesburg.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday.

RENICK
Dolores J. Renick, 69, Jefferson City, died Sept. 12, 2000, at Appleridge Care Center, Waverly.
She was born Oct. 25, 1930, in Jefferson City, a daughter of Thomas R. and Marie P. Stetzenback Mason. She was married April 15, 1950, in Jefferson City, to Harold H. Renick, who died April 19, 1974.
A graduate of Jefferson City High School, she was a homemaker. She was employed as a grocery clerk at Hardin's Grocery Store, and worked at Renick's Shoe Repair Shop and Cleaners. She also had been employed in the dietary departments of several local nursing homes.
She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one daughter, Marie Ann Renick, Ironton; one brother, Henry Victor Mason, Hampton, Va.; and one sister, Rosella Wells, Shell Knob.
One son, Harold H. Renick Jr., died in February 1955.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Riverview Cemetery. The Rev. Thomas W. Nelson will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Gideons International.

BUSCHER
Nelma Fae Buscher, 89, Jefferson City, died Sept. 14, 2000, at Jefferson City Residential Care Center.
She was born Feb. 18, 1911, in Washington County, a daughter of Lewis and Tennie Detherage Armon. She was married Jan. 21, 1931, to Ellis F. Buscher, who died Nov. 13, 1980.
A homemaker, she has lived in the Jefferson City area for the past 12 years. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: one daughter, Barbara Brown, Jefferson City; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
One son, Malcolm "Bud" Buscher, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Boyer Funeral Home, Bonne Terre. The Rev. David Conley will officiate. Burial will be in St. Francois Memorial Cemetery, Bonne Terre.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday.
Memorials are suggested to the Wesley United Methodist Church building fund.

CHRISTENSON
Robert H. "Bob" Christenson, 74, Rocky Mount, died Sept. 13, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 2, 1925, in Prairie Farm, Wis., a son of Herman and Grace Christenson. He was married Aug. 23, 1947, to Anna May Johnson, who died Oct. 6, 1984.
He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and a graduate of Purdue University. He was a member of Rolling Hills Country Club and Westminister Presbyterian Church, Versailles, where he served on the board of elders.
Survivors include: two sons, Eric Robert Christenson, Tualatin, Ore., and Jeffrey Carl Christenson, Lake Ozark; one daughter, Barbara Ann Christenson, Lake Oswego, Ore.; one sister, Barbara Myers, Tigard, Ore.; and two grandsons.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Westminister Presbyterian Church, Versailles, with fellowship time following.
Memorials are suggested to Habitat for Humanity, Morgan County, or the American Diabetes Association.
