PARKES

Inez Iola Parkes, 78, California, died Sept. 25, 2000, at her home.

She was born March 19, 1922, in Bond County, Ill., a daughter of Vern H. and Ida Long Price. She was married April 16, 1941, in Springfield, Ill., to H. Elbert Parkes, who died Feb. 7, 1993.

She was a homemaker and worked at Biltwell Clothing Factory, Salisbury. A past resident of Keytesville, she was a member of Keytesville United Methodist Church. She was active in the Keytesville community.

Survivors include: two sons, Elbert V. Parkes, Tipton, Mich., and Charles W. Parkes, California; one daughter, Dora J. Parkes, Columbia; one sister, Frances West, Elk Grove, Calif.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Carrie Grace Haney, one son, Raymond E. Parkes, and one granddaughter.

Graveside services will be at Keytesville City Cemetery, Keytesville. The Rev. Stan Henderson will officiate.

Memorials are suggested to Keytesville United Methodist Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California.

VON GRUENIGEN

Beatrice Anne Fechtel Von Gruenigen, 80,  Jefferson City, died Sept. 24, 2000, at her home.

She was born Oct. 25, 1919, in Freeburg, a daughter of Bernard J. and Bernadine Anne Vermoilen Fechtel. She was married in January 1942, in Old Monroe, to Lee Collins Harlan Jr., who died in July 1973. She was married Dec. 27, 1975, in Granite City, Ill., to Frederick Cecil Von Gruenigen, who died July 2, 1999.

A 1937 graduate of Freeburg High School, she graduated from the Sisters of Divine Providence School of Nursing at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Granite City, Ill., in 1940. She was employed for 17 years at St. Elizabeth Hospital, where she was head nurse in the surgical department and helped initiate the IV therapy program.

She then worked as a registered nurse at Providence Hospital, Washington , D.C., and Prince Georges Hospital, Cheverly, Md. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, the Ladies Sodality, St. Elizabeth Hospital Alumnae Association and the Republican Senatorial Committee.

Survivors include: one son, Lee C. Harlan III, Madison, Ill.; one daughter, Margaret "Maggie" Vaught, Glen Carbon, Ill.; two sisters, Florence Meyer and Irene Ring, both of  Jefferson City; three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter Catholic Church. The Rev. Dennis Meyer and the Rev. Joseph Corel will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.

ANDRIS

Services were Friday for Robert Joseph Andris, 81, and his wife, Henrietta C. Andris, 75, both of Holts Summit, who died Sept. 18, 2000, at their home.

He was born Sept. 19, 1918, in Middletown, Ohio, a son of Wenzel and Ida Lawson Andris. She was born April 12, 1925, in Pittsburgh, Pa., a daughter of William and Anastasia Banazak Makowski. He was first married to Dolores Baer, who preceded him in death.

He was a retired sales agent for Reliable Life and Accident Insurance in St. Louis. An Air Force veteran of World War II, he was a member of the VFW in Holts Summit.

She was a department manager at Jaccards in St. Louis.

He is survived by four sons, Brian L. Andris, Thomas W. Andris and Roger A. Andris, all of St. Louis, and Richard E. Andris,  Jefferson City; two daughters, Terry E. Fontana, St. Louis, and Julie M. Zurbriggen, Apache Junction, Ariz.; and one brother, Carl Andris, Valley Park.

She is survived by two sons, Larry Seiler, Defiance, and Dennis L. Seiler, Carson City, Nev.; two sisters, Gertrude Leonard and Dorothy Alko, both of Pittsburgh. In addition, both are survived by 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services for both were at Baue Funeral and Memorial Center Chapel, St. Charles. Burial for both was in  Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Missouri Council for the Blind.

BELLER

Cora L. Knoerr Beller, 82, St. Louis, died Sept. 24, 2000, at DePaul Hospital, St. Louis.

She was born April 5, 1918, in Linn, a daughter of Frank and Cora Colter Knoerr. She was married to James R. Beller, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include: one son, Frank D. Beller; three daughters, Virginia C. Bognar, LaVerne L. Moresi and Brenda Kay Loos; two brothers, John Knoerr and Wilbur Knoerr, both of Linn; four sisters, Helen Reed, Catherine Balkenbush and Marie Thompson, all of Linn, and Dorothy Nilges, Bourbon; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Buchholz Spanish Lake Mortuary, St. Louis, with a Mass at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Angela Merici Church, Florissant. Burial will be in National Cemetery,  Jefferson Barracks.

Memorials are suggested to the St. George Activity Center.

CAMPBELL

Roberta M. Campbell, 63, Rocky Mount, died Sept. 24, 2000, at Lake Regional Health Center.

She was born March 20, 1937, in Winegarden, a daughter of Roland and Helen Bayless. Her mother, Helen Younger, survives in St. Louis. She was married July 17, 1953, in St. Louis, to Paul Campbell, who survives at the home.

She was a baker for National Foods in St. Louis, a member of the women's auxiliary of American Legion Post 267 in St. Louis, and a life member of Alpha Phi Sorority.

Other survivors include: four sons, Rodney Campbell Sr., Hillsboro, Randy Campbell and Gerald Campbell, both of St. Louis, and Gary Campbell, Rocky Mount; two daughters, Regina Lynch, Lake Ozark, and Paulette Hensley, Hillsboro; one brother, Norman Eugene Kleinsorge, Ballwin; two sisters, Darlene Utenage, St. Louis, and Carol Brewer, Valley Park; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Services will be at 7:30 p.m. today at Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach. The Rev. Tracy Carroll will officiate. Cremation will follow the services.

Visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to the Dream Factory of Osage Beach.

PATTERSON

James F. "Jim" Patterson, 67, Westwego, La., died Sept. 23, 2000, at Veterans Administration Hospital, New Orleans.

He was born Jan. 23, 1933, in Dixon, a son of Harry P. and Goldie Cross Patterson. He was married Aug. 24, 1962, in New Orleans, to Betty Cantrelle, who survives at the home.

He was a 1950 graduate of Iberia High School and received a bachelor's degree in Christian ministry from Southwestern Assemblies Bible College, Waxahachie, Texas , and a master's degree in public health from Tulane University, New Orleans.

He was a Marine veteran of the Korean War and an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired as a lieutenant colonel. He served as vice administrator of Phelps County Regional Hospital, Rolla, and vice president of administration of Crossroads Christian Communications, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

He served as administrator and treasurer of Pat Robertson's Presidential Campaign. He served as church administrator and visitation pastor for Northwood Temple, Fayeteville, N.C.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Revonne Behrend, Brazoria, Texas , and Ann Mainse, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada; two sons, Frank Duracher, Florence, Ala., and Aaron Duracher, Carriere, Miss.; three brothers, Floyd Patterson, Lake Lotawana, Paul Patterson, Iberia, and Sam Patterson, Lee's Summit; one sister, Hazel Catron, Springfield; and 12 grandchildren.

One son, James Farris Patterson II, preceded him in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Iberia Assembly of God Church. The Rev. David Mainse and the Rev. Jeff Higbie will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Union Cemetery, near Iberia.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia.

SPRINGER

Zuma Mae Springer, 83, Tipton, died Sept. 24, 2000, at her home.

She was born Sept. 21, 1917, near Latham, a daughter of Wade H. and Elsie Bird Bond Newkirk. She was married Aug. 15, 1953, in Versailles, to Elmer Roy Springer, who died June 24, 1983.

She worked as a switchboard operator at Latham for several years. She did commercial cleaning for Kut & Kurl Beauty Shop in California, and at the Assembly of God Church in Tipton, which she attended.

She is survived by one sister, Una Florence Reade, Tipton.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Meisenheimer-Griswold Funeral Home, Tipton. The Rev. Don Schulte will officiate. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery, Tipton.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorials are suggested to the Assembly of God Church or to a charity of the donor's choice.

WOOLERY

Georgie Isabell Woolery, 83, Fortuna, died Sept. 24, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born April 18, 1917, in Florence, a daughter of Marvin L. and Dora Ann Stemberger Sanders. She was married Sept. 8, 1940, to Claud W. Woolery, who died Jan. 3, 1996.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include: three sons, Marvin Woolery, Phillip Woolery and Walter Woolery, all of Fortuna; four daughters, JoAnn Borts, Jean Jackson and Caroline Woolery, all of Fortuna, and Betty Wineland, California; one brother, Marvin Sanders, Fortuna; one sister, LeeAnna Homan, Syracuse; 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. Burial will be in Glensted Cemetery, near Versailles.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.

CHILDS

Beulah "Liz" Meller Childs, 66, Lee's Summit, formerly of  Jefferson City, died Sept. 25, 200, at Specialty Hospital of Mid America.

She was born May 2, 1934, in McGirk, a daughter of Augusta and Mary Stroebel. She was married to William Richard Meller, who died in 1986. She was married to Larry N. Childs, who survives at the home.

A private duty licensed practical nurse, she was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. She also had lived in Russellville.

Other survivors include: one son, Robert William Meller, Sugar Creek; two daughters, Brenda Rice, Independence, and Debbie Henny, Buckner; two brothers, William Stroebel, Lamonte, and Ernest Stroebel, Independence; one sister, Carolyn Tripp, Kansas City; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Messiah Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Mound Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday at Speaks Suburban Chapel, Independence.
