TRIPPENSEE

Walter A. Trippensee, 91,  Jefferson City, died Sept. 25, 2000, in Dallas, Texas .

Trippensee was born Nov. 21, 1908, in  Jefferson City, a son of Christ and Lena Loesch Trippensee. He was married Aug. 5, 1935, in  Jefferson City to Juanita Schneider, who died Sept. 14, 2000.

He was a graduate of  Jefferson City High School and a lifelong resident of the area. He worked for Exchange National Bank for 43 years, retiring in 1971, and was a member of Central United Church of Christ. He was a World War II Navy veteran.

Survivors include: one son, Gary Trippensee, Rosamond, Calif.; one daughter, Trudy Steen, Dallas, Texas ; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Freeman Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. Stephen Buchholz will officiate. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Wednesday.

Memorials are suggested to The Central United Church of Christ, 118 W. Ashley St.,  Jefferson City, Mo. 65109.

WILSON

Warren Bennie Wilson, 75, Tuscumbia, died Sept. 29, 2000, at Osage Beach Health Care Center.

Wilson was born Dec. 13, 1924, in Tuscumbia, a son of James B. and Lectia Evelyn (Atkinson) Wilson. He was married October 11, 1947, in Tuscumbia, to Myrtle Virginia Stark, who survives of the home.

An Army veteran of World War II, he farmed and was a member of Ulman Christian Church.

Survivors include: one daughter, Sharron Pitts, St. James; one son, Steven Wilson, Tuscumbia; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia. The Rev. Gene Edwards will officiate. Burial will be in Hickory Point Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. today.

WOOD

Tammy Sue Wood, 33, Eldon, died Sept. 24, 2000, at her home.

She was born Jan. 13, 1967, in  Jefferson City, a daughter to Gaithel and Ida Mae (Witt) Wood.

Wood is survived by aunts, uncles and cousins.

The remains were cremated under the direction of Rekus Funeral Home, Eldon. Graveside services will be at a later date.

MUELLER

Clarence A. Mueller, 93,  Jefferson City, died Sept. 29, 2000, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility.

Mueller was born Oct. 6, 1906, in  Jefferson City, a son of Henry J. and Catherine Dulle Mueller. He was married in 1931 in  Jefferson City to Sophia Bax, who died in 1941. He was married in 1960 in Tuscumbia to Alberta Green Taylor, who died in 1967. He was married in 1968 in  Jefferson City to Helen Green Williams, who died in 1997.

He had attended the St. Peters Catholic Schools and served with the Missouri National Guard.

He was a member of the St. Peters Catholic Church, the American Association of Retired Persons and the Classic Club. He was a life member and officer for more than 40 years of the Musicians Local 217, and a Golden Age Member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 2693.

For 26 years he worked for Cole County Farmers Co-op Company as assistant and then manager. He then owned and operated the Centertown Grain Elevator. He also worked at Hackmann Sound Service 21 years and 17 years as a rural mail carrier.

He also worked as a dance drummer for 36 years in Central Missouri. He managed a baseball team in Wardsville and the Eagles Baseball Boys Team.

Survivors include: one son, Thomas J. Mueller,  Jefferson City; one stepson, Don Taylor, Maryland; one stepdaughter, Yvonne Dallmeyer,  Jefferson City; one sister, Henrietta Sturm,  Jefferson City; two grandchildren, five step grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peters Catholic Church. The Rev. Donald Lammers will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

Prayer services will be at 7:30 Monday at Buescher Memorial Home.

Memorials are suggested to the St. Peters Building Fund.

McABOY

Carl Edward McAboy, 49,  Jefferson City, died Sept. 27, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.

McAboy was born Oct. 1, 1950, in Mobile, Ala., a son of the Rev. Thomas and Emma R. McAboy. His mother survives in Prichard, Ala. He was married Feb. 14, 1973, in Columbia to Maurine A. Harper, who survives in the home.

He was a 1968 graduate of Blount High School in Prichard, and attended Lincoln University.

An annuity and retirement sales representative for Holden Financial Investment Company of Overland Park, Kans., he also worked for the Department of Corrections in  Jefferson City.

He was a deacon of the Second Baptist Church, a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, the Prince Hall Masons and the Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice.

Survivors include: one son, Clayton E. McAboy, and one daughter, Morgan A. McAboy, both of  Jefferson City; two brothers, Thomas McAboy, Prichard, and Reginald Wilson, Mobile; two sisters, the Rev. Linda Arthur, Monessa, Pa., and the Rev. Johnetta Wilson, Whistler, Ala.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Second Baptist Church. The Rev. Cornell C. Sudduth Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Longview Cemetery.

Visitation will be 9-10:30 a.m. Monday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.

Arrangements are under the direction of Houser-Millard Funeral Directors.

HUNTER

Stuart Mahaffey Hunter Sr., 93, Holts Summit, died Sept. 29, 2000, at Capital Health Care Center.

Hunter was born July 12, 1907, in Chillicothe, a son of Robert and Clyta Belle Mahaffey Hunter. He was married July 31, 1934, in Waterloo, Ill., to Dolly D. McCartney, who died Nov. 7, 1993.

A graduate of Fayette High School, he and attended Washington University, St. Louis. A lifelong resident of Central Missouri, he was a registered civil engineer employed by the Missouri High Department for several years before being name president of the Hunter Brothers Construction Company, retiring in 1968.

Hunter was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Fayette Masonic Lodge, Fayette, The York Rite, Capital Shrine Club the Moolah Temple, St. Louis, and a past president of the  Jefferson City Jays Football Booster Club.

Survivors include: one son, Stuart McCartney Hunter, Holts Summit; one brother, David K. Hunter, Holts Summit; one sister, Hazel Uhlig, Columbia; and one grandson.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Freeman Mortuary. Graveside services and Masonic services will be at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday.

Memorials are suggested to the Shriner's Crippled Children's Hospital, St. Louis.

HUDDLESTON

Leonard Chandis Huddleston, 84, Eldon, died Sept. 30, 2000, at Lake Regional Health Center.

Huddleston was born March 6, 1916, in  Jefferson City, a son of Elbert and Stella Stubblefield Huddleston.

He was a member of new Hope Freewill Baptist Church in Kaiser. He worked at the Boy Scout Camp in Osage Beach and was a lifetime resident of Eldon. For many years, he did mowing and lawn care.

He is survived by cousins.

The remains will be cremated under the direction of Rekus Funeral Home in Eldon. Burial will be in new Hope Cemetery near Kaiser.

HANSON

Georgia Lee Hanson, 78,  Jefferson City, died Sept. 25, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born Sept. 3, 1922, in Uhlman, a daughter of Walter and Lectie Mae Fike Carey. She was married March 7, 1943, in St. Louis to Everett Hanson, who died Jan. 24, 1994.

A resident of the  Jefferson City area for the past two years, she worked in the sales department of Dayton Corporation in Minnesota.

Survivors include: one son, Rodney Hanson, Minnesota; one daughter, Cassandra Hanson, Minnesota; one sister, Irene Johnson,  Jefferson City; two brothers, Gene Carey, Mattoon, Ill., and Kenneth Carey, Kansas City; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be in Minneapolis, Minn., at a later time.

Local arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

HANKS

Stephen "Steve" Hanks, 58, Camdenton, died Sept. 30, 2000, at his home.

He was born March 24, 1942, in Neosho, a son of Floy "Bud" and Marjorie M. Claiborn Hanks. He was married Jan. 26, 1964, to Nancy Ireland, who survives of the home.

He graduated from Camdenton High School in 1960 and from the University of Missouri in 1965. He was a vice president at the First National Bank in Camdenton for 26 years.

He was a member of the Community Christian Church of Camdenton, the Delta Upsilon Fraternal Organization, the Camdenton Kiwanis Club, and the Lake Valley Country Club in Camdenton. He was a quarterback for the first Camdenton Laker football team, treasurer for the Camdenton Alumni Association and for State Rep. Chuck Pryor and State Rep. Flavel Butts.

Survivors include: one son, Todd Hanks, Camdenton; one daughter, Christy Hanks, Columbia; and one sister Teresa Smith, Camdenton.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Community Christian Church. The Rev. Tracy Carroll will officiate. Burial will be in Laughlin Cemetery, Camdenton.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. Monday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to the Lake Valley Country Club Golf Scholarship fund at First National Bank, Camdenton.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Hedges Funeral Home.
