McFARLAND
Eric Stephan McFarland, 24, Lohman, died Oct. 3, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born Feb. 25, 1976, in Jefferson City, a son of Robin and Judy Mengwasser McFarland. His parents survive at the home.
A graduate of Jefferson City High School, he was employed as a mover for Heilig-Meyers Furniture Co. He also worked for Tech Packaging.
He attended St. Peter's Catholic Church.
Other survivors include: one sister, Janis Surface, Holts Summit; one brother, Casey McFarland, Lohman; paternal grandparents, Charles and Hazel McFarland, Columbia; and maternal grandparents, Ignatius and Angela Mengwasser, Lohman.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Peter's Catholic Church. The Rev. Donald W. Lammers will officiate. Burial will be on the family farm.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

RICE
Lena L. Rice, 102, Sunrise Beach, died Oct. 2, 2000, at Laurie Care Center.
She was born July 3, 1898, in Fort Meade, S.D., a daughter of Peter P. and Mary Ann Krumfuss Szymanski. She was married to Otto W. Carlson, who died in 1943. She was married to Clovis L. Rice, who died in 1975.
During the 1930s, she worked as a seamstress at Nelly Don's. She was a charter member of Kent Memorial Lutheran Church, Sunrise Beach.
She had lived in Kansas City and was a Sunrise Beach resident since 1955.
Survivors include: one daughter, Ethelyn A. Baker, Mountainside, N.J.; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
One son, Jarvis E. Carlson, died in 1982.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Kent Memorial Lutheran Church. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Mount Moriah Cemetery, Kansas City.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton.
Memorials are suggested to Kent Memorial Lutheran Church.
SCHRADER
Edna "Rose" Schrader, 81, California, died Oct. 3, 2000, at California Care Center.
She was born April 21, 1919, in Springfield, a daughter of Christian A. and Edna Rose Worley Young. She was married April 21, 1941, to Raymond "Lefty" Miller, who died Jan. 1, 1968. She was married Feb. 20, 1976, in Miami, Okla., to Ray Schrader, who survives at the home.
She co-owned and operated Miller's Cafe in Otterville. She worked at Biltwell Pants factory as a seamstress/inspector until retiring in 1984. She then worked as a hostess at Hardees in California.
She was a member of California United Church of Christ.
Other survivors include: one stepson, Leslie Schrader, Colcord, Okla.; three stepdaughters, Lois Hutchison, Pelham, Ala., LaVonne Merriott, California, and Linda Parker, Clarksburg; one brother, Harry B. Young Sr., Green Ridge; one stepsister, Anna Eckerle, Pilot Grove; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Two stepsons, Lloyd Schrader and Larry Schrader, one stepdaughter, Lucille Diggs-Ensor, and one step granddaughter preceded her in death.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California. The Rev. Gary Schulte will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens, Sedalia.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday.

YOUELL
Mildred Lee Youell, 89, Russellville, died Oct. 2, 2000, at California Care Center.
She was born Jan. 14, 1911, in Marion County, a daughter of Kaiser L. and Aldora Allen Woolfe. She was married Dec. 24, 1932, in Palmyra, to William Clay "Bill" Youell, who died May 14, 2000.
She attended Center School and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, near Philadelphia, Mo. She farmed in Marion County before retiring and moving to Russellville in 1972.
She is survived by one daughter, Cheryl Pratt, Holts Summit, and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethany Baptist Church. The Rev. Kenneth Moore will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the Bethany Cemetery Association.
Arrangements are under the direction of Garner Funeral Home, Monroe City.
LEHMAN
Ruby M. Lehman, 77, California, died Oct. 4, 2000, at Moniteau Care Center, California.
She was born June 10, 1923, in Batesville, Ark., a daughter of Ira S. and Bertha Jacobs Henley. She was married Sept. 9, 1946, in Wichita, Kan., to John S. Lehman, who survives at the home.
She was a nurse receptionist for Dr. Richard Fulks for 28 years before retiring in 1981. She was a member of First Baptist Church, California, and a 1940 graduate of Eugene High School.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Judy Bolinger, California; four brothers, John D. Henley, Springfield, Roscoe Henley, California, Ira "Bud" Henley Jr., Willard, and B.B. Henley, Higginsville; three sisters, Marguerite Hutchison, Colorado Springs, Colo., Bonnie Strickfaden, Hazelwood, and Betty Dummermuth, Russellville; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Two grandchildren preceded her in death.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Greg Morrow and the Rev. Walter Lockhart will officiate. Burial will be in California City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California.
Memorials are suggested to Parkinson's Disease Research Center or the California Nutrition Center.
THARP
David Harris Tharp, 73, Eldon, died Oct. 4, 2000, in Versailles.
He was born Jan. 21, 1927, in Illmo, a son of Joseph W. and Bessie Mabel Goddard Tharp. His stepmother, Helen Tharp, survives in Harrisonville. He was married Oct. 18, 1969, in St. Louis, to Doreen Finan, who survives at the home.
He attended Southeast Missouri State University, Cape Girardeau, and the University of Missouri, Rolla, graduating with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. He was employed as an advanced design engineer with McDonnell Douglas, St. Louis, for 31 years until his retirement in 1982.
He moved to Rocky Mount in 1982. A resident of Eldon since 1996, he was a member of Lake Ozark Rotary Club, EAA Steam Auto Club of America and the Astronomy Club of Boeing.
Other survivors include: four brothers, Joseph Tharp Jr. and Charles Tharp, both of Florissant, Kenneth Tharp, Kansas City, and Paul Tharp, Manchester; and one sister, Georgia Wynne, Blanchardsville, Wis.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Stephen Riordan will officiate.
Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. Saturday.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
OUSLEY
Services were Tuesday for Juanita Mae Baker Ousley, 74, St. Louis, formerly of Jefferson City, who died Oct. 2, 2000, at Marymount Manor Nursing Home, Eureka.
She was born Feb. 21, 1926, in Jefferson City, a daughter of Frank and Bertha Baker. She was married in August 1946, in Jefferson City, to Vernon "Buck" Ousley, who died in January 1995.
She attended Jefferson City public schools and was a homemaker. She attended the Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include: one son, James D. Wiggins, Jefferson City; two daughters, Devonia Fischer, St. Louis, and Juanita Timms, Imperial; two brothers, the Rev. Allison Baker, California, and Clifton Baker, Kansas City; one stepbrother, Tommy Iliff, Lake of the Ozarks; six grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Services were held at Hoffmeister South County Funeral Home, St. Louis. The Rev. Allison Baker officiated. Burial was in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis.
MAY
Matthew Allen May, infant son of Dr. Joseph A. and Maryna V. Toloshnaya May, Jefferson City, was stillborn Oct. 1, 2000, at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia.
His parents survive at the home.
He also is survived by his maternal grandparents, Vacille and Lydia Toloshnaya, of the Ukraine.
Private graveside services will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery, Columbia.
Arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home, Columbia.
MEDLEN
Clyde Medlen, 85, High Point, died Oct. 3, 2000, at California Care Center, California.

Angeline B. Wolfrum, 90, Jefferson City, died Oct. 2, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.
