NIEGHORN
Lydia E. Nieghorn, 83, Jefferson City, died Oct. 24, 2000, at Capital City Health Care Center.
She was born Nov. 9, 1916, in Jefferson City, a daughter of Otto W. and Elenor Korsmeyer Nieghorn.
A homemaker, she was a lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. Warren Brandt will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will 9-10 a.m. Friday.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
REID
Jack W. Reid, 77, Holts Summit, died Oct. 22, 2000, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach.
He was born Jan. 29, 1923, in Kansas City. He was married in 1975 in Holts Summit to Shirley Buffington, who survives.
A lifelong resident of Central Missouri, he graduated from Fulton High School and worked at the Westinghouse plant for many years.
He also is survived by one stepdaughter, Connie Buffington Choate, Fulton.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. Randy Dignan will officiate. Burial will be in California City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10-10:30 a.m. Thursday.

WILLIAMS
Ola Merle Williams, 74, New Bloomfield, died Oct. 24, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born April 10, 1926, in Fulton, a daughter of James L. and Maudie Alice Means Branch. She was married July 23, 1946, in Fulton, to Norris Williams, who died in 1991.
A graduate of Fulton High School, she was a secretary at Jefferson City Manfacturing for 33 years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church in New Bloomfield.
Survivors include: two daughters, Deborah Vaughan, Holts Summit, and Renee O'Neil, Kansas City; two sons, James F. Williams, Blue Springs, and David L. Williams, Jefferson City; two sisters, Alma Murphy, Fulton, and Nancy Wyrick, Jefferson City; and 10 grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hopewell Baptist Church. The Rev. Rick Hopkins will officiate. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens, Fulton.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Debo Funeral Home, Holts Summit.
Memorials are suggested to the Hopewell Baptist Church Building Fund.
BARNUM
Marguerite B. Barnum, 80, Warsaw, died Oct. 25, 2000, at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City.
She was born May 2, 1920, in Linn Creek, a daughter of Ira and Jody Hibdon Crabtree. She was married Aug. 14, 1982, to Walter J. Barnum, who survives at the home.
She worked for Lee Walls Garment in Kansas City, and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Warsaw.
Other survivors include: one son, Donald G. DeGraffenreid, Higginsville; four stepsons; one stepdaughter; one brother, Cleo Crabtree, Sunrise Beach; two sisters, Maxine Bartley, Sunrise Beach, and Eva Uptergrove, Westaco, Texas ; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
One son, Larry D. Degraffenreid, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. Burial will be in Versailles Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Friday.
JARVIS
Cecelia Lee Jarvis, 36, New Bloomfield, died Oct. 24, 2000, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born Oct. 22, 1964, in Minnesota, a daughter of Leroy and Imia Forrest. She was married June 25, 1994, in Kingman, Ariz., to Johnathan Michael Jarvis, who survives at the home.
A manager of the McDonald's in Holts Summit, she was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Amanda Balkin, of the home; one son, Dale Folkner, of the home; three sisters; and one brother.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Debo Funeral Home, Holts Summit. Burial will be in Summit Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Friday.

NICHOLS
Eula Lee Nichols, 79, Iberia, died Oct. 25, 2000, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach.
She was born Sept. 27, 1921, near Dixon, a daughter of John and Lottie Switzer Spencer. She was married Sept. 27, 1941, in Vienna, to Ernest Nichols, who died Feb. 6, 1961.
She was a member of Honey Springs Baptist Church, near Brumley, where she taught Sunday school.
She was a former resident of Dixon.
Survivors include: two sons, Dennis Nichols, Iberia, and Dean Nichols, Pace, Fla.; two sisters, Charlotte Zaborac, Canton, Ill., and Berniece Connor, Naperville, Ill.; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia. The Rev. Charles Caldwell will officiate. Burial will be in Seaton Cemetery, near Dixon.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday.
RHODES
Services were today for Laura Mae DeLong Rhodes, 78, Versailles, who died Oct. 24, 2000, at Good Shepherd Care Center, Versailles.
She was born May 31, 1922, in Morgan County, a daughter of William O. and Effie O. Kidwell DeLong. She was married to Al Gerber, who preceded her in death. She was married to Howard Rhodes, who preceded her in death.
She was a retired account clerk for the University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics and was a member of United Methodist Church in Columbia.
Survivors include one niece, Rita Bennett, Columbia.
Services were at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. The Rev. Todd Forman officiated. Burial was in Versailles Cemetery.
SHELTON
William Kenneth Shelton, 80, Brumley, died Oct. 26, 2000, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach.
He was born Oct. 3, 1920, near Brumley, a son of Alonzo and Verdie Witt Shelton. He was married June 15, 1950, in Tuscumbia, to Geraldine Long, who survives at the home.
An Army veteran of World War II, he was a lifelong resident of Brumley. He worked for Osage Asphalt, and retired from Lake Asphalt, Linn Creek.
He was a member of Mount Union Church of Christ, Brumley.
Other survivors include: two sons, Roy Shelton, Iberia, and Ray Shelton, Brumley; one sister, Glennis Phillips, Brumley; and three grandchildren.
One grandson preceded him in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia. Burial, with military honors, will be in Mount Union Cemetery, near Brumley.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Saturday.
DIXON
Kenneth R. Dixon, 80, Eldon, who died Oct. 24, 2000, is survived by seven brothers and four sisters.
BELL
Kerry W. Bell, 39, Jefferson City, died Oct. 27, 2000, at his home.
He was born Dec. 27, 1960, in Sedalia, a son of Carroll E. and Mildred Smallwood Bell, who survive in Sedalia.
He graduated from Smith-Cotton High School in 1979. He was an Eagle Scout and later a Cub Scout leader. He worked as a carpet layer for Bell Duraclean Carpet Services, moving to Jefferson City four years ago.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Whitney Christine Bell and Ashley Marie Bell, both of Windsor; two brothers, Mike Bell, Sedalia, and Ronnie Bell, Ramona, Calif.; two sisters, Winona Pointer, Kansas City, and Sherri Naylor, Sedalia.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw. The Rev. Greg Hibbard will officiate. Burial will be in Hastain Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday.
Memorials are suggested to Troop 61 of the Boy Scouts of America, Sedalia.
