JEWELL

Kevin L. Jewell, 43, Olean, died Nov. 16, 2000, at his home.

He was born Oct. 20, 1957, in River Falls, Wis., a son of Earl W. and Betty M. Adams Jewell. His father survives in Olean.

He was a 1976 graduate of River Falls High School and a 1981 graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia. He moved to Olean from River Falls in 1976 and worked as a CPA with the state of Missouri for 11 years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Russellville. He was also a member of the Muscular Dystrophy Association, treasurer of the Independent Living Resources Center in  Jefferson City, a member of the University of Missouri Alumni Association, and a member of the Missouri Certified Public Accountants.

Other survivors include: one brother, James E. Jewell, Cape Fair, and one sister, Marla Klynott,  Jefferson City.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Nancy Oliver will officiate. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Saturday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Russellville.

Memorials are suggested to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or Trinity Lutheran Church.

KLOSTERHOFF

Ada Klosterhoff, 89, Westphalia, died Nov. 17, 2000, at her home.

She was born Aug. 12, 1911, in Maries County, a daughter of Hiram and Mary Hutchison Breeding. She was married Sept. 21, 1940, in St. Louis, to John Klosterhoff, who died Aug. 30, 1993.

She was employed as a clerk at Walgreen Drug Store, St. Louis, until her retirement in 1979. She was a member of Rader United Methodist Church, near Vienna, and a volunteer at area hospitals.

She is survived by one brother, William Breeding, Vienna.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Rader United Methodist Church. The Rev. Karen Alden will officiate. Burial will be in Breeding Cemetery, near Freeburg.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, and from 10 a.m.-noon Sunday at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna. Visitation also will be from 1-2 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to Rader United Methodist Church.

MARRIOTT

Sylvester L. "Buck" Marriott, 59, Stover, died Nov. 15, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.

He was born Feb. 7, 1941, in Stover, a son of Ray and Pauline Waisner Marriott. He was married July 19, 1959, to Willa J. Heppard.

He was a retired maintenance superintendent for the Tipton, Stover, Versailles and California Missouri Department of Transportation District 5 maintenance buildings. At MoDOT he was employed as a crew worker, senior crew worker and local supervisor.

He was a past member and president of the Stover Lions Club. He served on the Golden Age Living Center Board and was a former member of the Stover Saddle Club.

He was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church, south of Stover, and attended Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, near Stover.

Survivors include: two daughters, Gaylene Bauer and Pam Witte, both of Stover; two sons, George Carson and James Carson, both of Stover; two brothers, Donald Marriott, Stover, and Rex Marriott, Versailles; and four grandchildren.

One son, Gene Lee Marriott, died May 23, 1993.

Services will be at 10: 30 a.m. Saturday at Stover First Baptist Church. James Henderson and the Rev. Gene Burnett will officiate. Burial will be in Stover Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Stover.

Memorials are suggested to the Stover First Baptist Church, the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church or the Kidney Foundation.

NAYLOR

Cordie Samuel Naylor, 88, Fayette, died Nov. 16, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.

He was born Aug. 29, 1912, in Fayette, a son of William and Fannie Hitt Naylor. He was married Feb. 7, 1946, to Oleeta Miller, who died June 27, 1998.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the V.F.W. He owned and operated Naylor Trucking.

Survivors include: one son, Floyd Naylor, Tempe, Ariz.; one daughter, Donna Westhues,  Jefferson City; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home, Fayette. The Rev. Harold Young will officiate. Burial will be in Walnut Ridge Cemetery, Fayette.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday.

Memorials are suggested to Mount Gilead Cemetery, Fayette.

PARK

Betty Jean Park, 70, Rocky Mount, died Nov. 15, 2000, in Rocky Mount.

She was born Nov. 30, 1929, in Toledo, Ohio, a daughter of Orville E. and Vivian Pharis DeBoe Campbell. She was married Sept. 9, 1950, in Langley Field, Va., to Jack Park, who survives at the home.

She was a telephone operator and supervisor for 32 years.

Other survivors include: one son, Ricky Alan Park, Rowlett, Texas ; one brother, Clarence Campbell, Lee's Summit; one sister, Helen Hamilton, Rocky Mount; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lake Ozark Christian Church. The Rev. Kerry J. Presnell will officiate. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Missouri Veteran's Cemetery, Springfield.

Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. today and from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon.

Memorials are suggested to Lake Ozark Christian Church.

PORTER

James David Porter, 11, Oakdale, Ill., died Nov. 15, 2000, at Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital, St. Louis.

He was born Nov. 27, 1988, in St. Louis, a son of Marshall R. and Carla Kay Petry Porter, who survive at the home.

He was an honor roll student at Pinckneyville Junior High and was honored as September Student of the Month.

Other survivors include: one brother, Michael Ray Porter, of the home; maternal grandparents, Carl and Mary Petry, both of  Jefferson City; and paternal grandparents, Lester and Doris Porter, both of Nashville, Ill.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Nashville. The Rev. Dale Bartels will officiate. Burial will be in Pilot Knob Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Saturday at Styninger-Krupp Funeral Home, Nashville, and from 7:30-10:30 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Visitation will also be from 1-2 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or the Make A Wish Foundation.

RIDENHOUR

Leslie N. Ridenhour, 90, Belle, died Nov. 15, 2000, at Phelps County Regional Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 6, 1910, in Summerfield, a son of P.C. and Nora Bellas Ridenhour. He was married Feb. 21, 1930, to Tillie Woemmel, who preceded him in death.

A farmer, he also worked as a carpenter, rural mail carrier, and for the A.S.C.S. in Osage County. He was a member of Pilot Knob Baptist Church, where he was a deacon. He served on the school boards at Belle and Buck Elk.

Survivors include: one son, John Ridenhour, Belle; two daughters, Janiece Ridenhour and Joyce Medlock, both of Belle; one brother, Hadley Ridenhour, Belle; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

One daughter, Janet Towell, preceded him in death.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Pilot Knob Baptist Church. Burial will be in Pilot Knob Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Sassman's Funeral Service, Belle.

SMITH

Glenn David Smith, 54, Centertown, died Nov. 15, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.

He was born Nov. 12, 1946, in Henley, a son of Henry and Julia Porter Smith. He was married Dec. 11, 1970, in Holts Summit, to Judy Haywood, who died Feb. 16, 1996.

He attended school in Eugene and was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked 12 years at Von Hoffmann Press prior to joining the maintenance staff at the Missouri Supreme Court building. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Jamestown.

Survivors include: two sons, Geoffrey Smith and Robert Smith, both of Centertown; three brothers, John Smith, Holts Summit, Harold Smith, Wichita, Kan., and Wayne Smith, Russellville; three sisters, Betty Hodge, Olean, Laura Smith, Russellville, and Dorothy Robb, Doniphan, Neb.; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Weber and Sons Funeral Home, Russellville. The Rev. Mark Searcy will officiate. Burial with full military honors will be in Enloe Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Saturday.

SOUDER

Alverta Rowe Souder, 97,  Jefferson City, died Nov. 16, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born April 5, 1903, in Cooper County, a daughter of William M. and Christine Toellner Rowe. She was married Aug. 7, 1929, in Boonville, to Dr. Paul D. Souder, who died in May 1960.

She was a graduate of Laura Speed Ellis High School, Boonville, and Central Missouri State University, Warrensburg. She taught school in Chamois and Cicero, Ill. After moving to  Jefferson City, she was employed at Rackers & Baclesse Decorating Co., and worked as a teachers' aide for the public schools.

She was a member of the Auxiliary of the 40 and 8, and Central United Church of Christ, where she taught an adult Sunday School class. She was a 54-year member of American Legion Auxiliary, Post 506, serving as department president from 1956 to 1957.

Survivors include: one son, Paul Rowe Souder, Tijeras, N.M.; one daughter, Ann Peters Schreen, New Bloomfield; one brother, Kenneth Rowe, Riverside, Calif.; one sister, Vera Grathwohl, Boonville; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Central United Church of Christ. The Rev. Stephen Buchholz will officiate. Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday in  Jefferson City National Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to Central United Church of Christ or the Missouri River Regional Library.

Arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
