TROESSER
Loretta M. Troesser, 66, Morton, Ill., died Nov. 25, 2000, at her home.
She was born March 5, 1934, in Linn, a daughter of Louis B. and Anna Riegel Kliethermes. She was married Sept. 11, 1954, in Linn, to Clarence P. Troesser, who died May 5, 1988.
She worked 12 years for Canteen Food Services at the Caterpillar Parts Distribution Center in Morton, until she retired in 1981. She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Morton.
Survivors include: two sons, Donald Troesser, Morton, and Charles Troesser, Lake of the Ozarks; one daughter, Anna Bohnker, Morton; one brother, Norman Kliethermes, St. Charles; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. George Catholic Church, Linn. The Rev. Paul Hartley will officiate. Burial will be in St. George Cemetery, Linn.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today with a prayer service at 8:15 p.m. at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home, Morton, and from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Morton Funeral Home, Linn.
Memorials are suggested to the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church; 261 E. Greenwood St., Morton, Ill. 61550.
SCHMIDT
John Leonard Schmidt, 79, Climax Springs, died Nov. 26, 2000, at his home.
He was born Aug. 5, 1921, a son of Harry J. and Mary Margaret Sester Schmidt. He was married May 23, 1970, to Mary Cundiff, who survives at the home.
He was a graduate of McBride High School. A Navy veteran, he was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Camdenton. He worked for the Ehrhardt Tool and Die Company, St. Louis, before retiring in 1985. He moved to Lake of the Ozarks in 1993.
Other survivors include: three sons, Timothy Schmidt, Des Moines, Iowa, Ron L. Hurley, Oceanside, Calif., and Stanley L. Hurley, Edinboro, Pa.; three daughters, Carolyn Maupin, Truxton, Christine Mayfield, St. Charles, and Ruth Schottel, Affton; one brother, Edward Schmidt, St. Louis; one sister, Dorothy Brazill, Columbus, Ohio; 23 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
One daughter, Patricia Williams, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton. The Rev. James Fuemmeler will officiate.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday.
RUBLE
Margaret I. Ruble, 97, Osage Beach, died Nov. 26, 2000, at Ozark Care Center, Osage Beach.
She was born June 28, 1903, in Bond County, Illinois. She was married to Jess J. Ruble, who preceded her in death.
A homemaker, she was a Lutheran.
She is survived by two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.
One daughter, Marjorie Lammlein, died Jan. 31, 1950, and one son, Bronson Parker, died June 16, 1994.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Dale Blair Cemetery, Camdenton. Pastor John Davis will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton.
FRITZ
Services were today for Marion Alvin Fritz, 84, Fulton, who died Nov. 27, 2000, at Fulton Nursing and Rehabilitation.
He was born March 29, 1916, in Warrenton, a son of Joseph and America May Thurman Fritz. He was married June 23, 1939, in Warrenton, to Bernice Rieger, who survives at the home.
He owned Fritz Welding until his retirement in 1981.
Other survivors include: two sons, Alvin Fritz and Ronnie Fritz, both of Fulton; two brothers, Chester Fritz, Richmond, Va., and Joe Fritz, Fulton; two sisters, Rose Knobloch, Fulton, and Frances Cullon, Hermann; four grandsons; four step grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Private family services were in Callaway Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Fulton. The Rev. Stephen Sowder officiated.
Arrangements were under the direction of Debo Funeral Home, Fulton.
ROBERDS
May Veasman Roberds, 94, Vienna, died Nov. 26, 2000, at St. Marys Health Care Center.
She was born June 1, 1906, in Maries County, a daughter of Edward and Agness Branson Veasman. She was married March 30, 1929, in Jefferson City, to John Osborn Roberds, who died Sept. 26, 1986.
Survivors include one brother, William Veasman, San Antonio.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Kordes Funeral Home, Vienna. Burial will be in Stokes Cemetery, Miller County.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. today.
MORITS
Raymond A. Morits Sr., 59, Pullman, Wash., formerly of Linn, died Oct. 23, 2000, in Pullman.
He was born April 5, 1941, in Burlington, Vt., a son of William and Elizabeth Houge Morits.
Survivors include: one son, Raymond A. Morits Jr., Pullman; one daughter, Renee Morits, Tipton; and two sisters, Anita Vincellette, Swanton, Vt., and Gloria Morits, Charlotte, Vt..
No services are planned.

MELCHER
Cletus E. Melcher, 76, Jefferson City, died Nov. 26, 2000, in Apache Junction, Ariz.
He was born Jan. 6, 1924, in Jefferson City, a son of Albert and Delsie Hartley Melcher. He was married Jan. 21, 1942, in Jefferson City, to Della Schanuth, who died June 29, 1993.
He attended Centertown High School and managed Tennyson Furniture appliance department for three years. He owned and operated Club 50, St. Martins, for 18 years and he worked for Gerbes East Supermarket as the liquor department manager for 20 years until his retirment in 1986.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He helped organize the Centertown Rural Fire Department and served on the planning committee for St. Martins Moreau Retirement Center. He was a member of the VFW Post 1003, Jefferson City, and St. Martins Catholic Church.
Survivors include: two daughters, Sandra Siebeneck, Jefferson City, and Debbie Libbert, Brazito; two sons, Albert Lee Melcher, Jefferson City, and Robert Dale Melcher, North Kansas City; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Martins Catholic Church. The Rev. Ed Schmidt will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or St. Martins Catholic Church.
LONG
Harold Lloyd Long, 78, Jefferson City, died Nov. 12, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 10, 1922, in Covington, Ky., a son of Larry and Bessie Marksberry Long.
He was a graduate of Dixie Heights High School, Edgewood, Ky. An Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, he was a self-employed statistician. He did research on health, physical education and medical issues after retirement.
Survivors include one brother, Robert Long, Altamonte Springs, Fla., and one sister, Barbara Jean Long Bauer, Sequim, Wash.
Private services with military honors will be held at a later date.
Memorials are suggested to the Salvation Army or to the Harold Long Fund for Books on Evolutionary Biology Research in care of the Missouri River Regional Library, P.O. Box 89, Jefferson City, Mo. 65102.
Arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home, Columbia.
BOWDEN
Beverly Jane Laas Bowden, 42, Ozark, died Nov. 24, 2000, at St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield.
She was born June 12, 1958, in Waynesville, a daughter of James and Vera Gerhart Laas. Her father and stepmother, James and Colleen Laas, survive in Ozark. Her mother and stepfather, Vera and Don Bowline, survive in Edwards.
A graduate of Stover High School, she attended Troy State in Montgomery, Ala. She served in the Army and National Guard as a nurse for 18 years, achieving the rank of first lieutenant. She was a chaplain's assistant while in the service and attended the Baptist church in Ozark.
She was a registered nurse and had worked at St. John's Regional Health Center. She currently owned and operated Customized Occupational Health Care Services with 3M Corporation, Springfield.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Mollie Jane Bowden, Ozark; one stepdaughter, Brittney Bowden, Bolivar; three brothers, Andy Laas, Stover, Nelson Eighmy, Springfield, and Patrick Laas, Ozark; seven sisters, Darlene Braden, Warsaw, Sandy Welpman, Stover, Pam Lester, Horseshoe Bend, Ark., Tia White , St. Charles, and Shannon Laas, Kelly Laas and Genevieve Laas, all of Ozark.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Stover United Methodist Church. Army Chaplain (ret.) Col. Lew Burnett and the Rev. Diane Cutler will officiate. Burial, with military honors, will be in Stover Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
