ONGER

Larry Wayne Onger, 50,  Jefferson City, died Dec. 10, 2000, at his home.

He was born Feb. 14, 1950, in  Jefferson City, a son of Alvin "Roy" and Beulah Walker Onger. His parents survive in  Jefferson City.

He attended  Jefferson City High School. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War and received the Purple Heart.

He was a printer and worked at several area printing companies.

Other survivors include: one son, Benjamin Onger; one daughter, Dana Onger; and two sisters, Linda Branch, Russellville, and Joyce Jean Pardoe, Latham.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Burial, with military honors, will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorials are suggested to the Disabled American Veterans.

STROPE

Thomas J. Strope, 82, Meta, died Dec. 10, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.

He was born April 15, 1918, in St. Thomas, a son of Christopher and Anna Ortbals Strope. He was married June 17, 1944, in Folk, to Flora Cassmeyer, who survives at the home.

An Army veteran of World War II, he received a Bronze Star. He worked as an electrician for 28 years with McDonnell-Douglas in St. Louis.

He was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Meta, where he was a communion minister. He was a senior member of the St. Thomas Knights of Columbus Council 2149 and a member of Argyle VFW Post 8047.

Other survivors include: one son, Thomas W. Strope, Overland; one daughter, Mary Kay Strope, Kirkwood; two sisters, Agatha Luebbering and Christine Luebbering, both of  Jefferson City; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Cecilia Catholic Church. The Rev. John Schutty will officiate. Burial, with military honors, will be in St. Cecilia Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Rekus Funeral Home, Meta, with a wake service at 7 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.

WIEBERG

Kenneth Alfred Wieberg, 51, Argyle, died Dec. 9, 2000, at his home.

He was born Dec. 29, 1948, in Maries County, a son of Roman A. and Mary Wilhelmina Berhorst Wieberg. He was married May 4, 1974, in St. Thomas, to Joyce Elizabeth Luebbering, who survives at the home.

He was the current mayor of Argyle and a member of the town board. He was yard manager for Midwest Block and Brick Co.

A 1967 graduate of Fatima High School, Westphalia, he was an Army veteran of the Vietnam era.

He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Argyle; Knights of Columbus Council 2047; VFW Post 8045; and the Argyle Volunteer Fire Department.

He was treasurer of the St. Aloysius Cemetery Association.

Other survivors include: one son, Brian Wieberg, Argyle; two daughters, Amy Haller, Freeburg, and Kerry Kroll, Wardsville; three brothers, William Wieberg and Roman Wieberg Jr., both of St. Thomas, and Roger Wieberg,  Jefferson City; four sisters, Eldora Werner, Meta, Marilyn Lock,  Jefferson City, Arlene Thomas, St. Louis, and Debbie Williams, Holts Summit; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church. The Rev. Michael P. Murphy will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home,  Jefferson City, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation also will be from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.

CLARK

Arthur Clark, 93, Tuscumbia, died Dec. 10, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.

Arrangements are at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia.

NEUNER

Zeno Matthew Neuner, 77, Rich Fountain, died Dec. 10, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born April 23, 1923, in Rich Fountain, a son of Andrew and Elizabeth Koerber Neuner. He was married July 2, 1982, in Fulton, to Linda Baysinger, who survives at the home.

A Navy veteran of World War II, he was a farmer. He worked for Quaker Windows, Freeburg, until his retirement in 1986. He owned a dairy and beef farm.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Rich Fountain, and the American Legion Post in Freeburg.

Other survivors include: three sons, Richard A. Neuner, Kingston, N.Y., and Ronald M. Neuner and Brandon L. Neuner, both of Rich Fountain; one daughter, Sharon A. Voss, Linn; four sisters, Laura Rudroff, Florissant, Mary Ann Wegman, Wichita Falls, Texas , and Johanna "Jenny" Bremer and Elsie Schroeder, both of  Jefferson City; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Church. The Rev. Mark Porterfield will officiate. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Morton Funeral Home, Linn, with a prayer service at 5:30 p.m., and from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to Sacred Heart School.

RAINS

Muriel Rains, 77,  Jefferson City, died Dec. 10, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born July 26, 1923, in Owensville, a daughter of Matt and Ida Crider Farris. She was married Feb. 2, 1943, in Owensville, to Ray Alvin Rains Sr., who preceded her in death.

She attended school in Owensville and was a homemaker.

She was employed in the housekeeping department at Columbia Regional Hospital, Columbia, and Lincoln Manor Nursing Home until her retirement.

Survivors include: four sons, Dwight A. Rains,  Jefferson City, Larry Rains, Clayton, Okla., Jerry Rains, Huntsville, Ala., and Ronnie Rains, Holts Summit; three daughters, Linda Paull,  Jefferson City, and Wanda Dunson and Rita Rivera, both of Tipton; one brother, William Floyd Rains, Columbia; two sisters, Marie Wilson, Washington , and Myrtle Gleba, Manteno, Ill.; 17 grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

Private family services will be Wednesday at Buescher Memorial Home. Burial will be private.

Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.

ALLMON

Services were Dec. 3 for Ruby L. Allmon, 70, Springfield, formerly of  Jefferson City, who died Dec. 1, 2000, at Primrose Place, Springfield.

She was born Sept. 21, 1930, in Eminence, a daughter of Jesse R. and Opal Irene Price Sconce. Her mother survives in Farmington. She was married Sept. 28, 1957, in Salem, to Ray Allmon, who survives at the home.

She was a secretary at the Missouri House of Representatives until her retirement.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Dianne Peck, Springfield; two stepdaughters, Adele Weatherly, Potosi, and Alice Buell, Hot Springs, Ark.; two sisters, Norma Sutton, Farmington, and Carol Hogan, St. Louis; two brothers, Jerry Sconce, Albuquerque, and Bill Sconce, O'Fallon; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services were held at Ayre-Goodwin-Lee Funeral Home, Rivermont. The remains were cremated.

BRIDGES

Viola Mae Bridges, 87,  Jefferson City, died Dec. 11, 2000, at  Jefferson City Manor Care Center.

She was born July 1, 1913, in Cherryville, Kan., a daughter of Charles L. and Bertha M. Hackler Cook.

A graduate of Cherryville High School, Cherryville, she worked for F.W. Wolworth and Montgomery Ward. She also worked for Brown Shoe Company in Fulton. She was a member of First Baptist Church and Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include: two sons, Lewis Bridges, Lake Ozark, and Marvin Heinrich,  Jefferson City; one daughter, Doris Bealer, Lebanon; one brother, Edward Cook, Cherryville; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Two daughters, Louise Keeney and Barbara Bridges, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Private burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Fulton.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.

HICKS

Inice Blance Hicks, 74, Camdenton, died Dec. 9, 2000, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach.

She was born Dec. 19, 1925, in Macks Creek, a daughter of Clarence and Sara Frances "Fannie" Parrack Stoufer. She was married Nov. 25, 1944, to Marvin Roma Hicks, who survives at the home.

She had lived in the Macks Creek area and moved to Camdenton in the 1950s after living in Kansas City and Windsor. She was a member of the Macks Creek Baptist Church. She was a homemaker.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Carol Joy Richardson, Camdenton; two brothers, Carl Stoufer and Donald Stoufer, both of Macks Creek; four sisters, Berniece Stoufer, Kansas City, Bonnie Young, Springfield, Bessie Laughlin, Macks Creek, and Beulah Owsley, Shawnee, Kan.; one granddaughter and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother and two halfbrothers.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton. The Rev. Dean Rooffener will officiate. Burial will be in Big Niangua Cemetery, Roach.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.
