JOHNSON
Jewel Johnson, 62, Bunceton, died Dec. 10, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born March 14, 1938, in Gravois Mills, a son of Charles E. and Hester E. Walters Johnson.
He was a retired truck driver.
Survivors include: five sons, Ronald Johnson, Blue Springs, Terry E. Johnson, Hamilton, Kan., Ricky Johnson, Wellington, Christopher Johnson, Kansas City, and Robert Johnson, state of Hawaii; one daughter, Julie Gederal, Latel, Texas ; three brothers, Junior L. Johnson, Mexico, Loren Johnson, Florence, and Ronald Johnson, Stover; five sisters, Genevieve Guthrie, Lockeford, Calif., Lorene Tomblinson, Barnett, Darele Lujen, Sedalia, Sharon Kay Branch, Versailles, and Debby Gilmore, Bunceton; 19 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. The Rev. Danny Owsley will officiate. Burial will be in Versailles Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
KINTER
Alta Kinter, 91, Jefferson City, died Dec. 12, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born Aug. 14, 1909, in Brumley, a daughter of Cardell and Ellie Mae Phillips Robinett. She was married to Orville Atteberry, who preceded her in death. She was married in 1946 to Buck Kinter, who died in 1976.
She worked for Tweedie Shoe Factory for many years. She was a former member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Survivors include: two sons, Billy Robinett, Alton, Ill., and Larry Kinter, California; five daughters, Dorothy Johnson, Holts Summit, Fay Todd, Jefferson City, Linda Todd, New Bloomfield, and Pat Wheat and Glenda Bavetta, both of the state of California; five brothers; three sisters; 16 grandchildren; six step grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and three step great-great-grandchildren.
Two grandchildren preceded her in death.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home. The Rev. Lowell Perkins will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
SCHUPP
Jane Randazzo Schupp, 77, Jefferson City, died Dec. 11, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 25, 1923, in High Point, a daughter of Sterling C. and Elsie M. Barnhart Davenport. She was married in February 1942 in Linn to Jack Randazzo, who died in 1964.
A lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area, she graduated from Jefferson City High School. She co-owned and co-operated Randazzo's Package Stores and the Jubilee Village for many years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: two daughters, Susan R. Brand and Elnora Bryan, both of Jefferson City; one brother, Leonard C. Davenport, Springdale, Ark.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. Lowell Perkins will officiate.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday.
Memorials are suggested to The Crohn's Disease Foundation or Hospice of Jefferson City and Mid-Missouri.
HASSLER
Fern O. Hassler, 74, Chamois, died Dec. 11, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born March 6, 1926, in Hope, a daughter of Simon and Gertie Clark Stock. She was married Sept. 17, 1941, in Linn, to Kenneth L. Hassler, who died Dec. 26, 1998.
A lifelong area resident, she attended school in Hope. A homemaker, she was a member of the Oklahoma Church of Christ, Chamois, and the Community Club in Hope.
Survivors include three daughters, Shirley Hern, Anaheim, Calif., Delores Tindle, Jefferson City, and Marsha Shasserre, Chamois, and seven grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Oklahoma Church of Christ. The Rev. Mark Gregor will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Morton Funeral Home, Linn.
Memorials are suggested to Oklahoma Church of Christ Cemetery Fund.
PERRY
Dorothy Ann Perry, 88, Jefferson City, died Dec. 12, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 6, 1912, in St. Thomas, a daughter of Herman B. and Josephine A. Dickneite Schell. She was married Feb. 28, 1932, in University City, to W. Edwin Perry, who died June 11, 1975.
She attended schools in St. Thomas. She was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church and the Dorcas Society of the church. She also held various church offices.
A homemaker, she was a manager for the Kress Store and was a partner in the Perry Sign Company until her retirement.
She is survived by one son, Donald R. Perry, Jefferson City.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Buescher Memorial Home. Pastor Daniel Keffenberger will officiate.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday.
Memorials are suggested to the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
WELSH
Evelyn F. Welsh, 85, Versailles, died Dec. 10, 2000, at Good Shepherd Care Center, Versailles.
She was born Dec. 4, 1915, in Kansas City, Kan., a daughter of Frank and Cecil Sargent Foerschler.
Survivors include two sisters, Dorothy Gentry, Kansas City, and Grace Wornell, Archie.
The remains were cremated. Entombment will be in Garber Memorial Estates Cemetery Columbarium, Laurie.
Arrangements are under the direction of Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Laurie.
AHRENS
Lydia Marie Ahrens, 91, Linn, died Dec. 11, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born June 12, 1909, in Bland, a daughter of Henry F. and Elizabeth Kraenow Biere.
A homemaker, she was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church and the Pilgrim Lutheran Ladies Aid, both of Freedom.
Survivors include: three sons, Vernon Ahrens, Dover, Ark., Randall Ahrens, Winslow, Ariz., and Kenneth Ahrens, Russellville, Ark.; one daughter, Maxine Bossaller, Linn; one brother, Victor Biere, Bland; 13 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
One infant son, Melvin Ahrens, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home, Owensville. Pastor Norman Dierking will officiate. Burial will be in Old Bland Cemetery, Bland.
Visitation will begin at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
BEAM
Gladys Beam, 79, Bolivar, died Dec. 11, 2000, at Citizens Memorial Hospital, Bolivar.
She was born April 6, 1921, in Vienna, a daughter of James and Lucille Conner Copeland. She was married March 15, 1942, in Fulton, to Delmer Beam who preceded her in death.
A former resident of Dixon, she attended the Dixon Family Church, and later the Bolivar Assembly of God Church. She had been employed as a clerk at Fort Leonard Wood and was a homemaker.
Survivors include: two sons, Lonnie Beam and Roger Beam, both of Dixon; one daughter, Lana Sloan, Bolivar; two sisters, Violet Doyle and Bonnie Burgess, both of Dixon; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Dixon. Burial will be in Dixon Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday.
CLARK
Arthur Clark, 93, Tuscumbia, died Dec. 10, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born May 9, 1907, in Miller County, a son of Thomas and Della Roark Clark. He was married Feb. 24, 1934, in Tuscumbia, to Mildred Edwards, who died May 15, 2000.
He was a member of Humphreys Creek Christian Church, near Capps, and the Hickory Hill Masonic Lodge 211.
Survivors include: two sons, James "Jim" Clark and Orville Clark, both of Tuscumbia; three daughters, Coleen Annett and Glenda Wilson, both of Tuscumbia, and Linda Ruff, Springfield; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Humphreys Creek Christian Church. The Rev. Gene Edwards will officiate. Burial will be in Capps Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia, with a Masonic service at 7 p.m.
