DuBOIS

Hazel Victoria DuBois, 79, Fortuna, died Dec. 14, 2000, at Tipton Manor.

She was born June 20, 1921, in Weston, a daughter of Henry and Lucy Booth Taulbee. She was married Oct. 5, 1946, to David Miller DuBois, who survives in Tipton.

She was a member of the Fortuna Baptist Church, the Fortuna Senior Citizens and the Women's Missionary Union. She served on the Moniteau County Election Board and assisted with Bible School at Fortuna Baptist Church.

Other survivors include: four sons, Vic DuBois and Chris DuBois, both of Fortuna, Roger DuBois, Hartley, Iowa, and Pat DuBois, Tipton; one daughter, Brenda White , Gravois Mills; one brother, Dr. Samuel Taulbee, Versailles; 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Two sons, Doug DuBois and Joe DuBois, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Fortuna Baptist Church. The Rev. W. D. Martensen will officiate. Burial will be in Versailles City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Meisenheimer-Griswold Funeral Home, Tipton.

Memorials are suggested to the Fortuna Baptist Church.

WILLIAMS

Bonnie Lee Williams, 76,  Jefferson City died Dec. 15, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born Sept. 29, 1924, in California, a daughter of James A. and Mattie C. Markham Pankey. She was married Sept. 29, 1956, in  Jefferson City, to Andrew Bryan Williams, who died Dec. 28, 1991.

She was employed by the Missouri Department of Revenue for more than 30 years until her retirement. She had a child care service in her home. She attended school in California. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Survivors include: four stepsons, Andrew Bryan Williams Jr., Robert W. Williams and Donald T. Williams, all of Maryland, and Woodrow D. Williams, North Carolina; one sister, Marga Wilson, Sedona, Ariz.; 10 step grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Buescher Memorial Home. The Rev. Greg Higley will officiate. Burial will be in California City Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association, American Lung Association or to the Kidney Foundation.

KELLER

Richard K. Keller, 85,  Jefferson City, died Dec. 15, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.

He was born Sept. 1, 1915, in Pittsburg, a son of L.L. and Estelle Nee Miller Keller. He was married April 27, 1940, in St. Charles, to Bernice Hale, who survives at the home.

He was a member of St. Peters United Church of Christ, New Haven. He was a former president of a men's club and the Excelsior School Board. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge and a founder of the Franklin County R-2 PTA. He was on the committee to establish reorganized school districts.

He was a veteran of World War II. He farmed and owned and operated Keller's Office Machine business in New Haven and Hermann for over 25 years. He ran a rubber stamp business in  Jefferson City until his retirement.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Patricia Buschmann, Hermann; one son, Leon Keller, Lohman; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Toedtmann-Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven. The Rev. Eugenia Althen will officiate. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.

LAUF

"Fronie" Sophie Veltrop Lauf, 96,  Jefferson City, died Dec. 15, 2000, at St. Joseph Home for the Aged.

She was born April 28, 1904 in Folk, a daughter of Henry and Sophia Mayens Veltrop. She was married Nov. 24, 1925, in Taos, to Alex Lauf, who died March 16, 1986.

A homemaker, she was a member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph; Glennon Circle, Daughters of Isabella; St. Ann's Sodality; and the Legion of Mary at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Survivors include: four daughters, Kathleen Kuttenkuler and Joan Nacy, both of  Jefferson City, Rita May, Cuba, and Ann Leah Schwartz, St. Louis; one son, Harold Lauf,  Jefferson City; 21 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

An infant son, Tommy George Lauf, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Home for the Aged. The Rev. Msgr. Charles Patterson will officiate. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Taos.

Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. today, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, with a rosary at 4 p.m. Additional visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Monday, at St. Joseph Home for the Aged.

Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Home for the Aged.

SHORES

Marion R. Shores, 92, California, died Dec. 16, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born Feb. 27, 1908, in Moniteau County, a son of Glen A. and Bertha Ratcliff Shores. He was married in 1933 to Eva Thixton, who died Nov. 27, 1969. He was married April 3, 1976, to Juanita Gattermeir, who survives in California.

He owned and operated a radio and TV sales and service shop in California for 35 years. He was a member and deacon at First Christian Church in California. He was a member of the Gideons, the California Lion's Club, and California Lodge 183 AF & AM, where he served as secretary for 34 years. He was a member of California Chapter 521 Order of the Eastern Star, York, Rite, Scottish Rite-Columbia Lodge of Perfection and the Moolah Shrine Temple. He also served on the board of Central Savings and Loan. He was active in the Republican Party. He graduated from Versailles High School.

Other survivors include: one stepson, J. David Gattermeir, Lee's Summit; one step grandson and two step great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services. The Rev. David Nicholson will officiate. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7:30 p.m. Monday, with Masonic services at 7 p.m.

SCHREEN

The memorial service for Carl Schreen, 96, New Bloomfield, who died Dec. 8, 2000, has been postponed to a later date.

The service had been scheduled for noon today (Saturday) at Freeman Chapel, but has been postponed to a date to be announced later.

VELTROP

Fronie Sophie Veltrop, 96,  Jefferson City, died Dec. 15, 2000, at St. Joseph Home for the Aged.

Arrangements are at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.

HOOK

Mildred C. "Mimi" Hook, 92, Gravois Mills, died Dec. 15, 2000, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach.

She was born July 4, 1908, in Harrisburg, a daughter of Homer and Hattie Brown Shaw. She was married Feb. 10, 1931, in Columbia, to Howard A. Hook, who died July 24, 1985.

A graduate of Columbia High School, she attended the University of Missouri School of Fine Arts, Columbia. She worked at Harzfeld's Dress Shop, Columbia. In 1967 she moved to Cobbs Chimney Point, and was a resident of Gravois Mills since 1983.

She attended the Lutheran Church.

Survivors include: two daughters, Donna Kay Gatlin, Lebanon Junction, Ky., and Harriett Wittrock, Gravois Mills; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Versailles. Pastor Erik Rottmann will officiate. Inurnment will be in Garber Memorial Estates, Laurie.

Visitation will be from 9:30 -11 a.m. Saturday.

DERR

Helen Bowers Derr, 78,  Jefferson City, died Dec. 17, 2000, at Oak View Living Center.

She was born Nov. 10, 1922, in New Castle, Pa., a daughter of Anthony and Pearl Morse Bowers. She was married May 7, 1944, in New Castle, to Raymond P. Derr, who survives at the home.

A 1940 graduate of Union High School, New Castle, she was a Tupperware manager in Erie, Pa., for 18 years until her retirement in 1982. She moved from Erie to Lakeland, Fla., in 1984. She moved to  Jefferson City in 1995.

She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Bonnie S. Verdot,  Jefferson City, and Sharon L. Adyorough, Atlanta; one son, Gary R. Derr, Albion, Pa.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Services will be at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Association.

Arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
