HUTCHISON
John G. Hutchison Sr., 81, Sedalia, died Dec. 17, 2000, in Sedalia.
He was born May 1, 1919, in Eldon, a son of James G. and Myrtle Rosetta Wright Hutchison. He was married May 1, 1966, in the state of Oklahoma, to Bertha Geraldine Hutchison, who survives at the home.
He joined the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1940 and was an Army veteran of World War II. He worked in cartage and installation in the mobile home industry.
Currently a member of the 6th Armored Task Force, he was a member of DAV Chapter 50 and VFW Post 2591, both in Sedalia, and Masonic Lodge 54 A.F. & A.M., Topeka, Kan.
Other survivors include: two sons, John Hutchison Jr., Blue Springs, and Donald Hutchison, Eldon; two sisters, Eulah Lee, Jefferson City, and Ellen Guyan, Torrance, Calif.; one brother, Roy Lee Hutchison, Eldon; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Bill Talley will officiate. Burial will be in Eldon City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, and from noon-2 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials are suggested to Bothwell Hospice.
McCUBBIN
Roy O. McCubbin, 92, Eldon, died Dec. 17, 2000, at Eldon Health Care.
He was born Aug. 11, 1908, in Brumley, a son of James and Eliza May Schooley McCubbin. He was married April 7, 1928, in Tuscumbia, to Ruth May Myers, who died May 17, 1990.
He was deacon at First Baptist Church, Eldon, where he served on the building, pulpit and stewardship committees. He was assistant treasurer and later treasurer for the church. He was a member of Iberia Masonic Lodge 410 A.F. & A.M. He was chairman of the building committee of First Baptist Church, Ulman.
He is survived by one brother, Carrol J. McCubbin, Lake Ozark.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church, Eldon. The Rev. Randall Bunch and the Rev. Bob Buster will officiate. Burial will be in Hawkins Cemetery, near Brumley.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. today at Rekus Funeral Home, Eldon.
Memorials are suggested to Eldon Health Care or Missouri River Hospice.
POINDEXTER
Gardella Johnson Poindexter, 96, Prairie Home, died Dec. 16, 2000, at Hidden Lake Care Center, Raytown.
She was born May 18, 1904, in St. Louis, a daughter of Charles A. and Lenora Turner Johnson. She was married Dec. 24, 1926, to James G. Poindexter, who died in 1971.
She graduated from Prairie Home High School. She earned a bachelor's degree from Central Missouri State University and a master's degree from the University of Missouri.
She taught at Hazel Dell School near Prairie Home, then spent 25 years at Prairie Home High School, serving several years as principal. She taught in the Raytown School District until her retirement in 1972.
She was a member of the Prairie Home United Methodist Church and attended Blue Ridge United Methodist Church, Raytown.
She was a member of IQ chapter, PEO and Delta Kappa Gamma. She was honored by the State Department of Education as a Pioneers teacher for the state of Missouri, where she taught for 49 years.
Survivors include: two daughters, Jeanne Poindexter Lacy, Prairie Home, and Ann Poindexter Lyons, Raytown; two sisters, Madeline Johnson Carpenter, Houston, Texas , and Frances Johnson Stock, Boonville; five granddaughters; and six great-grandchildren.
One grandson preceded her in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Prairie Home United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Boonville.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Thacher-Wood Funeral Home, Prairie Home.
Memorials are suggested to Kansas City Hospice and Prairie Home Methodist Church.
PANTOGA
Lawrence Nicholas "Larry" Pantoga, 58, Camdenton, died Dec. 16, 2000, at his home.
He was born Sept. 5, 1942, in Chicago, a son of Joseph and Rebecca Hernandez Pantoga. He was married July 23, 1999, to Judy R. Gainan, who survives at the home.
He was a 1960 graduate of Maryville Academy, Des Plaines, Ill. He was a veteran of the Air Force and Naval Reserves. He worked as a driver for Greyhound Bus Lines for 29 years, retiring in 1998.
He later lived in the Camdenton area and worked for the Missouri Department of Corrections, Tipton. He was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church, Camdenton, the Moose Lodge, Rolla, and the American Legion, St. Robert.
Other survivors include: four sons, Lawrence Pantoga, Springdale, Ark., Mike Pantoga, Rolla, Adam Pantoga, Springfield, and Shawn Pantoga, Charleston, S.C.; one stepdaughter, Jodi Gainan, Springfield; two stepsons, Shawn Gainan, Wibaux, Mont., and Shane Gainan, Heidelberg, Germany; five brothers, Richard Pantoga, Omaha, Neb., Robert Pantoga, Evanston, Ill., Joe Pantoga, Whiting, Ind., Raul Pantoga, West Des Moines, Iowa, and Tony Pantoga, Chicago; four sisters, Barbara Hoyda and Beatrice Pantoga, both of Whiting, Ind., Patsy Perez-Murrey, Strongville, Ohio, and Lu Casteneda, Chicago; three grandchildren; three step-grandchildren;.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Bellarmine Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Resurrection Cemetery, St. Robert.
A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. today in the Waynesville Memorial Chapel, with visitation to follow until 8:30 p.m.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton.
RAMSEY
D. June Ramsey, 75, Overland Park, Kan., formerly of Jefferson City, died Dec. 16, 2000, at her home.
She was born July 3, 1925, in Olathe, Kan., a daughter of Dale M. and Thelma Edwards Michael Atkisson. She was married to Raymond L. Ramsey, who preceded her in death.
In 1943, she graduated from high school in Council Grove, Kan. She was employed at Dillard's until her retirement in 1997. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Overland Park.
Survivors include: three daughters, Sharon Capen, Overland Park, and Denise Conner, Olathe, and Diane Smith, Lakeville, Minn.; three sisters, Doris Ames and Norma Woodson, both of Jefferson City, and Carol Rudroff, Linn; one brother, Charles Atkisson, Shreveport, La.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Private family services will be Thursday in Overland Park.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or to a charity of the donor's choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of D.W. Newcomer's Sons Funeral Home, Overland Park.
ROBB
Dr. Harold P. Robb, 76, Ocala, Fla., formerly of Jefferson City, died Dec. 10, 2000, at his home.
He was born in Aberdeen, Scotland. He was married to Betty Robb, who survives at the home.
A psychiatrist, he was deputy director and later director of the Missouri Department of Mental Health from 1966 to 1976. He retired to Florida in 1995 after a 40-year career in mental health. He was a British Royal Navy veteran of World War II.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Carol Deese, state of Texas , and Trish Robb, state of Michigan; two sons, Harry Robb and Sandy Robb, both of the state of Missouri; and six grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to the Marion County Hospice, Ocala, Fla.
Arrangements were under the direction of National Cremation Society, Fruitland Park, Fla.
CAMPBELL
Sandra Alane Campbell, 51, Versailles, died Dec. 16, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born Oct. 19, 1949, in Chillicothe, a daughter of Frank H. and Ellen Claudine Elder Westfall. Her mother survives in Centralia. She was married June 11, 1977, to the Rev. Roderick "Rod" Campbell, who survives at the home.
She was a teacher in High Point, Dixon, New Orleans and Tokyo International School.
She was a member of West Union Baptist Church, near Versailles.
Other survivors include: two sons, Caleb Lee Campbell and Frank Nathan Campbell, both of the home; maternal grandmother, Laura Ellen Elder, Centralia; and one brother, Claude Westfall, Wildwood.
One child preceded her in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at West Union Baptist Church. The Rev. William Johnson, the Rev. Ron Melton, the Rev. Guy Thomas and the Rev. Todd Forman will officiate. Private family burial will be in Versailles Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to Mount Carmel Baptist Church or West Union Baptist Church designated to foreign missions.
HERIGON
Rose C. Herigon, 88, Jefferson City, died Dec. 17, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born July 21, 1912, in St. Thomas, a daughter of Theodore and Elizabeth Wankum Groner. She was married May 15, 1934, in St. Thomas, to Joseph B. Herigon, who died Nov. 13, 1982.
She was employed with Osage County R-1 School, Simonsen Public School and Gerbes West. She was a member of St. Joseph Cathedral, the St. Bridgett Quilting Guild and the Ladies Sodality.
Survivors include: three daughters, Shirley Stieferman and Jo Ann Herigon, both of Jefferson City, and Marilyn Dierking, Blue Springs; three sons, Marvin Herigon and Joe Herigon, both of Jefferson City, and Jerry Herigon, Overland Park, Kan.; one sister, Regina Kroll, Mokane; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one step great-granddaughter.
One infant daughter, Elizabeth Herigon, and one granddaughter preceded her in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Cathedral. The Rev. Frederick J. Elskamp will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
