JOHNSON
Bertha Ruth "Granny" Johnson, 81, Jefferson City, died Dec. 19, 2000, at her home.
She was born Sept. 23, 1919, in Monroe, La., a daughter of Gus and Lula Neal Lighting. She was married April 3, 1936, in St. Louis, to John Johnson, who died in 1989.
She attended Vashon High School, St. Louis. A resident of the Jefferson City area for the past 20 years, she was a homemaker.
Survivors include: two sons, Gene Johnson, Jefferson City, and Reginald Johnson, St. Louis; one daughter, Carolyn Pelc, Jefferson City; one sister, Minnie Ross, St. Louis; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
One son, Carlos Johnson, died July 4, 1984.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Freeman Mortuary. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Saturday.
Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Jefferson City and Mid-Missouri.
PETREE
Carl Henry Petree, 85, Tipton, died Dec. 18, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born Aug. 15, 1915, in Excelsior, a son of James H. and Hazel Chaney Petree. He was married Aug. 25, 1943, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Helen Louise Lehn, who died July 2, 1998.
He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II and received the "Farm Family of the Year" award for Moniteau County in 1969.
He was a member of St. Andrew's Church, Tipton, the Sedalia Moose Lodge and VFW, Sedalia. He was a past member of the American Legion Post, Tipton, and a past member of the Missouri State Tractor Pullers Association.
Survivors include: seven sons, Larry Petree, William Petree and Randall Petree, all of Tipton, David Petree, Otterville, Daryl Petree, Syracuse, Ronald Petree, Clarksburg, and Kenneth Petree, Bunceton; seven daughters, Judy Johnson, Jefferson City, Ruth Anne Self and Donna Raymond, both of Tipton, Rita Fry, Rose Homan and Janice Benny, all of Otterville, and Carla Homan, Florence; four brothers, Eddie Petree, John Petree, Russell Petree and Walter Petree, all of Sedalia; two sisters, Wanda Griffin and Margaret Murray, both of Sedalia; 52 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Tipton. Fr. Henry Reichert will officiate. Burial will be in Moreau Cemetery, Tipton.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Meisenheimer-Griswold Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to St. Andrew's Church or school or a charity of the donor's choice.
ROBERTSON
Ralph Landon Robertson, 64, Iberia, died Dec. 19, 2000, at his home.
He was born Aug. 16, 1936, in Corning, Ark., a son of Evert and Edith Bland Robertson.
An Army veteran, he worked for Modern Sanitation since 1985. He was baptized in 1982 at Alice Brooks Church, Delaplaine, Ark.
Survivors include: two sons, Leroy Robertson, and Jerrald Prescott Robertson, both of Iberia; one daughter, Loretta Armstrong, Iberia; one brother, Dewayne Robertson, Poplar Bluff; one sister, Pauline Risenhover, Carlise, Ark.; and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia. The Rev. Dennis Nichols will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, with military honors under the direction of Iberia VFW Post 6167 and Iberia American Legion Post 105.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
BAUMGARTNER
James W. Baumgartner, 80, Belle, died Dec. 20, 2000, at his home.
He was born Nov. 8, 1920, near Belle, a son of August and Emma Baxter Baumgartner. He was married Aug. 13, 1955, in Owensville, to Bertha Stockton, who survives at the home.
He worked for 20 years as a mechanic for Lloyd's Motor Company and at Kingsford as a mechanic and in maintenance before retiring. He was a member of Liberty Church of Christ, Belle.
Other survivors include one daughter, Judy Mayor, Jefferson City.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Liberty Church of Christ. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Sassmann's Funeral Home, Belle.
HILE
Floyd P. Hile, 65, Lohman, died Dec. 21, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.
Arrangements are at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.
BOSS
Harold Peter Boss, 89, Chamois, died Dec. 21, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born July 18, 1911, in Chamois, a son of Joseph and Bertha Rippstein Boss.
He attended schools in Chamois. He was a farmer in the Chamois area until 1947 when he went to work for the city of Chamois for 10 years. He later did repair work.
He was a member of the Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church and had been a member of the Chamois Booster Club. He was a fireman in Chamois.
Survivors include: five sisters, Lorene Holzem, Morrison, Helen Holzem, Linn, Dorothy Topal, Peoria, Ill., Genevieve Boss, Linn, and Rosella Boss, Chamois; and one brother, Donald Boss, Hudson, Fla.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. The Rev. Pat Dowling will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Meyer-Hilke-Millard Funeral Home, Chamois, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the Arthritis Foundation or the Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
DAVIS
Howard Wesley Davis, 80, Fulton, died Dec. 21, 2000, at his home.
He was born April 18, 1920, in Readsville, a son of Clifford R. and Edith Boone Davis. He was married Dec. 22, 1939, in Linn, to Ruth Jennings, who died Sept. 2, 1999.
He owned and operated Davis Bus Company from 1959 to 1985. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church, Fulton. He was a 32nd Degree Mason of Masonic Lodge, Mokane.
Survivors include one son, Carroll Davis, Fulton, one grandson and one great-granddaughter.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton. Bruce Williamson will officiate. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, with a Masonic service.
LOWES
Clinton Wayne Lowes, 42, Versailles, died Dec. 19, 2000, in Versailles.
He was born Feb. 9, 1958, in St. Louis, a son of Donald E. Sr. and Virginia Thelma Landreth Lowes. He was married to Joy Lynn Brill, who died June 29, 2000.
Survivors include: one son, Jesse Lowes, of the home; one stepdaughter, Tasa Branch, Camdenton; and one sister, Julia House, Shawnee, Kan.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. Burial will be in Versailles Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10:30-11 a.m. Saturday.
Memorials are suggested to a fund being established for his son.
MOGLE
Patricia Lee Mogle, 59, Camdenton, died Dec. 21, 2000, at her home.
She was born Dec. 25, 1940, in Hammond, Ind., a daughter of Bill and Agness Miller Dulaney. She was married to Michael D. Mogle, who died in February 1975.
She graduated from high school in Springfield, Ill. She was employed at Lake Regional Hospital and then attended college to study business. She worked at Wal-Mart as a sales associate for the past 13 years.
Survivors include: one son Phillip Andrew Stout, Camdenton; three daughters, Karen Mogle and Michele Keeney, both of Camdenton, and Lisa Leonarduzzi, Montreal; one brother, Ernest Dodson, state of Illinois; and nine grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Saturday at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton. The Rev. Rick Ginnings will officiate.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday.
Memorials are suggested to Ellis Fischel Cancer Center.
LANGSTADT
Margaret Lois Langstadt, 86, Holts Summit, died Dec. 21, 2000, at her home.
