LOETHEN
William Jerome "Jerry" Loethen, 71, Columbia, died Dec. 27, 2000, at Vencor Hospital, Tampa, Fla.
He was born Oct. 5, 1929, in Jefferson City, a son of George E. and Della Alice Patton Loethen. He was married July 20, 1957, in Jefferson City, to Rosemary E. Willcoxon, who survives.
He was a Marine veteran of the Korean War. He graduated from Columbia College with a bachelor's degree in business administration.
He worked for State Farm Insurance for 34 years as superintendent of data processing. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Columbia, Knights of Columbus and the Data Processing Management Association.
Other survivors include: one son, George Loethen, Columbia; seven daughters, Mary Sparks, Greenville, S.C., Jean Payne, Lilburn, Ga., Patty Stretz, Boonville, Janet Newell, Jacksonville, Fla., Nancy Cain and Amy Ryan, both of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Ellen Elwood, Columbia; one brother, Richard Loethen, Springfield; two sisters, Ila Jean Carlson, Northboro, Iowa, and Rachel Prenger, Jefferson City; and 17 grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. The Rev. David Viet will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Memorial Funeral Home, Columbia, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

PATTERSON
Lillian Ann Patterson, 77, Taos, died Dec. 28, 2000, in Jefferson City.
She was born Jan. 4, 1923, in the state of California, a daughter of Gene and Lillian Ann Jileck Bonnel. She was married Feb. 28, 1947, in Jefferson City, to Charles Wayne Patterson, who died July 26, 1989.
She lived in St. Louis 18 years before moving to Taos. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church, Taos.
Survivors include: two daughters, Patty Siewing, St. Louis, and Billie Jean Roark, Henley; one sister, June Wellington, San Lorenzo, Calif.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church, Marys Home. The Rev. Clarence Wiederholt and the Rev. Don Antweiler will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Phillips Funeral Home, Marys Home, with a rosary at 7 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Xavier Church; or tribute gifts to the Capital Region Medical Foundation.
WOOLLEY
Orpha May Brewer Woolley, 97, Belle, died Dec. 27, 2000, at Frene Valley Nursing Home, Owensville.
She was born July 13, 1903, in Miller County, a daughter of Ulysless and Lucy Gier Brewer. She was married March 2, 1922, in Tuscumbia, to Fred Henry Woolley, who died Feb. 26, 1979.
She worked at International Shoe Company, Belle, until retirement. She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church, Belle, VFW Ladies Auxiliary and an honorary member of the Christian Singles Group.
Survivors include: two sons, Lloyd Woolley and Harold "Wimp" Woolley, both of Belle; five daughters, Pearl Pointer, Woodriver, Ill., Brooksie Hicks, St. Johns, Maxine Wilhold, Edwardsville, Ill., and Judy Picker and Mildred Green, both of Belle; two sisters, Opal Bunch and Treda Schupp, both of Eldon; 28 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
Two sons, Virgil Dean Wooley and Fred Junior Woolley, two granddaughters and one great-granddaughter, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Faith Baptist Church, Belle. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery, Belle.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Sassmann's Funeral Home, Belle.
PHELPS
F. Powell Phelps, 83, Las Vegas, Nev., formerly of Jefferson City, died Dec. 27, 2000, at his home.
He was born Aug. 2, 1917, in Alton, Ill., a son of Edward S. and Margaret Powell Phelps. He was married Feb. 16, 1982, in McAllen, Texas , to Dorothy Zavoral, who died Feb. 23, 1998.
He was a resident of the Jefferson City area for the majority of his life, and he was a 1935 graduate of Jefferson City High School. He was employed for several years by Shryack-Hirst, a wholesale grocer. He moved to the west coast and spent six years working.
He served in the U.S. Navy with the Pacific Naval Fleet. In April 1948, he bought a small store in Jefferson City and went into the retail food business. He was the founder and owner of the Savmore Food Stores in Jefferson City and Columbia.
He served on the board of directors, was secretary and president of the Associated Wholesale Grocers, Kansas City and Springfield. He served on the board of directors of a real estate development company and on the board of directors of several life insurance companies in Missouri and Alabama.
Survivors include: one son, Randle Phelps, Las Vegas; two daughters, Sara Phelps and Nancy Iuen, both of Dallas, Texas ; one step-daughter, Sally Rackers, Jefferson City; three step-sons, Joseph Zavoral, Brainard, Minn., Charles Zavoral, Holts Summit, Robert Zavoral, Chicago, Ill.; two sisters, Ruth Faucett, Rolla, and Margaret Coones, Clarksville, Ark.; two grandchildren; and eight step-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Freeman Chapel, Jefferson City. The Rev. L. Kyle Hern will officiate. Burial will be in the Mausoleum of Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be at the mortuary from 10-11 a.m. Saturday.
Memorials are suggested to the Boy Scouts of America.
HOSKINS
John Ellis Hoskins, 82, Versailles, died Dec. 28, 2000, at Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital, Columbia.
He was born Oct. 21, 1918, in Henley, a son of Frank W. and Cora Bell Belshe Hoskins. He was married April 28, 1946, in Emmett, Idaho, to Maxie Rogerson, who survives at the home.
He was a farmer and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Hickory Hill Baptist Church.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Carol White and Mary Jane Moon, both of Versailles; three grandchildren and one great-grandchildren.
One daughter, Diane Hoskins, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. Earl Hoskins Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Greenmore Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Barnett.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.
DUMMERMUTH
Maxine Dummermuth, 86, California, died Dec. 28, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center, Jefferson City.
She was born July 11, 1914, in Moniteau County, a daughter of Edward and Ida Murray Garrison. She was married Feb. 19, 1931, to Ernest Charles Dummermuth, who died Nov. 9, 1962.
She ran a boarding home for elderly people and worked as a binder at Von Hoffman Press for 12 years.
Survivors include: one son, Donald Dummermuth, Eldon; one brother, Kenneth Garrison, Russellville; two sisters, Norma Dean Wightman, California and Louise Woods, Higbee; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: two sons, Bobby Eugene and Charlie Dummermuth.
Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California. The Rev. Ken Mathes will officiate. Burial will be in the California City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
