ANDERSON
Marvel Helen Anderson, 98, California, died Dec. 31, 2000, at Tipton Manor, Tipton.
She was born Feb. 8, 1902, in Cresco, Iowa, a daughter of Henry and Anna Belle Bloomingdale Graham. She was married to Robert Anderson, who preceded her in death.
She was a restaurant cashier in Chicago before moving to California in 1968. She was a Baptist.
One daughter, Eugenia Louis, country of Mexico, survives.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California. The Rev. Roy Sparks will officiate. Burial will be in California City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
COPELAND
Services were Sunday for Madeline Duke Copeland, 78, Vienna, who died Dec. 29, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born Nov. 9, 1922, in Maries County, a daughter of Carrell and Catherine Weider Duke. She was married Aug. 30, 1941, to Joseph Aurther Copeland, who survives at the home.
A homemaker, she co-owned and worked on the family farm. She was a lifelong member of Union Hill Baptist Church, where she served 33 years as church treasurer and Sunday school teacher.
She served 33 years as treasurer of the Maries County Fair Board, and several years as treasurer of Union Hill Cemetery and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 12.
Other survivors include: one son, Joseph Henry Copeland, Florissant; one daughter, Marcella Marie Salts, Vienna; two sisters, Mary Adkins, Vienna, and Virginia Hohenstreet, Rosebud; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services were at Kordes Funeral Home, Vienna. The Rev. Don Maples officiated. Burial was in Union Hill Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to Union Hill Cemetery.
DUNCAN
David R. Duncan, 47, Chamois, died Dec. 31, 2000.
He was born March 25, 1953, in Jefferson City, a son of Russell and Juanita Stonner Duncan. He was married July 11, 1981, to Linda K. Shockley, who survives at the home.
He was a banker with the Bank of Chamois and a farmer. He was a member of the Lions Club, Chamois Ambulance District, volunteer fire department and Masonic Lodge A.F. and A.M. A 1971 graduate of Chamois High School, he was a 1975 graduate of Central Missouri State University, Warrensburg.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Tina Sieg and Marcie Duncan, both of Chamois; one son, Jon Duncan, Chamois; one brother, Steve Duncan, Jefferson City; and two grandchildren.
Private services will be held. The Rev. Deborah Pope and the Rev. Tony Townley will officiate.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Meyer-Hilke-Millard Funeral Home, Chamois.
Memorials are suggested to the Chamois Lions Club.
EVANS
Anna M. Evans, 85, Camdenton, died Dec. 27, 2000, at her home.
She was born Nov. 7, 1915, in Shamokin, Pa., a daughter of Frank and Anna Augustine Povish. She was married in 1932 to Patrick Frank Mervine, who died in 1945. She was married to Charles Evans who died in 1985.
She was a homemaker and a Catholic.
Survivors include: one son, Patrick Mervine, Henderson, Nev.; one brother, Albin Povish, Shamokin, Pa.; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton. Burial will be in Dale Blair Cemetery, Camdenton.
GENSERT
Gene W. Gensert, 71, Eldon, died Jan. 1, 2001, at Missouri Veterans Home, Mexico.
He was born Feb. 26, 1929, in Osage City, a son of Julius and Anna Fassbinder Gensert. He was married April 13, 1964, in Miami, Okla., to Betty Lou Hornick, who survives at the home.
An Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of Miller County VFW Post 2442. He was owner and operator of Gene's Amusement, The Chatterbox and Southside Bar and Grill in Eldon, and The Place, Lake Ozark. He was a heavy equipment operator for and member of the Hoisting Engineers Local 101, Kansas City. He was member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Eldon.
One sister, Betty McCubbin, survives in Lake Ozark.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Rekus Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. James O'Sullivan will officiate. Burial, with military honors, will be in Eldon City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials are suggested to the Miller County VFW Post 2442.
GIPSON
James Thomas Gipson, 70, Sunrise Beach, died Dec. 30, 2000, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach.
He was born Dec. 3, 1930, in Sterling, Ill., a son of William and Violet Moore Gipson. He was married Aug. 27, 1951, to Marian Miller, who survives at the home.
A graduate of high school in Rock Falls, Ill., he was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
He was employed with Ameritech for 34 years until his retirement in 1989 when he moved to Sunrise Beach. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Greenview, and a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Peoria, Ill., where he served as an elder.
Other survivors include: one son, Kyle Gipson, Peoria; one daughter, Michele Dodson, Littleton, Colo.; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Peace Lutheran Church, Greenview. Pastor Robin Fish will officiate. Burial will be in Peace Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials are suggested to Peace Lutheran Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton.
LAMPE
Muriel Roll Lampe, 76, Long Beach, Calif., formerly of Jefferson City, died Dec. 29, 2000, at Long Beach Memorial Hospital.
She was born Nov. 13, 1924, in Camden County, a daughter of C.C. "Lum" and Lola Roll. She was married to Ralph Lampe, who died Nov. 4, 1999.
She was a homemaker and an antique dealer.
Survivors include: one son, Dennis Dale Lampe, Long Beach; one daughter, Donna Jean McMartin, Long Beach; one brother, Denzil Roll, Jefferson City; six sisters, Iva Giraldes, Sunnyvale, Calif., Flora B. Goodman, Bastrop, La., Pauline Bedsworth, Warrenton, and Naomi Hencey, Hazel Howard and Barbara Downing, all of Jefferson City; and one grandson.
Private services will be held at a later date. The remains will be cremated.
Arrangements are under the direction of All Soul Mortuary, Long Beach.
LEE
Cecil D. Lee, 75, Linn Creek, died Dec. 29, 2000 at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.
He was born July 7, 1925, in Barnett, a son of Charles and Ollie Wilson Lee. He was married April 30, 1987, in St. Louis, to Dolores Joshu, who survives at the home.
He was employed by Otis Elevator in St. Louis as an elevator mechanic for 44 years.
Other survivors include: three sons, Larry Lee, Shepherds Town, W. Va., Gregory Lee, Melbourne, Fla., and Ronald Lee, St. Louis; one daughter, Diane Allen, Wildwood; three brothers, Donald Lee, St. Louis, Gregory Lee, McAllen, Texas , Robert E. Lee, Green Acres, Fla.; four sisters, Ola Bowen, St. Louis, Mary Harvey, Apell, Iowa, Ruby Joens, Des Moines, Iowa, Anna Lou Campbell, Union; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hopewell Union Church, Barnett. The Rev. James Randall will officiate. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery, Barnett.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. today at Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton.
MARTIN
Lillian Martin, 82, Dixon, died Dec. 31, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born Feb. 15, 1918, in Maries County, a daughter of Clem and Amanda Baker Jones. She was married Feb. 6, 1937, in Vienna, to Charles Martin, who died Aug. 15, 1980.
A homemaker, she was a member of Santee Community Church, Dixon.
Survivors include: two sons, Ronald D. Martin, St. Charles, and Donald G. Martin, Bolivar; one daughter, Joyce Sloan, Dixon; one brother, Wilbur Jones, Dixon; two sisters, Orpha Kelley, Dixon, and Louise Warnol, Pascagoula, Miss.; ten grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Dixon. The Rev. James St. John will officiate. Burial will be in Dixon Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday.
Memorials are suggested to Santee Community Church.
MOSLEY
Thomas Elmo "Bud" Mosley, 93, Fulton, died Dec. 31, 2000 at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.
He was born April 28, 1907, in Fulton, a son of William and Frances Hyten Mosley. He was married Aug. 17, 1929, in Fulton, to Alice V. Wickell, who died April 16, 1989.
He worked as a carpenter and farmer.
Survivors include: seven daughters, Jean Ousley and Rowena Cooke, both of Fulton, Frances Maddox, Columbia, Barbara Fry, Cold Water, Mich., Donna Rushing, Houston, Texas , Susan Baumgartner, Hallsville, and Marcia Bowie, Humble, Texas ; two sons Thomas Elmo "Sonny" Mosley Jr. and Monty Mosley, both of Fulton; 23 grandchildren; step grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
One grandson and one great-granddaughter preceded her in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton. Bruce Williamson will officiate. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Thursday.
