PORTING

Mary Florence Porting, 58,  Jefferson City, died Jan. 2, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born June 2, 1942, in  Jefferson City, a daughter of Carl L. and Margie Johanna Wolken Carker.

A graduate of  Jefferson City High School, she was a homemaker. She was employed at the Missouri Department of Revenue until her retirement.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and St. Ann's Sodality.

Survivors include: one brother, Richard John Carker, Wylie, Texas ; one sister, Carla Mack, Sugar Creek; and one half brother, Rick Carker.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Rev. Timothy Tatro will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Buescher Memorial Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Building Fund or St. Ann's Sodality.

BADER

Lorene Schell Bader, 96, Hemet, Calif., formerly of  Jefferson City, died Dec. 29, 2000, at Hemet Stanford Lodge, Hemet.

She was born Sept. 13, 1904, in  Jefferson City, a daughter of Louis G. and Louise Schell. She was married to Bill Bader Sr., who preceded her in death.

A homemaker, she was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church.

Survivors include: one stepson, Bill Bader Jr.; one sister, Betty Ann Schell Kolb,  Jefferson City; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Private services will be held in Hemet. The remains will be cremated.

Arrangements are under the direction of Mac Wayne Mortuary, Hemet.

BUCHANAN

Patricia Buchanan, 63,  Jefferson City, died Jan. 3, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.

She had been a teacher at Helias High School since 1958.

An All Schools Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Helias High School. The public is invited.

Further arrangements are under the direction of Houser-Millard Funeral Home.

PALMER

M. Elizabeth Palmer, 85, Columbia, died Jan. 2, 2001, at Ashland Healthcare Inc.

She was born April 4, 1915, in Columbia, a daughter of Hance and Myrtle Elizabeth McDaniel Jones. She was married to Sam Palmer.

She owned and operated Young Fashion and Childrens Store,  Jefferson City, for 20 years. She had a private pilot's license.

Survivors include one brother, Russ Nichols, Columbia.

Graveside services will be at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to Central Missouri Humane Society, P.O. Box 1251, Columbia, Mo. 65205.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Funeral Home, Columbia.

PHILLIPS

Mildred B. Phillips, 95, Harrison, Tenn., formerly of Latham, died Jan. 3, 2001, at Life Care Center, Collegedale, Tenn.

She was born Aug. 20, 1905, in Latham, a daughter of Lawrence H. and Mary Christian Newkirk Moser. She was married Sept. 1, 1926, in California, to Ernest Lloyd Phillips, who died Feb. 15, 1978.

A homemaker, she was a member of Hillside Baptist Church, Hixson, Tenn. She was a 1924 graduate of California High School.

Survivors include: four sons, Richard Phillips, Raymore, Lawrence Phillips, Harrison, Philip Phillips, Gladstone, and Paul Phillips, Odessa; one stepdaughter, Dixie Seal, Cassville; one sister, Louise Dick, Tipton; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California. The Rev. Bill Boren will officiate. Burial will be in High Point Cemetery, High Point.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Saturday.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.

ROGERS

Anna Susan Rogers, 81, New Bloomfield, died Jan. 3, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born July 18, 1919, in Portland, a daughter of James and Ida Virginia Bess Redden. She was married in 1935 to Joseph W. Rogers, who died May 23, 1999.

She co-owned and co-operated a family farm. She was a member of the Dixie Christian Church and the Callaway County Extension Club.

Survivors include: one daughter, Sandra Hicks, New Bloomfield; two sons, Buddy Joe Rogers, Mokane, and David Rogers, New Bloomfield; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

One grandson preceded her in death.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Maupin Funeral Home, Fulton. The Rev. Parker Rossman will officiate. Burial will be in Mokane Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday.

Memorials are suggested to the Dixie Christian Church.

SCHROER

Dora Marie Schroer, 71,  Jefferson City, died Jan. 3, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born Sept. 21, 1929, in  Jefferson City, a daughter of Frank and Sarah Zimmerman Lammers. She was married May 22, 1948, in  Jefferson City, to Ralph Schroer, who died Dec. 19, 1975.

She attended  Jefferson City public schools and was a homemaker. She was employed at various factories in the  Jefferson City area until her retirement.

She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church.

Survivors include: four sons, Ralph Schroer,  Jefferson City, John Dennis Schroer, Holts Summit, and Gary Joe Schroer and Donnie Schroer, both of St. Louis; three daughters, Louise Uptegrove, Holts Summit, and Mary Schroer and Jean Pfenenger, both of  Jefferson City; one brother, Lawrence Lammers, Hartsburg; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

One son, Louis Schroer, died April 25, 1997.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Buescher Memorial Home. The Rev. Don Lammers will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Saturday.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association, the American Lung Association or to a charity of the donor's choice.

BUCHANAN

Patricia Sue Buchanan, 63,  Jefferson City, died Jan. 3, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born Oct. 22, 1937, in Hallsville, a daughter of John H. and Margaret Mary Gales Bu-chanan.

She was a graduate of Hallsville High School and the University of Missouri-Columbia, where she earned a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in education.

She taught at Helias High School since 1958. She chaired the business department until 1999, when she became the school's technology coordinator.

She was a member of St. Joseph Cathedral, the Missouri State Teacher's Association and was an organizational member of the National Catholic Education Association.

She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society-Stau Chapter, where she was president from 1998 to 2000. She was a member and scholarship chair of the American Association of University Women; and treasurer and delegate to the state board of Missouri Right to Life (Mid-State Region).

Survivors include one brother, Thomas A. Buchanan, Bartlesville, Okla.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Cathedral. The Rev. Brendan Doyle will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Houser-Millard Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to the Helias Foundation, the Missouri Right to Life or the American Heart Association.

KOELLING

Anita A. Koelling, 80, Pershing, died Jan. 3, 2001, at Frene Valley Health Center, Hermann.

She was born Aug. 7, 1920, in Pershing, a daughter of William and Edna Kicker Rieks. She was married May 5, 1940, in Pershing, to Albert F. Koelling, who preceded her in death.

She was a member of Zion-St. Peter United Church of Christ, Pershing, and the Zion-St. Peter Ladies Fellowship.

She was employed with Stone Hill Winery, Hermann, for 22 years.

Survivors include: two sons, Nelson Koelling and Dennis Koelling, both of Morrison; one brother, Olan Rieks, St. Louis; two stepsisters, Goldie Hollandworth, Pershing, and Elsie Malan, Linn; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion-St. Peter United Church of Christ. The Rev. J. Joseph Trower will officiate. Burial will be in Zion-St. Peter Cemetery, Pershing.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Toedtmann-Grosse Funeral Home, Morrison.

Memorials are suggested to Zion-St. Peter United Church of Christ or Zion-St. Peter Cemetery.
