NOONAN

Sarah Elizabeth Noonan, 90,  Jefferson City, died Jan. 4, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born Jan. 30, 1910, in Rockham, S.D., a daughter of James D. and Lelia C. Justice Finnerty. She was married Aug. 25, 1931, in Worthing, S.D., to Stephen Francis Noonan, who died Nov. 23, 1971.

She graduated from high school in Redfield, S.D., and was a homemaker. She was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church, Huron, S.D., and Timber Creek Extension Club.

She was a volunteer with the Huron Hospital Auxiliary.

Survivors include: two daughters, E. Dianne Owens, Lompoc, Calif., and Mary L. Aubuchon, Holts Summit; two sons, Francis David Noonan, Virginia Beach, Va., and J.D. Noonan, Huron; two sisters, Gladys Robbins, state of Montana, and Nadine Zarneke, Redfield; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Three grandchildren preceded her in death.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Resurrection Catholic Church, Huron. The Rev. Joe Holzhauser will officiate. Burial will be in Redfield Catholic Cemetery, Redfield.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Welter Funeral Home, Huron, with a prayer service at 8 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.

Local arrangements are under the direction of Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.

WYSS

Nina Fay Wyss, 96, Enon, died Jan. 3, 2001, at her home.

She was born Sept. 18, 1904, near Russellville, a daughter of John F. and Sallie Wiser Long. She was married Sept. 17, 1924, in California, to Martin R. Wyss, who died July 31, 1989.

A homemaker, she was a graduate of Olean High School. She was a member of Enon Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Eldon. She taught a Sunday school class and served in the W.M.U. She worked on the family farm and livestock operation.

Survivors include: one son, Don Wyss, Enon; two daughters, Wilma Fields, Tucson, Ariz., and Barbara McDonald, Enon; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Enon Baptist Church. The Rev. Jasper Hunter and the Rev. C.D. Butler will officiate. Burial will be in Enloe Cemetery, Russellville. The Rev. Randy Trumbo will officiate.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Saturday at Weber and Sons Funeral Home, Russellville.

Memorials are suggested to Enon Baptist Church.

KING

Julia Lynn King, 44, Gravois Mills, died Jan. 3, 2001, at her home.

She was born Dec. 29, 1956, in Ft. Bragg, N.C., a daughter of Cecil and Daisy Cook. Her parents survive in Stover.

She was a graduate of Stover High School and was employed at Smithson's Inc., Stover, for 17 years.

Other survivors include: one son, Nicholas Michael John Russo III, Belton; one daughter, Jessica Lynn King, Liberal; one brother, Richard Palmer Green Jr., Sedalia; and four sisters, Lisa Renee Lindeman, Gravois Mills, Angela Wheeler and Cecilia Jane Wilson, both of Stover, and Christina Louis Burke, Versailles.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today at Stover Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Stover.

THURSTON

Michael Lee Thurston, 17, Fulton, died Jan. 4, 2001, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born Dec. 3, 1983, in Fulton, a son of Teresa Thurston. His mother, Teresa Cole, survives in Fulton. His stepfather, Paul Cole, survives in Auxvasse.

He was a student at Fulton Academy where he was active in student leadership.

Other survivors include: two brothers, Justin Thurston and Criss Cole, both of Fulton; and his maternal grandmother, Patty Thurston, Fulton.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton. Bruce Williamson will officiate. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens, Fulton.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today.

REPPER

Rosena Margaret Repper, 71, Cole Camp, died Jan. 4, 2001, at her home.

She was born March 22, 1929, in Lincoln, a daughter of Ernest A. and Rosie Sommerer Fischer. She was married July 30, 1949, in Sedalia, to Wilbur Charles Repper, who died Aug. 8, 2000.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Cole Camp, and attended Hope Lutheran Church, Bonita Springs, Fla. She was a homemaker, waitress at Skelly Truck Stop, Lincoln, and a salesperson for Montgomery Ward and C.W. Flowers, Sedalia.

Survivors include: four daughters, Linda Estes and Joyce Gruhn, both of Lincoln, Carol Scott,  Jefferson City, and Diane Cauwels, Grapevine, Texas ; one sister, Irma Metzner, St. Ann; three brothers, Henry Fischer, Pompano Beach, Fla., Walter Fischer, Cloverdale, Ind., and Ernie Fischer, Warsaw; and eight grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Randal Ehrichs and Vicar Todd Bunge will officiate. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Cole Camp.

Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Fox Funeral Home, Cole Camp.

Memorials are suggested to Cole Camp Senior Center, Trinity Lutheran New Church Building Fund or Benton County Cancer Society.

HARFST

Herbert E. Harfst, 86,  Jefferson City, died Jan. 5, 2001, at Oak View Living Center.

He was born Oct. 19, 1914, in Meta, a son of Henry and Caroline Voigt Harfst. He was married Nov. 7, 1936, in  Jefferson City to Alice Pohlman, who died April 15, 1985.

He was a lifelong resident of the  Jefferson City area. He attended Trinity Lutheran School and graduated from  Jefferson City High School. He was the manager of the Walz True Value Hardware Store for 44 years. He was a charter member of the Faith Lutheran Church, where he served as first secretary and Sunday School superintendent for 17 years as well as serving on the board of education, on the board of trustees, and on the board of Elders. He was a member of the Lutheran Laymen's League.

Survivors include: two daughters, Carolyn Weber, Wausau, Wis., and Jeanelle Mooney,  Jefferson City; one son, Herbert Harfst, jr., Richmond, Va.; one sister, Anna Ortmeyer,  Jefferson City; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Faith Lutheran Church. The Rev. Alvin Lange and the Rev. Tony Alter will officiate. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation is from 4-7 p.m. Monday at Freeman Mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to the Faith Lutheran Church or the Trinity Lutheran School.

MICKEY

Jimmie C. Mickey, 86,  Jefferson City, died Jan. 4, 2001, at the  Jefferson City Residential Care Center.

She was born Feb. 24, 1914, in Slater, a daughter of Charley F. and Stella B. Shumate Yancey. She was married Dec. 26, 1946, in Kansas City to Charles W. Mickey, who died Feb. 20, 1997.

She graduated from high school in Kansas City. She was a homemaker and worked as manager of Nancy's Hat Shop and at Herman's Department Store. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church. She served as president of the American Legion Auxillary, Roscoe Enloe Post 5. She was a chapeau of the Forty and Eight, Salon 655. She was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxillary, Oliver Buehrle Post 17.

Survivors include: three nieces, Judy Kilburn, Leavenworth, Kan., Sandra Bexten,  Jefferson City, and Donna Breuer, Little Rock, Ark.; one nephew, Sam Yancey, St. Charles; and one sister-in-law, Delphine Yancey,  Jefferson City.

Private services will be Monday at Freeman Chapel. The Rev. David Conley will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to The American Legion Boys State or The American Legion Baseball Program.

ARNSMEYER

Fredrick Julius (Fritz) Arnsmeyer, 89, Fulton, formerly of Hartsburg, died Jan. 5, 2001, at his daughter's home.

He was born Nov. 18, 1911, in Hartsburg, a son of Julius and Matilda Baumhoefer Arnsmeyer. He was married Sept. 25, 1937, to Opal Begemann, who died March 1, 1976. He married Barbara Vrosick, who also preceded him in death.

He farmed, worked on the railroad and worked in construction. He also was a security officer for University Hospital, Columbia. He served as mayor of Hartsburg for 41 years and was the 1994 Pumpkin Festival king. He was a member of the Peace United Church of Christ, Hartsburg.

Survivors include: his son, Larry Arnsmeyer, Hartsburg; his daughter, Joyce Gillespie, Fulton; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Peace United Church of Christ, Hartsburg. The Rev. Bryan Crousore will officiate. Burial will be in Friedens Cemetery, Hartsburg.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. today at Robinson Funeral Home, Ashland.

Memorials are suggested to Missouri River Hospice c/o Option Care, 3210 Bluff Creek Dr., Columbia, Mo., 65201.

BAINES

Irene Baines, 80, Macks Creek, died Jan. 6, 2001, at the Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach.

She was born Jan. 6, 1920, in Macks Creek, a daughter of Claud and Ada Meads Eidson. She was married Nov. 25, 1936, in Hermitage to Jake D. Baines, who died Aug. 8, 2000.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Roach Baptist Church, Roach.

Survivors include: one son, Allen Baines, Macks Creek; one brother, J.T. Eidson, Macks Creek; one sister, Fern Skinner, Camdenton; and one granddaughter.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Macks Creek. The Rev. Don Willis will officiate. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Macks Creek.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the Hedges Funeral Home, Macks Creek.

BROWN

JoAnn (Grylls) Brown, 63, Macks Creek, died Jan. 4, 2001, at Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach.

She was born Dec. 27, 1937, in Des Moines, Iowa, a daughter of Kenneth and Vera M. (Roach) Grylls, who survives. She was married Oct. 14, 1955, in Newton, Iowa, to Don B. Brown, who survives at the home.

She graduated from Des Moines East High School, Des Moines, Iowa, in 1956. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and crafts. She received several blue ribbons for her quilting at the Camdenton County fairs. She was a Baptist and a member of the Christian Women's Club. She served 2,522 hours with the Lake Regional Health System Auxiliary.

Other survivors include: two sons, Kent Brown, Rochester Hills, Mich., and Brent Brown, Leonard, Mich.; one daughter, Donna Jo Ligda, Clinton Township, Mich.; five brothers, William Grylls and James Grylls, both of  Oklahoma City, Okla., John Grylls, El Reno, Okla., Kenneth Grylls, Seattle, Wash., and Rick Grylls, Des Moines, Iowa; one sister, Jane Pschirrer, Cuba, Ill.; and nine grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton. The Rev. Dinzel Webb will officiate. Burial will be in the Macks Creek Cemetery, Macks Creek.

Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Tuesday at the Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton.

Memorials are suggested to the Lake Regional Health System Auxiliary.
