FRASHER

Vencil L. "Bus" Frasher, 74, Fulton, died Jan. 23, 2001, at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia.

He was born July 24, 1926, in  Jefferson City, a son of Thomas M. and Nellie Spurgeon Frasher. He was married Aug. 2, 1947, to Margaret Sack, who survives at the home.

He was a member of the St. Peters Catholic Church and he was an Army veteran of World War II. He was retired from Amalgamated Meat Cutter Union Local 576 and was active in Fulton Little League baseball programs.

Other survivors include: three daughters, Mary Jane Bock, Yukon, Okla., Ruth Ann Burt, Fulton, and Eunice Koziatek, Overland Park, Kan.; three sons, John Edward Frasher,  Jefferson City, Steve Frasher, Fulton, and Michael Frasher, Olathe, Kan.; two brothers, Tom P. Frasher, Henley, and Robert Frasher, Holts Summit; two sisters, Esther Gilpin,  Jefferson City, and Vera Louise Glenn, Lee's Summit; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

One infant son preceded him in death and another son, Tom Frasher, died in 1994.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Maupin Funeral Home, Fulton. The Rev. William Korte will officiate.

Visitation will be from 3-4 p.m. Saturday.

Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or St. Peters Catholic Church, Fulton.

JARRETT

Jim Jarrett, 54, Crocker, died Jan. 23, 2001, at his home.

He was born March 10, 1946, in Greeley, Colo., a son of Alton and Juanita Buckendorf Jarrett. His parents survive in Loveland, Colo. He was married April 23, 1966, at Fort Leonard Wood, to Bonnie Brasier, who survives at the home.

He was a member of the Crocker Christian Church and was president of the Crocker Parent Teachers Organization. He was an Army veteran. He was a school bus driver for the Crocker Public Schools for 23 years and worked as a greeter for Wal-Mart, St. Robert.

Other survivors include: one son, Scott Jarrett, Ironton; three daughters, Cynthia Singh, Tacoma, Wash., Dana Deason, Blodgett, and Cecelia Jarrett, Crocker; three brothers, Gerald Wayne Jarrett, Citrus Heights, Calif., Ted Jarrett, Denver, and Tim Jarrett, Sikeston; one sister, Sherryll Lynn Harrison, Coral Springs, Fla.; maternal grandmother, Alma Buckendorf, Longmont, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Crocker Christian Church. Rick Smith will officiate.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Crocker, and from 10-11 a.m. Friday at the church.

LITER

David N. Liter, 52, Osage Beach, died Jan. 23, 2001, at his home.

He was born Sept. 25, 1948, in Jacksonville, Ill., a son of Dale and Ruth Massey Liter. His mother and stepfather, Ruth and Russell Decker, survive in Jacksonville. He was married June 7, 2000, in Osage Beach, to Vicki Nevins, who survives at the home.

He owned and operated Liter Construction, Jacksonville, and Lattice Corner, Lake Ozark.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Carissa Heine, Buffalo Grove, Ill., and Amy Evans, Lincoln, Neb.; two stepsons, Rick Knifley Jr. and Steven Knifley, both of Franklin, Ill.; one stepdaughter, Dana Gilland, Franklin; one sister, Janet Evans, McComb, Ill.; and two step grandsons.

Two sons, Jason Liter and Scott Liter, preceded him in death.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach. The Rev. Kerry Persnell will officiate. Inurnment will be in Lake Memorial Gardens Columbarium, Osage Beach.

PETERSON

Lewis J. Peterson, 60, Jamestown, died Jan. 24, 2001, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.

He was born Jan. 15, 1941, in Beloit, Wis., a son of Harold and Rosella Jeffers Peterson. His mother survives in Jamestown.

A graduate of N. Boone High School, Poplar Grove, Ill., he served in the Army Reserves from 1964 to 1970. He was a self-employed construction worker and farmer. He was a corrections officer with the Missouri Department of Corrections at the Boonville Correctional Center.

He was a member of  Jefferson Prairie Lutheran Church, Clinton, Wis.

Other survivors include: one son, Bret Peterson, Jamestown; two daughters, Mandy Peterson, Jamestown and Cookie Peterson, Columbia; one brother, Richard Peterson, La Monte; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California. The Rev. Tom Leuther will officiate. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Jamestown.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.

HUFF

Alvin Edward Huff, 85,  Jefferson City, died Jan. 24, 2001, at his home.

He was born March 14, 1915, in Russellville, a son of Marion O. and Emma B. Gemeinhardt Huff. He was married Oct. 22, 1939, in Lohman, to Lydia Doehla, who survives at the home.

He attended Russellville Schools and was a carpenter. He worked for Capital City Water Company for 43 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Layman's League.

Other survivors include: one son, Robert L. Huff, Holts Summit; one daughter, Linda Smith,  Jefferson City; one sister, Helen Carver,  Jefferson City; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. John Hobratschk will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Houser-Millard Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.

KLEIN

Harold Walter Klein, 67, Holts Summit, died Jan. 24, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.

He was born March 21, 1933, in Detroit, a son of Fred and Emma Schury Klein. He was married in 1957 to Eleanor Schumacher, who survives at the home.

He graduated from Detroit Lutheran High School in 1950 and entered Concordia Teachers College, River Forest, Ill. He received a bachelor's degree in education in 1955. He earned a master's degree in 1961 from the University of Missouri branch at Southeast Missouri State in Cape Girardeau.

He taught in Jackson at St. Paul Lutheran School, then became teacher and principal at St. John's Lutheran School in St. Louis in 1964. In 1971, he became teacher and principal at St. Matthew's Lutheran School in Westland, Mich. In 1979, he became elementary principal at the Lutheran School Association in Decatur, Ill. He became principal at Trinity Lutheran School in  Jefferson City in 1987 and retired in 1995.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Beth Bailey, Imperial, and Carla Bauer, Abingdon, Md.; one son, Joel Klein, Sterling, Ill; two brothers, Adolph Klein, Westland, Mich., and Lawrence Klein, Garden City, Mich.; and three granddaughters.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Jerome Brownlee and the Rev. John Hobratschk will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Saturday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home,  Jefferson City, and from 2-3 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to the Trinity Lutheran School or the Trinity Lutheran Building Fund.

LAMM

Mary Elizabeth Lamm, 73, Tipton, died Jan. 25, 2001, at California Care Center.

She was born July 22, 1927, at Tipton, a daughter of William and Veronica Remlinger Schmidt. She was married Oct. 30, 1947, in Syracuse, to Harold Lamm, who died July 12, 1970.

She lived in Tipton most of her life.

Survivors include: four sons, David Lamm and Earl Lamm, both of Tipton, Kenneth Lamm, Jamestown, and Mike Lamm, Otterville; one daughter, Joyce Silvey, California; one brother, Carl Schmidt, Wellsville; three sisters, Alma Mischak, Sedalia, Dorothy Poe,  Jefferson City, and Freeda Toellner, Bunceton; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

One son, Roger Lamm, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Meisenheimer-Griswold Funeral Home, Tipton. The Rev. J.D. Cooper will officiate. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Tipton.

Visitation will be from 6:30-8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to California Care Center.

SHIVERDECKER

Sparrel Clifford Shiverdecker, 84, Fulton, died Jan. 25, 2001, at Fulton Nursing and Rehabilitation.

He was born Dec. 27, 1916, in Steedman, a son of Sterling P. and Bessie Coates Shiverdecker. He was married Oct. 3, 1938, in Fulton, to Naomi Margaret Hopsecker, who survives at the home.

He was employed as an assistant foreman at International Shoe Factory and at Samuels Shoe Factory. He was a member of Church of God Holiness, Fulton.

Other survivors include: four sisters, Neva McDonald, Mary Jane Salmons and Naomi Boone, all of Fulton, and Treva Fred, Columbia; and two brothers, George H. Shiverdecker and Sterling Price "Jack" Shiverdecker, both of Fulton.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. Saturday.

Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or a charity of the donor's choice.

TURNER

Sarah C. Turner, 93, Camdenton, died Jan. 23, 2001, at Ozark Care Center, Osage Beach.

She was born Sept. 19, 1907, in St. Joseph, a daughter of George D. and Juanita Florence Marie Hall Cartmell. She was married April 3, 1929, in West Plains, to C. Helmer Turner, who died March 13, 1988.

She graduated from high school in 1925 at the deChantal Academy at Elfindale in Springfield. She lived in Macon and Springfield before retiring to Camdenton in 1973.

She was a member of Community Christian Church of Camdenton. She was a member of Camdenton Order of the Eastern Star, Camden County Women's Literary Club and the Ozark Chapter of the Missouri Archeological Society. She was a founding member of the Ozark Mountain Gem and Mineral Society.

Survivors include: one daughter, Dorothy Harlan, Camdenton; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

One son, Peter H. Turner, died Sept. 30, 1993.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Community Christian Church. The Rev. Tracy Carroll will officiate. Burial will be in Allee Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, with Eastern Star services at 5 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to Community Christian Church.
