BECKER

Robert Joseph "Bob" Becker, 58,  Jefferson City, died Jan. 29, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.

He was born March 15, 1942, in  Jefferson City, a son of Vincent B. and Esther Cecilia Prenger Becker. He was married Sept. 26, 1964, in Freeburg, to Cecilia Joan Struemph, who survives at the home.

He worked as a route salesman and did public relations work for N.H. Scheppers Distribution Company. He retired in 1997 as a supervisor for the Westinghouse & A.B.B. Company, where he worked for 24 years. In 1985, he was the national recipient of the Westinghouse Community Service Award. After retirement, he worked as an independent sales representative for J.I.I. Sales Promotion Company for two years.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. He was a former member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Freeburg, where he was a member of the adult choir, parish council, home and school association and the fundraising committee.

He volunteered with the Special Olympics and Samaritan Center. He was a member of the Freeburg Lions Club; Selective Service Board of Central Missouri; Gasconade Bass Club; Osage County Ambulance Board; and was past president of the Fatima High School Booster Club. He also managed girls softball and boys basketball teams.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Carrie L. Swarthout, Freeburg; one son, Mark A. Becker, Argyle; two sisters, Catherine Ann Herman, Dodge City, Kan., and Sr. Marie Ester Becker, S.S.N.D.,  Jefferson City; three brothers, Bernard V. "Bud" Becker and John D. Becker, both of  Jefferson City, and Bro. Marvin J. Becker, F.S.C., Glencoe; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Family Catholic Church. The Rev. Gregory L. Higley and the Rev. Michael P. Murphy will officiate. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home,  Jefferson City, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to Holy Family Catholic School, Freeburg.

CALDWELL

Carl W. Caldwell, 58, Ashland, died Jan. 28, 2001, in Columbia.

He was born April 18, 1942, in Springfield, a son of Virgil and Bessie Mae Welch Caldwell. He was married June 7, 1974, in Columbia, to Janet Umland, who survives at the home.

He graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in electrical engineering and was a Navy veteran.

He owned and operated Caldwell Computing Technology, Columbia.

He was a member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church, Columbia. He had a pilot's license and was a member of the Missouri Pilot Association.

Other survivors include: one son, Charles Pugsley, San Diego; one daughter, Karen Schack, Lincoln, Neb.; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Andrews Lutheran Church. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Louisburg Cemetery, Louisburg.

Memorials are suggested to: St. Andrews Endowment Fund, 914 West Blvd. South, Columbia, Mo. 65203; or Missouri Pilots Endowment Fund, 4 West 112th St., Kansas City, Mo. 64114-5304.

Arrangements are under the direction of Robinson Funeral Home, Ashland.

GOLLUB

Services were Saturday for Emily W. Gollub, 80, Springfield, who died Jan. 17, 2001, in Springfield.

She was born Nov. 23, 1920, in Freeburg, a daughter of George and Celestine Castrop. She was married May 27, 1948, in Rolla, to Wayne Gollub, who preceded her in death.

She was a past resident of St. Louis.

Survivors include: two daughters, Maureen Richardson and Mary Beth McCoy, both of Springfield; two sons, Michael Gollub, Springfield, and Matthew Gollub, St. Louis; three sisters, Mary Jane Mertz, Lansing, Mich., Adeline Kolar,  Jefferson City, and Juliana Luetkemeyer, Freeburg; three brothers, Henry Castrop, Linn, and Daniel Castrop and Ferdinand Castrop, both of the state of  Oklahoma; and six grandchildren.

One daughter preceded her in death.

Services were held at United Church, Springfield.

Arrangements were under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home, Springfield.

MIDGYETT

Anna Lee Midgyett, 46, Columbia, died Jan. 21, 2001, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.

Arrangements are incomplete at Houser-Millard Funeral Home.

WIEBERG

Marie Ann Wieberg, 82, Freeburg, died Jan. 28, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born June 28, 1918, in Argyle, a daughter of John H. and Johanna Swartze Steinman. She was married Feb. 18, 1947, in Freeburg, to Edward Joseph Wieberg, who died July 16, 1975.

She was employed in the laundry department at the former Still Hospital and later at Quaker Window Products, Freeburg.

She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Freeburg, and Married Ladies Sodality.

Survivors include: three daughters, Delores Hoffman, Westphalia, Rita Lynch,  Jefferson City, and Donna Baysinger, Freeburg; three sons, John Wieberg, Alfred Wieberg and Bernard Wieberg, all of Freeburg; one brother, Louis Steinman, Argyle; 22 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Two daughters, Nancy Wieberg and Betty Wieberg, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church. The Rev. Michael P. Murphy will officiate. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery, Freeburg.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, Westphalia, with a prayer service at 6 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to Masses.

HAYES

Claude Clifton Hayes, 62, Eldon, died Jan. 28, 2001, in  Jefferson City.

He was born Feb. 12, 1938, in Morgan County, a son of Jess and Margaret Sousley Hayes. His father survives in Eldon. He was married May 27, 1962, to Ruth Ann Bond, who survives at the home.

He was a deacon and member of the First Assembly of God Church, Eldon. He owned and operated H&S Motor Freight and started Freightways Trucking Company, Eldon.

Other survivors include: three daughters, Kim Carlock, Spring Hill, Kan., Stacey McManus, Lancaster, Texas , and Courtney Hayes, Kansas City; one son, Brad Hayes, Eldon; three brothers, Karl Hayes and Delbert Hayes, both of Eldon, and Charles Hayes, Springfield; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at First Assembly of God Church. The Rev. James J. Hedrick will officiate. Burial will be in Greenmore Memorial Gardens, Barnett.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon.

Memorials are suggested to the First Assembly of God Church Building Fund.

PARKER

Patricia A. "Pat" Parker, 71,  Jefferson City, died Jan. 29, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born July 9, 1929, in Carthage, a daughter of Charles O. and Leola Ann Weaver Parker.

A resident of the  Jefferson City area since 1934, she was a 1947 graduate of  Jefferson City High School, and a 1949 graduate of  Jefferson City Junior College. She was employed for 47 years by the Missouri Department of Probation and Parole, where she was executive board secretary and deputy compact administrator from 1974 until her retirement in 1994.

A past president of the Interstate Compact Association, she was a recipient of the association's Frederick Award. In 1955, the association created the Patricia A. Parker Award to recognize special achievement with the organization.

She was a member and elder emeritus at Community Christian Church. She was a member of the Retired Missouri State Employees Association, the National Association of Miniature Enthusiasts, the  Jefferson City Personnel Management Association and the Missouri State Employees Personnel Management Council. She served one term on the Missouri State Employees Retirement Board.

She is survived by one sister, Mary Lou Clack,  Jefferson City.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Community Christian Church. The Rev. David Avery and the Rev. Leslie Dalstra will officiate. Private graveside services will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be after the service in the church fellowship hall.

Memorials are suggested to Community Christian Church or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

PEASE

Betty R. Pease, 65, Sunrise Beach, died Jan. 28, 2001, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach.

She was born June 23, 1935, near Eudora, Kan., a daughter of Floyd and Viola Nice Broers. She was married Feb. 7, 1957, to Robert J. Pease, who survives in Sunrise Beach.

She graduated from high school in Eudora. She worked as an office manager in Kansas City, then lived in Shawnee, Kan., before retiring to the Lake in 1989. She was a Methodist.

Other survivors include: one son, Randy S. Pease, Spring, Texas ; one sister, Kathy Zimmerman, Lawrence, Kan.; and two granddaughters.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Eudora City Cemetery, Eudora, Kan.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society Hope House, 1120 Penn, Kansas City, Mo. 64105.

EDMUNDS

Brianna Edmunds, 6, Dixon, died Jan. 29, 2001, at her home.

She was born June 30, 1994, in Rolla, a daughter of Tera Edmunds. Her mother survives at the home.

She was featured on Entertainment Tonight and she appeared on CNN. She was in a commercial for the Ronald McDonald Houses, St. Louis, and appeared in several brochures and magazines for the organization. She completed two years of preschool and was a kindergarten student.

Other survivors include: one sister, Emilee Edmunds, of the home; maternal grandmother, Teri Edmunds, of the home; and maternal great-grandmother, Nickie Williams, of the home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Dixon. The Rev. Mark Stewart and the Rev. Rick Hargrove will officiate. Burial will be in Dixon Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday and from noon-2 p.m. Friday.

Memorials are suggested to the Brianna Edmunds Memorial Fund.

McBROOM

Neil McBroom, 68, California, died Jan. 30, 2001, at his home.

Arrangements are incomplete at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California.
