DaVANON
Helen Marie DaVanon, 81, Linn Creek, died Jan. 29, 2001, at Osage Beach Health Care Center.
She was born May 21, 1919, in Cleveland, a daughter of Leo and Alice Cates Klinker. She was married Oct. 9, 1948, in Chicago, to Leonard DaVanon Sr., who died March 20, 2000.
She was a registered nurse at Lake Ozark General Hospital, Osage Beach. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Camdenton.
Survivors include: three sons, Leonard E. DaVanon, Lockport, Ill., Robert G. DaVanon, Romeoville, Ill., and Frederick J. DaVanon, Manvel, Texas ; four daughters, Mary Kay Voss, Chicago, Frances J. Cantwell, Dacatur, Ill., Patricia A. Bates, Romeoville, and Margaret M. Riley, Linn Creek; one sister, Alice Klinker, Jacksonville, Fla.; 25 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
One son, John Michael DaVanon, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. The Rev. James Feummeler will officiate. Burial will be in Lake Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton.
FISCHER
Nora Fischer, 89, Stover, died Jan. 30, 2001, at her home.
She was born Jan. 21, 1912, in Stover, a daughter of Fred W. and Anna Alpers Brandt. She was married Nov. 29, 1931, in Stover, to Emil H. Fischer, who died Nov. 21, 1991.
A lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Stover, she belonged to the St. Paul's Sr. Ladies Aid.
Survivors include: three daughters, Ruth Brunkhorst, Alma, Marietta Hinck, Stover, and Wanda Kerksiek, Cole Camp; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
One son, Glenn Fischer, one daughter, Lorraine Fischer, and one granddaughter preceded her in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. The Rev. Cecil Murdock will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m. Friday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Stover, with a prayer service at 8:30 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or to St. Paul's Lutheran School.
GLENN
David Glenn, 73, Vichy, died Jan. 30, 2001, at his home.
He was born Oct. 11, 1927, in Maries County, a son of John and Flossie Duncan Glenn. He was married Oct. 25, 1949, in Piggott, Ark., to Eunice Haynie, who died Nov. 20, 2000.
He was an Army veteran. He was a machinist for 35 years at Emerson Electric and for 17 years at Alvey Conveyor, both in St. Louis, retiring in 1989. He was a member of Vienna United Methodist Church; Lanes Prairie Lodge 531 A.F. and A.M., Vichy; and American Legion Post 12, Vienna.
He is survived by one sister, Marietta Spencer, Vienna, and one grandson.
One son, Donald Glenn, died April 23, 1999.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna. Burial will be in Ozark Memorial Gardens, Rolla.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today, with a Masonic service at 7 p.m. Visitation also will be from 9-10 a.m. Friday.
Memorials are suggested to the Vichy Volunteer Fire Department.
ROBERTS
Rheta A. Roberts, 89, Kansas City, formerly of Jefferson City, died Jan. 31, 2001, at Liberty Terrace Care Center, Liberty.
She was born Nov. 10, 1911, in Crook, a daughter of L.V. and Grace Matthews Perrey. She was married Aug. 17, 1942, in Camdenton, to Monte L. Roberts, who died in 1969.
A former owner of Schell and Ward, she was active in various community organizations.
Survivors include: one daughter, Sue Ann Schellmann, Kansas City; two brothers, Ralph Perrey and Edgar Perrey; one sister, Oline Hoffman; and one granddaughter.
Services will be at noon Saturday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home. The Rev. John Skiles will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-noon Saturday.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
WHITE
Beryl Vernon White , 76, California, died Jan. 30, 2001, at Morning Sun Care Center, Morning Sun, Iowa.
He was born April 20, 1924, in Walnut, Kan., a son of Ira L. and Rachael Verna Inman White .
A college graduate, he was an artist. He owned and operated an art studio and gallery in California.
Survivors include two nephews, Jeffrey White , Mediapolis, Iowa, and Terry Miller, Burlington, Iowa.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Weber and Sons Funeral Home, California. The Rev. Roy Sparks will officiate. The remains were cremated. Burial will be in East Hill Cemetery, Erie, Kan.
No visitation is planned.
LAHMAN
Kristin Lynne DeBrodie Lahman, 20, California, died Jan. 31, 2001, south of California as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born Sept. 22, 1980, in Jefferson City, a daughter of Larry L. and Sherrie Ann Floyd DeBrodie. Her parents survive in McGirk.
She was employed as a laborer with Cargill Inc., California.
Other survivors include: three sons, Ian Lahman, Evan Lahman and Seth Michael DeBrodie, all of California; one brother, Patrick DeBrodie, McGirk; two sisters, Nichole DeBrodie, McGirk, and Janine Horne, Jefferson City; maternal grandparents, Nolan and Dorothy Floyd, Coden, Ala.; and paternal grandparents, Carl and Shirley DeBrodie, Jefferson City.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California.
Memorials are suggested to the trust fund established for her children.
MERTENS
Edmund John Mertens, 78, Jefferson City, died Jan. 31, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born June 13, 1922, in Jefferson City, a son of John H. and Teresa M. Kuehn Mertens. He was married Jan. 16, 1948, in Jefferson City, to Kathryn E. Nichols, who died Aug. 1, 1984.
He was a graduate of St. Peter High School and a Navy veteran of World War II, receiving the Purple Heart. A carpenter, he worked for Ed H. Kuehn Construction Co. and was foreman for more than 30 years at Schell Construction Co.
After his retirement, he was employed at the nuclear plant in Fulton. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, American Legion Roscoe Enloe Post 5, and a 55-year member of Carpenters Local 945.
Survivors include: two sons, Michael E. "Mike" Mertens and Kendal L. Mertens, both of Jefferson City; one daughter, Cheryl M. Bratten, Jefferson City; and two grandchildren.
Services, with military honors, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Buescher Memorial Home. The Rev. Joseph Corel will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Assocation or to a charity of the donor's choice.
MUELLER
Lea Anne Mueller, 18, California, died Jan. 31, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born July 21, 1982, in Jefferson City, a daughter of Harold L. and Shona Basnett Mueller. Her mother and stepfather, Shona and Eric Harmon, survive in California.
She was employed at Cargill Inc., California. She attended California R-1 High School.
Other survivors include: one brother, Isaiah Harmon, Versailles; three sisters, Cyndi Mueller and Tina Harmon, both of California, and Misty Stauffer, Macks Creek; maternal grandparents, Leroy and Nancy Murray, both of Holts Summit, and Danny Basnett, Jefferson City; and one step great-grandmother, Beulah Decker, California.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California. The Rev. Walter Lockhart will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Jefferson City.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday.

STRUTTON
Kevin E. "Ruffus" Strutton, 21, California, died Jan. 31, 2001, south of California from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born Nov. 9, 1979, in Osage Beach, a son of Keith and June "Sue" Barr Strutton. His mother and stepfather, June and Larry Schrader, survive in California. His father, Keith Strutton, survives in Springfield.
He worked for Cargill Inc., California, on the load out crew. He was a member of Pilot Grove Baptist Church, near Latham, and was a 1999 graduate of California High School.
Other survivors include: two brothers, Keith Strutton, Jefferson City, and Robert James, California; one sister, Dawn Rayburn, Plant City, Fla.; step grandparents, Fred and Joyce Keitel, both of Jefferson City; and two step great-grandfathers, Dean Gillilan and Ray Schrader, both of California.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California.
