KAISER
Verna M. Kaiser, 82, California, died Feb. 9, 2001, at Moniteau Care Center, California.
She was born Nov. 13, 1918, in Prairie Home, a daughter of William and Dora Ida Schoenthal Schilb. She was married Oct. 23, 1947, in Prairie Home, to Herman Ewing Kaiser.
She taught school at Woodland and Prairie Home School for nine years. She taught in the California School District for 21 years. She was a member of California United Methodist Church and the UMW of the church.
She graduated from Prairie Home High School with honors in 1930. She received a teacher's certificate from Warrensburg Teachers College and her bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Survivors include: one son, Dale Kaiser, Jefferson City; and one brother, Wilbur Lee Schilb, Prairie Home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services. The Rev. Carol Koenig will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove United Church of Christ Cemetery, near Prairie Home.
Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Monday.

WARDEN
Dorothy Elizabeth Warden, 86, Fulton, died Feb. 8, 2001, at Fulton Nursing and Rehabilitation.
She was born Sept. 14, 1914, in Belle, a daughter of Charles E. and Martha Elizabeth Hicks Phelps. She was married May 8, 1931, in Jefferson City, to John Clayton Warden, who died Dec. 28, 1989.
She worked in housekeeping at Fulton State Hospital. She was a nurse aide at Kingdom Nursing Home.
Survivors include: three daughters, Frances Watson, Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Iva O'Neal and Lois Warden, both of Fulton; one son, Clarence Warden, Fulton; one sister, Iva Russell, Holts Summit; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton. Bruce Williamson will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon-1 p.m. Sunday.
SMITH
Dorothy Smith, 86, Laurie, died Feb. 1, 2001, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach.
Arrangements are pending at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Laurie.
WEAVERS
Mary Elizabeth "Mayme" Weavers, 92, Jefferson City, died Feb. 8, 2001, at the University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital.
She was born Feb. 23, 1908, at Wardsville, a daughter of William and Helena Wilbers Weavers.
She attended the St. Stanislaus Catholic School, Wardsville. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and a 50-Year member of the Daughters of Isabella, the St. Ann's Sodality and the St. Marys Hospital Auxiliary. She worked for the Division of Workman's Compensation for 30 years, retiring in April 1976.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Chapel of the St. Joseph's Home for the Aged. Monsignor Charles Patterson, the Rev. Robert Kraus and the Rev. Timothy Tatro will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Stanislaus Parish Cemetery, Wardsville.
Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Monday.
Memorials are suggested to the Immaculate Conception Church or to the Carmelite Monastery.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Buescher Memorial Home.
WARREN
Mary Amanda Warren, 79, Jefferson City died Feb. 9, 2001, at Capital Healthcare Center.
She was born Dec. 11, 1921, in Springfield, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Simmons. She was married July 18, 1948, in Jefferson City to Andrew Wilbert Warren, who died May 1, 1989.
She was employed with Pope Drug Store and worked as a housekeeper for several area families. She was a long-time member of Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church, where she was a member of the choir and of the Women's Missionary Organization.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church. The Rev. Eva C. Duncan will officiate. Burial will be in the Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.
VONDRACEK
Lettie Mae Vondracek, 67, Fulton, formerly of Florissant, died Feb. 9, 2001, at Callaway Community Hospital, Fulton.
She was born Sept. 2, 1933, in St. Francois County, a daughter of William R. and Mildred Casby Parks. She was married Dec. 25, 1950, to Gerald E. Gilman. She later was married to Everett Vondracek, who preceded her in death.
She was a clerk and checker with Schnucks stores in Florissant, until her retirement. She was a member of the Retail Clerks Local 655.
Survivors include: two sons, G. Bruce Gilman, Pocahotas, Ill., and Rudge Lee Gilman, O'Fallon; one daughter, Terri R. Marty, Fulton; three brothers, R. Earl Parks, state of Kentucky, D.J. Parks, state of Alaska, and Clifford Parks, state of Ohio; three sisters, Scottie Korp, state of Maryland, Barbara Engle, state of California and Betty Jarvis, her twin sister, state of Texas ; eight grandchildren and eight-great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Debo Funeral Chapel, Fulton, with Murray Buschert officiating.
Memorials are suggested to the Humane Society or to the First Baptist Church, Fulton.
TAYLOR
Rolla S. "Bob" Taylor, 84, Wichita, Kan., died Feb. 9, 2001.
He was born Feb. 16, 1916, in Jefferson City, a son of John and Nancy Taylor.
He served in the Army and the Air Force. He was the owner and operator of Bob Taylor Decorating until his retirement.
Survivors include: two sons, Patrick Taylor, Los Angeles, and Ron Taylor, Boise, Idaho; five daughters, Sue Knisley, Rose Hill, Kan., Joyce Parra, St. Joseph, Brenda Bahr, Roseville, Mich., and Lillian Taylor and Mary Taylor, both of Wichita; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Resthaven Mortuary Chapel, Wichita.
Visitation will precede the services.
PETERS
Lawrence John Peters, 90, California, died Feb. 10, 2001, at California Care Center, California.
He was born Aug. 24, 1910, in Moniteau County, a son of John H. and Cordellia Sophia Collett Peters. He was married April 17, 1937, in Moniteau County, to Brookie Mae Bradford, who died Dec. 7, 1980. He attended school near Russellville. He was street commissioner for the city of California, and also worked for the woolen mill and for the Kuhlmann-Meyer Mill, both in California. He was a member of the California United Church of Christ.
Survivors include: two sons, Herbert LeRoy Peters, California, and Jerry Dean Peters, Jefferson City; one daughter, Judy Asbell, California; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Two sons preceded him in death: Fred Albert Peters on Aug. 3, 1974, and Larry Peters on Oct. 9, 1991.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California, with the Rev. Gary Schulte officiating. Burial will be in the California City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday.

HECHT
Vincent Peter Joseph "Skipper" Hecht, 84, Tipton, died Feb. 10, 2001, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
He was born Jan. 22, 1917, in Moniteau County, a son of William A. and Elizabeth Schwickrath Hecht. He was married April 12, 1950, at Tipton, to Mary June Bestgen, who survives.
He graduated from Tipton High School in 1935 and from the University of Missouri Pharmacy School, Kansas City, in 1940. He worked in the Collins Drug Store, Tipton, until 1947, when he purchased Hecht Pharmacy, which he operated until 1979. He was the executive director of the State Board of Pharmacy from 1979-83. He served as fireman on the Tipton Fire Department for 51 years, including 23 years as fire chief. He was a Reserve Deputy for the Moniteau County Sheriff's Department. Hecht served nine years on the Tipton school board. He was a past member of the Jefferson City Cantorum and the Sedalia Men's Choral Club. He was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Tipton, and a 4th Degree member of the Tipton Knights of Columbus.
Other survivors include: one son, William Vincent Hecht, Iowa City, Ia.; one daughter, Melinda Elizabeth Peak, Centertown; and two grandsons.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Tipton.
The Rev. Henry Reichert, the Rev. Vincent Linnebur, the Rev. Edwin Schmidt, and the Rev. Louis Dorn will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Andrew's church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. today at Meisenheimer-Griswold Funeral Home, Tipton. A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m., with Knights of Columbus services following.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Andrew's School and Church, Tipton; the American Diabetes Association's Missouri Affiliate in Columbia; or the Boonville Dialysis Center.
DRAKE
Connie D. Drake, 56, Lee's Summit, died Feb. 8, 2001, at the Lee's Summit Hospital.
She was born Nov. 5, 1944, in Warrensburg. She was married to John Drake, who survives at the home.
She was active in the Lee's Summit Economic Development Council.
Other survivors include: two sons, David Drake, Overland Park, Kan., and Eric Drake, Lee's Summit; four daughters, Terre Gruetze, Belton, Lori Snider, Harrisonville, and Amy and Emily Drake, both of the home; one sister, Kathy VanAmburg, Linn Creek; and six grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Dale Blair Cemetery, Camdenton.
Visitation will be from noon-1 p.m. Monday at the Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton.
