BRADLEY
Dr. William B. Bradley, 68, Rolla, formerly of Jefferson City, died April 27, 1999, at his home.
He was born Nov. 9, 1930, in Macon, a son of Ralph E. and Gladys I. White Bradley. He was married Dec. 17, 1977, to Pamela S. Combs, who survives at the home.
He attended Jefferson City schools and received a bachelor's degree in chemistry and two years of medical training at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He received his medical degree in 1955 from the Cincinnati School of Medicine, serving his internship at St. Louis City Hospital, and his residency at William Beaumont General Hospital, El Paso, Texas , for the U.S. Medical Corps.
He was in private medical practice, including a pediatric practice in Jefferson City, as well as serving in the Army, both actively and with the Army Reserves. His career included the positions of chief of pediatric service, U.S. Army Hospital, Munich, Germany; clinical director, Warren G. Murray Children's Center, Centralia, Ill.; superintendent, Marshall State School-Hospital Complex, Marshall; chief, Department of Primary Care and Community Medicine, General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital, Fort Leonard Wood; medical consultant, Rolla Regional Center for the Developmentally Disabled, Rolla; medical specialist II-Missouri Department of Mental Health; and Commander, Detachment 1, 25th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital, Fort Leonard Wood.
He served in the Army for 21 years until his retirement in 1990 with the rank of colonel, most recently working part-time as a medical consultant at the Rolla Regional Center for the Developmentally Disabled since 1992. He was a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Pediatrics and the Reserve Officers Association.
He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Other survivors include: three sons, William C. Bradley, Cornersville, Tenn., and Ralph L. Bradley and Aaron B. Bradley, both of Independence; one daughter, Megan B. McGuire, Akron, Ohio; one brother, Ralph L. Bradley, Jefferson City; one sister, Iola E. Bradley, Jefferson City; five grandchildren and three step grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Null & Son Funeral Home, Rolla. The Rev. Bruce Wade will officiate. Burial will be in Olivette Cemetery, Marceline.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday.

ENGELBRECHT
Lucy May Engelbrecht, 81, California, died April 27, 1999, at California Care Center.
She was born Sept. 13, 1917, near Hughesville, a daughter of George V. and Susie Fannie Phillips Spears. She was married March 3, 1940, in California, to Leo E. Engelbrecht, who died Feb. 7, 1977.
A 1937 graduate of Fortuna High School, she was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church, California, and a former member of Pilot Grove Baptist Church. She was active in the Women's Missionary Union and taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School.
She belonged to the Sunshine Quilting Club.
Survivors include: two sons, Don Engelbrecht, Tipton, and Earl Engelbrecht, Blue Springs; four daughters, Betty Kirchoff, California, Anna Strother, O'Fallon, and Linda Gillilan and Carol Hall, both of Columbia; one brother, Roy Tom Spears, Tipton; one sister, Mary Sue McBroom, California; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Greg Morrow will officiate. Burial will be in California City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7:30 p.m. Thursday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California.

FOLEY
Sandra Sue Stith Foley, 51, Iberia, died April 26, 1999, at Ellis Fischel Cancer Center, Columbia.
She was born March 5, 1948, in Eldon, a daughter of Eugene and Betty Jo Rennaker Stith. Her father survives in Kaiser.
She graduated from Raytown South High School. She graduated from business school in Kansas City and was employed with the IRS. In 1979, she moved to Iberia and ran her own business, the Crows Nest, from 1990-1997. She was employed at Ozark Retirement Center as a certified nurse's aide. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Survivors include: one daughter, Tina Dawn Murphy, Linn Creek; one son, Steven C. Culter, Neodesha, Kan.; two brothers, Fred Stith, Lake Ozark, and Jerry Stith, Jefferson City; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Bishop Steven Hoopes will officiate. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery, Kaiser.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon.
Memorials are suggested to Ellis Fischel Cancer Center.
MONSEES
Lorene B. Monsees, 83, Stover, died April 26, 1999, at Good Shepherd Care Center, Versailles.
She was born Sept. 26, 1915, in Stover, a daughter of William and Ruby Blackburn Alderman. She was married to Rolla Hollcroft, who preceded her in death. She was married to Quentin Zwanzig, who preceded her in death. She was married Dec. 30, 1950, in Pyrmont, to Edwill Monsees, who survives at the home.
She was a homemaker. A former resident of Palacios, Texas , she had lived in Stover since 1928. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church-Pyrmont, near Stover.
Other survivors include one daughter, Jane Zwanzig Owens, Olathe, Kan., and one granddaughter.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Stover. The Rev. Arthur Ohl will officiate. Burial will be in Stover Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon-1 p.m. Saturday.

ROCKELMAN
Georgia F. Rockelman, 78, Jefferson City, died April 27, 1999, at Oak Tree Villas Retirement Center.
She was born June 7, 1920, in Jefferson City, a daughter of Charles "Harry" and Marinda Julia Fowler Benz. She was married Nov. 9, 1940, in Jefferson City, to Elvin John Henry Rockelman, who died Aug. 11, 1992.
She was a 1964 graduate of Lincoln University with a bachelor's degree in business administration. She also earned a master's degree in business administration from LU in 1977.
She worked as a general clerk at Benz Rent-A-Ford from 1934-42, then was an accountant for Harry Benz Enterprises, from 1942-52. In 1952, she became a co-partner of Benz Furniture and, later, Benz-Rockelman Furniture. In 1982, she became vice president of Benz-Rockelman Ltd. She retired in 1986.
She was a member of: Trinity Lutheran Church; American Legion's Roscoe Enloe Post 5 Auxiliary; Cole County Republican Women's Club; Daughters of the American Revolution; Cole County Historical Society; Historic City of Jefferson; American Association of University Women, where she chaired the Women of Achievement Awards Committee, and the Southside Business League, where she was a board member and vice president.
She served as president of the Trinity Lutheran School Parent-Teacher Association and the Jefferson City Council Parent-Teacher Association, where she helped get fluoride in the water system, start polio immunization clinics and get school crossing signals at several area schools.
She was a Republican candidate for Jefferson City's City Council in 1983, and served as a committeewoman on the Cole County Republican Committee from 1984-86.
Survivors include: one daughter, Barbara Reed, Volant, Pa.; one brother, Robert Benz; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home. The Rev. John Hobratschk will officiate. Burial will be in Jefferson City National Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Friday.

SHAFFER
N. Jayne Shaffer, 78, East Moline, Ill., died April 25, 1999, at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island, Ill.
She was born May 9, 1920, in Jefferson City, a daughter of William and Dona Enloe Schneider. She was married July 15, 1938, in Linn, to Earl C. Shaffer, who died April 28, 1990.
A graduate of Jefferson City High School, she served as an election judge for Rock Island County in Illinois.
Survivors include: two daughters, Sheree Rogers, Moline, Ill., and Kimbra Bartz, Palatine, Ill.; one brother, Harold Schneider, Jefferson City; and three granddaughters.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. The Rev. Jerome Brownlee will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1-2:30 p.m. Friday.

STOCK
Lola F. Stock, 79, Jefferson City, died April 26, 1999, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born July 19, 1919, in Limestone County, Texas , a daughter of William "Andy" and Bessie Owen Sowders. She was married May 12, 1945, in Marlin, Texas , to Ernest Stock, who died June 26, 1993.
She operated a day care service for many years and belonged to the Cole County Auxiliary for the Handicapped. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include: two daughters, Katherine Gander, Fort Madison, Iowa, and Gloria Jean Stock, Jefferson City; two sons, David Stock and Allen W. Stock, both of Jefferson City; one sister, Hazel Clemmons; four brothers, L.W. Sowders, John E. Sowders, Billy Sowders and Jack Sowders, all of the Houston, Texas , area; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. John Hobratschk will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to the Special Learning Center or to a charity of the donor's choice.
TWENTER
Grace Margaret Twenter, 86, Tipton, died April 27, 1999, at the Missouri Rehabilitation Center in Mount Vernon.
She was born Dec. 12, 1912, at Sedalia, a daughter of Herman Sr. and Lillie Rodekohr Rugen. She was married Dec. 28, 1938, to Joseph H. Twenter, who died Oct. 30, 1986.
She lived in Florence, Clifton City, and for many years in Pilot Grove, where she was the dietician at Pilot Grove Schools. For the past 24 years, she had lived in Tipton. She was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Tipton, St. Andrew's Alter Society and the Tipton Senior Citizens.
Survivors include: one son, Neil Twenter, Lebanon; one brother, H.C. Rugen Jr., California; three grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Andrew's Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Clifton City.
Visitation and rosary will be from 6-8:30 p.m. Thursday at Meisenheimer-Griswold Funeral Home, Tipton.
TUCKER
Ruth Tucker, 87, Osage Beach, died April 12, 1999, at Lake of the Ozark General Hospital, Osage Beach.
She was born May 2, 1911, in Philadelphia, a daughter of William and Elizabeth Weber Burkholder. She was married Dec. 3, 1939, in Yuma, Ariz., to Francis Tucker, who survives.
She was a member of Harper Chapel United Methodist Church, Osage Beach, and a chief ranger in the International Order of Foresters, Los Angeles, Calif. She played basketball for the railroad company in St. Louis. She was a member of United Methodist Women Harper Chapel and several bridge clubs. She lived in the state of California for more than 50 years.
She also is survived by one daughter, Pat Gardetta, Osage Beach.
Her stepmother, Bertha Hugg Burkholder, also preceded her in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Harper Chapel United Methodist Church, Osage Beach. The Rev. Chris Oetting will officiate. Her body was cremated.
