RAITHEL
Roy Chris Raithel, 76, Russellville, died Feb. 25, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born Jan. 9, 1925, in St. Martins, a son of Theodore and Clara Knernschield Raithel. He was married Nov. 26, 1948, in Independence, to Eleanor Hentges, who survives at the home.
He was a lifelong farmer in Cole County and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Lohman. He was a 4-H leader and active with the Cole County Fair. He was a past member of the Cole County ASCS Board, MFA Board Lohman Exchange and the Russellville Fire Board.
Other survivors include: two sons, Steve R. Raithel, Osage Bend, and Roy Raithel Jr., Jefferson City; two daughters, Pat Meloy, Latham, and Maxine Porting, Russellville; one brother, Harold Raithel, Jefferson City; three sisters, Helen Kuester and Ruth Powell, both of California, and Marie Coulter, Jefferson City; and 10 grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. The Rev. Carl Gauck will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Houser-Millard Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to the Vogelweid Learning Center.
HUME
Sharon Ann Hume, 46, Mokane, died Feb. 24, 2001, at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis.
She was born Dec. 17, 1954, in Jefferson City, a daughter of Kenneth E. "Poodle" and Berniece Stafford Grotewiel. Her parents survive in Mokane. She was married April 9, 1977, to Loran Hume, who survives at the home.
She was a member of the Hams Prairie Christian Church and Mokane Order of Eastern Star Chapter 352.
She had worked as an office manager for the Fulton Dental Clinic.
Other survivors include one daughter, Lauren Elane Hume, of the home, and one sister, Kenda E. G. Shindler, Fulton.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Maupin Funeral Home, Fulton. Burial will be in Steedman Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday.

BRIGGS
Jerome H. "Jerky" Briggs, 46, Centertown, died Feb. 26, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born June 15, 1954, in Troy, a son of Howard and Wanda Grant Briggs. His father and stepmother, Howard and Imagene Briggs, survive in Troy. He was married April 20, 2000, in Jefferson City, to Cheryl Crocker, who survives at the home.
A lifelong resident of Central Missouri, he was a 1972 graduate of Jefferson City High School. He worked as a truck driver for many years, most recently with the Farmers Concrete Company. He was a member of Teamsters Local 833.
Other survivors include: one son, Jeremy Briggs, Jefferson City; one daughter, Adrienne Briggs, Jefferson City; one stepson, Gary Hickman Jr., of the home; one stepdaughter, Leaha Summers, Holts Summit; five brothers, Terry Briggs, O'Fallon, David Briggs, Garden City, Mike Carson, Middletown, R.I., Robert Carson, Holts Summit, and William Carson, state of California; four sisters, Debbie Briggs, Troy, Diane Buerge, Garden City, Kim McKeehan, Labadie, and Dawn Bryan, Jefferson City; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Solid Rock Church. The Rev. Joe Skiles and the Rev. Tom Skiles will officiate. Burial will be in Elston Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at Freeman Mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to the Jerome Briggs Memorial Fund.
GREEN
J.P. Green, 77, Jefferson City, died Feb. 25, 2001, at Oak View Living Center.
He was born Aug. 23, 1923, in Jefferson City, a son of Ervin and Nellye Blanche Tatlow Green.
A graduate of Jefferson City High School, he attended Jefferson City Junior College and graduated from the University of Missouri with a bachelor's degree in education. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was hired by the Civil Service as a teacher for the Department of Defense. He taught for the Air Force at military bases and embassies throughout the world for more than 35 years.
Survivors include two sisters, Faye Green Davis, Holts Summit, and Alice Green Curry, Hemet, Calif., and one brother, Herbert Green, Overland Park, Kan.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Burial with full military honors will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Jefferson City and Mid-Missouri.
BRIGGS

BLACKABY
Services were Saturday for Nellie I. Blackaby, 79, McMinnville, Ore., formerly of Jefferson City, who died Feb. 21, 2001, in Parkland Village, McMinnville.
She was born Oct. 13, 1921, in Henley, a daughter of Marion and Mary Hoskins Gilpin.
She had lived in Fulton and Battle Ground, Wash. She moved to McMinnville in 2000. She retired from Fulton State Hospital in 1992 after 15 years. She was a member of Jehovah's Witness.
Survivors include: two sons, Thomas Dean, Battle Ground, Wash., and Charles Whitney, McMinnville; three daughters, Mary Young, McMinnville, Patricia Carrington, St. Joseph, and Rita Hoelscher, Jefferson City; and one sister, Louise Ramsour, St. Charles; 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services were at the LDS Church, McMinnville.
Memorials are suggested to the Parkinsons Foundation.
Arrangements were under the direction of Macy & Son Funeral Home, McMinnville.
BADE
Raymond L. Bade, 74, Ashland, died Feb. 26, 2001, at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia.
He was born July 5, 1926, in St. Louis, a son of Carl W. and Lena W. Grunendler Bade. He was married June 22, 1946, in St. Louis, to Anna Viers, who survives at the home.
He worked as a carpenter for Hussmann Distributing Co., St. Louis, for 40 years. He was an alderman for the city of Ashland. He was a member of Maryland Heights Presbyterian Church, Maryland Heights, and First Presbyterian Church, Jefferson City. He also was a member of Carpenter's Union Local 1596, St. Louis.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Laverne Garrett, Spring Hill, Kan.; four brothers, Carl A. Bade, Pottstown, Penn., William A. Bade, Arnold, Harold G. Bade, Fenton, and Thomas E. Bade, Arnold; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Maryland Heights Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Frank Gutherie and Carl Bade will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul Church Yard, Affton.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Robinson Funeral Home, Ashland, and from 2-9 p.m. Thursday at Collier's Funeral Home, St. Ann.

LAMB
Charles H. Lamb, 83, Cuba, formerly of Iberia, died Feb. 25, 2001, at his home.
He was born March 21, 1917, in Iberia, a son of Joseph M. and Mary Belle Hensley Lamb. He was married to Faye Lamb, who survives in Cuba.
He was a 1935 graduate of Tuscumbia High School and attended Central Missouri State University, Warrensburg. He then taught at a rural elementary school. An Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, he lived and worked in St. Louis until moving to the Crocker area in 1952.
He worked at Fort Leonard Wood as a Civil Service employee until his retirement. He was a member of Mt. View Church of Christ, Iberia, where he served as an elder for more than 40 years.
He was on the Richland Clinic Medical Board and the Livingston Cemetery Board.
He was Scoutmaster for Cub Scout and Boy Scout Troop 147 in Crocker for 18 years.
He volunteered on the Frisco Depot Restoration Committee and was a member of the Crocker American Legion and NARFE.
He moved to Cuba in 1994.
Other survivors include: one son, Steve Charles Lamb, Cuba; one daughter, Sherry Faye Layman, Cuba; one sister, Alta Jean Fancher, Crocker; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Long Funeral Home, Crocker. William Hensley will officiate. Burial will be in Livingston Cemetery, Iberia.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
KOEHNE
Mary C. Koehne, 90, St. Elizabeth, died Feb. 26, 2001, at Maries Manor Health Care, Vienna.
She was born Dec. 28, 1910, in Argyle, a daughter of Steve and Margaret Boeckman Schwartze. She was married Sept. 6, 1939, in Argyle, to Leo Koehne, who died Jan. 15, 1988.
A homemaker, she was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, St. Elizabeth.
Survivors include: two brothers, August Schwartze and Albert Schwartze, both of Argyle; and four sisters, Christine Renneke, Meta, Sophia Schepker, St. Louis, Rita Maasen, Linn, and Catherine Schwartze, St. Louis.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. The Rev. John Degnan will officiate. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, with a senior citizen rosary at 4 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at Rekus Funeral Home, St. Elizabeth.
