HODGES

Larry Lynn Hodges, 38, Holts Summit, died Feb. 28, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 26, 1962, in Los Angeles, a son of Richard L. and Shirley Smith Hodges. His parents survive in New Bloomfield.

A 1982 graduate of New Bloomfield High School, he worked as a server at Ryan's in Columbia and a cashier at Wal-Mart in  Jefferson City. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church, New Bloomfield.

Other survivors include: one sister, Debbie Thompson, Holts Summit; five brothers, Leonard Hodges, Holts Summit, Glen Hodges, Ashland, Steve Hodges,  Jefferson City, Dennis Hodges, Lake Mykee, and Garry Hodges, New Bloomfield.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Providence Baptist Church. The Rev. Jim Shaver and the Rev. Bill Wormsley will officiate. Burial will be in New Bloomfield Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Debo Funeral Home, Holts Summit.

Memorials are suggested to the Larry Hodges Fund at Bank Star One, New Bloomfield.

COOK

Roger L. Cook, 64, Ashland, died March 1, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born Sept. 7, 1936, in Kansas City, a son of Copeland and Rachael F. Roth Cook. He was married in 1956 to Deloris Jean Wills. He was married in 1973 to Patricia Jo Murray Wills.

A graduate of Ashland High School, he was a Navy veteran. He was a police officer in Bloomington, Ill., for 16 years, returning to Ashland in 1970.

He then worked in sales. In 1979, he established Cook Trucking, Ashland, which he currently owned and operated.

Survivors include: one daughter, Breenalee Cook, Ashland; two sons, Randy Lee Cook, Bloomington, and Danny L. Cook, Pekin, Ill.; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Robinson Funeral Home, Ashland. The Rev. Don Snyder will officiate. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery, Ashland.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to the Children's Miracle Network, in care of University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics; or to the Mid-Missouri Stroke Club, in care of Regina Pauley, P.O. Box 30638, Columbia, Mo. 65205.

ESSARY

Brian L. Essary, 20, St. Martin's, died March 1, 2001, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born Sept. 4, 1980, in  Jefferson City, a son of Norman and Lynn Knipp Essary. His parents survive at the home.

He was a 1999 graduate of Helias High School and a second-year auto body student at Linn State Technical College.

Other survivors include one brother, Jason Essary, of the home, and maternal grandparents, Norbert and Anna Mae Knipp, Tipton.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Martin Catholic Church, St. Martin's. The Rev. Ed Schmidt will officiate. Burial will be in St. Martin Catholic Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 8 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to St. Martin Catholic Church.

HAAGA

Helen J. Haaga, 96, Roach, died Feb. 27, 2001, in Ozark Care Center, Osage Beach.

She was born Nov. 6, 1904, in Timken, Kan., a daughter of John and Anna Chilar Spicka. She was married to Joseph Peter Haaga, who preceded her in death.

A homemaker, she lived most of her life in the Chicago area. She moved to the Lake area in 1991.

Survivors include: one daughter, Lillian Simcox, Roach; one sister, Agnes Humble, Mahomet, Ill.; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

One son, Joseph John Haaga, and one daughter, Adeline Haaga, preceded her in death.

Burial will be in Cedar Park Cemetery, Chicago.

Local arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home.

IHNEN

Carna M. Ihnen, 78, Camdenton, died Feb. 28, 2001, at Ozark Care Center, Osage Beach.

She was born June 29, 1922, in Golden, Colo., a daughter of Martin and Jennie Norby Hillig. She was married June 26, 1952, to Eckhart Ihnen, who died May 24, 1991.

She was raised in Chicago. In 1982, she moved to the Lake area. She was a member of the TOPS Club in Laurie and worked as a volunteer at Lake Regional Hospital. She was a Catholic.

Survivors include one daughter, Susan Beckwith, Camdenton, and two granddaughters.

Memorials are suggested to the Hurricane Deck Lions Club.

Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton.

KOETTING

Kathryn Williams Koetting, 93, Joplin, formerly of Versailles, died Feb. 27, 2001, at St. John's Regional Medical Center, Joplin.

She was born Oct. 31, 1907, in East St. Louis, Ill., a daughter of Shores and Ethel Mason Williams. She was married Oct. 22, 1966, to Louis W. Koetting, who died Sept. 28, 1988.

She was a graduate of LaMonte High School. She received a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Southwest Missouri State University and was a member of Kappa Mu Epsilon. She taught 10 years at Versailles High School. She later was associated with Business Men's Assurance in Kansas City. She moved back to Versailles in 1966 and was active in the Baptist Church, Women's Civic Club, Morgan County American Cancer Society and the Extension Club.

Survivors include one niece, Ann Jernigan, Joplin.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. The Rev. Bill Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Versailles Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Saturday.

Memorials are suggested to the Missouri Baptist Children's Home or the American Cancer Society.

MARTIN

Patricia K. Martin, 54, Roach, died Feb. 26, 2001, at Windsor Estates Nursing Home, Camdenton.

She was born Feb. 8, 1947, in Wichita, Kan., a daughter of Kenneth and Ruby Rizor Baker. Her mother survives in Roach. She was married in 1965 to Earl Martin, who died in 1984.

A Baptist, she worked at Kentucky Fried Chicken and the Lan-O-Lak Motel in Camdenton.

She also is survived by one brother, Teddy Baker, Sumner, Wash.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton. Pastor Robert VanderBerg will officiate. Burial will be in Roach Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Saturday.

RUCKER

Elsie E. Rucker, 86, Camdenton, died Feb. 27, 2001, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach

She was born May 16, 1914, in Camden County, a daughter of J.E. and Josephine DeCoursey McGuire. She was married April 23, 1931, to Floyd Rucker, who died July 3, 1994.

She was a homemaker and member of the Ira Baptist Church. She was a lifelong resident of Camden County.

Survivors include: one son, Junior Floyd Rucker, Troy; three daughters, Veda June Lucas, Camdenton, Frances Lee Moore, Belton, and Deborah Sue Easter of Holts Summit; two sisters, Ivah Leathers, Linn Creek, and Leona Burns, Camdenton; two brothers, J.R. McGuire and Eugene McGuire, both of Camdenton; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount Horeb Baptist Church. The Rev. Paul Burns will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Horeb cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon-1 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to Mount Horeb Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home.

ANDERSON

Abbie May Anderson, 92, Linn Creek, died March 1, 2001, at Windsor Estates Convelesant Center, Camdenton.

She was born Dec. 23, 1908, in Brumley, a daughter of Arthur B. and Settie Emaline Jeffries Wallis. She was married March 11, 1929, in Old Linn Creek, to Charles Ray Anderson, who died Oct. 19, 1962.

She was a homemaker and a Southern Baptist.

Survivors include: one son, Leon Ray Anderson Sr., Odessa; two daughters, Alma Irene Caviness, Montreal, and Janice May Lynch, Valley Lee, Md.; two brothers, Carl Wallis, Richmond, and Paul Dean Wallis, Baldwin City, Kan.; two sisters, Roma Wilson, Tuscumbia, and Evelyn Binkley, Eugene; nine grandchildren, 13 grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton. Burial will be in James Percival Cemetery, Linn Creek.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday.

CHIPLEY

Bencil James Chipley, 95, Gravois Mills, died March 1, 2001, at Cooper County Memorial Hospital, Boonville.

He was born Dec. 26, 1905, in Camden County, a son of John H. and Lou Silvey Chipley. He was married March 12, 1927, in Versailles, to Lois E. Pace, who died Sept. 25, 1986.

He was a retired farmer and carpenter. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, and attended Ozark Chapel United Methodist Church, Laurie.

Survivors include: one son, John Chipley, Boonville; one daughter, Shirley Hibdon, Independence; one sister, Alma Lou Thomas, Casper, Wyo.; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. The Rev. James Lawley will officiate. Burial will be in Versailles Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Monday.

Memorials are suggested to Ozark Chapel United Methodist Church, Laurie.
