BODINE

Christopher J. Bodine, 28,  Jefferson City, died March 31, 2001, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born Dec. 30, 1972, in  Jefferson City, a son of John F. and Joanne C. Hensley Bodine. His mother survives in  Jefferson City.

He attended  Jefferson City High School through his junior year, then graduated from Versailles High School.

He worked for Reliable Pest Control, Columbia, and Fyr Fyter. He had worked for the Missouri Department of Conservation and the Missouri Legislature. He served in the Missouri Army National Guard for more than 10 years.

Other survives include: his fiancé, Karen Kempker,  Jefferson City; one son, Jonathan Beene, California; and maternal grandparents, William H. and Velma Hensley, Jr.,  Jefferson City.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorials are suggested to the Jonathan Beene Educational Fund.

HILLEBRAND

Etta L. Hillebrand, 53, Fulton, died March 31, 2001, at Callaway Community Hospital, Fulton.

She was born June 8, 1947, in Callaway County, a daughter of Frank and Daisy Herman Brooks. She was married to Ronald Hillebrand, who survives at the home.

She worked for the Fulton State Hospital as a driver for over 35 years.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Melissa Gilman, Auxvasse; two stepdaughters, Shelley Bracher and Marla Hillebrand, both of Holts Summit; one stepson, Mark Hillebrand, St. Leonard, Md.; her stepfather, Herbert Berhorst, Fulton; and six grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Maupin Funeral Home, Fulton. The Rev. Mike Crowson will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Fulton.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, c/o Joneda Phillips, 1295 Mokane Road, Fulton, Mo. 65251.

KING

Hedwig Knubel King, 79, Camdenton, died March 30, 2001, at Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach.

She was born Sept. 3, 1921, in Luzerne, Switzerland, a daughter of Wilhelm and Martha Faukhauser Knubel. She was married to the Rev. James King, who preceded her in death.

A Baptist by faith, she was a seamstress for the Poindexter Company. She was a volunteer for the Senior Center Nutrition Program, Camdenton.

Survivors include: one son, Dil E. Uhlin Sr., Etters, Penn.; one daughter, Helen Ollison, Climax Springs; five grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.

Services will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton. Burial will be in Climax Springs Cemetery, Climax Springs.

Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Monday.

LAMPE

Leona D. Lampe, 87,  Jefferson City, died March 30, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born July 17, 1913, in  Jefferson City, a daughter of Silas W. and Bertha Della Wear Scruggs. She was married in 1939, in St. Louis, to Clarence Frederick "Red" Lampe, who preceded her in death.

A homemaker, she was a member of the Baptist church. She worked at Tweedies Shoe Factory and Oberman Manufacturing Company. She had owned and operated Lampe Trucking and General Hauling Inc.

Survivors include one sister, Mary Ellen Bremmerkamp,  Jefferson City.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Buescher Memorial Home. The Rev. Arnold Bickel will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to the Sheltered Workshop or the American Heart Association.

McLAUGHLIN

Harry Allen "Sam" McLaughlin, 38, Edwards, died March 30, 2001, at his home.

He was born Dec. 24, 1962, in Kansas City, a son of Harry F. and Barbara Ann Sparks McLaughlin. He was married Nov. 3, 1981, in Camden County, to Vicki Baker, who survives at the home.

He was a member of Faith Baptist Church, Climax Springs. He was in the Army National Guard and a Rock Mason.

Other survivors include: one son, Michael Thomas Baker, Edwards; two daughters, Chrystal Reynolds, Fort Smith, Ark., and Venita McLaughlin, Edwards; one brother, Thomas Andrew McLaughlin, Sedalia; two sisters, Gina Miller, state of Pennsylvania , and Mary Theresa Grimes, Corydon, Indiana; stepfather, Ron Zevecke, Edwards; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Faith Baptist Church. The Rev. Darrell DeVenney will officiate.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton.

PEAK

Velva Lee Peak, 76,  Jefferson City, died March 30, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born March 20, 1925, in Kansas City, a daughter of George B. and Bertie L. Thomas Johnston. She was married April 1, 1967, in Kansas City, to Cameron H. Peak, who survives at the home.

She was a 1942 graduate of Westport High School, Kansas City. A resident of the  Jefferson City area since 1970, she was employed as a bookkeeper with Coy's Moving and Storage Company until her retirement in 1989.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Presbyterian Women's Association and the Sterling Chapter of the American Business Women.

Other survivors include: one son, Lee E. Blakesley, Kansas City; one daughter, Janice A. Weaver, Houston, Texas ; one sister, Alice B. Smith,  Jefferson City; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. R.W. Beard will officiate.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Monday at the parlor of the First Presbyterian Church.

Memorials are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

RODEMAKER

Carrie M. Rodemaker, 91, Linn, died March 31, 2001, at Green Meadows Health Care Center, Linn.

She was born Oct. 14, 1909, in Osage County, a daughter of Joe and Susie Ware Wilson. She was married Nov. 15, 1926, to Bill Scheulen. She was married Feb. 9, 1943, to Walter Rodemaker, who died Sept. 20, 1968.

She worked in a cannery in California. She was employed at the Linn Manor Rest Home. She lived most of her life in Linn except for 25 years that she spent in the state of California.

Survivors include: two daughters, Cleta Taylor and Irene Taylor, both of Kansas City; two sisters, Jo Dill and Mattie Mantle, both of Linn; and an unspecified number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Morton Funeral Home, Linn. The Rev. Tony Townley will officiate. Burial will be in Linn Public Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.

WEST

Kenneth C. West, 75, Camdenton, died March 28, 2001, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.

He was born Sept. 24, 1925, in Statesville, N.C., a son of Allison C. and Alda Jane Murdock West. He was married Jan. 3, 1979, to Carolyn Good, who survives in Camdenton.

He was a make up editor for the Des Moines Register Newspaper, Des Moines, Iowa. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a Catholic.

Other survivors include: one son, Jim West, Dallas; two daughters, Barbara Ann Ferrari, Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Suzanne Crowley, Des Moines; one sister, Faye White , Statesville; six grandchildren and two great-grandsons.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Des Moines. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery, Oskaloosa, Iowa.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the Dogwood Animal Shelter.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton.

SCOTT

Services were today for Sudie Irene Scott, 94, California, who died March 31, 2001, at Moniteau Care Center, California.

She was born April 19, 1906, in Morgan County, a daughter of Henry A. and Ola Gabriel Comer. She was married near Hopewell to Herbert Scott, who preceded her in death.

She worked in a costume factory. She was a Baptist.

Survivors include: one son, Lloyd Comer, Orange, Calif.; two brothers, Henry Comer, Newton, Iowa, and John Comer,  Jefferson City; two sisters, Lula Foxworthy, Ulysses, Kan., and Lucille Barbour, Clarksburg; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services were at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California. The Rev. Steve Strauch officiated. Burial was in Old City Cemetery, California.

Memorials are suggested to Moniteau Care Center-Residents Pet Fund, 200 S. Gerhart Rd., California, Mo. 65018.
