AESCHBACHER
Alice A. Aeschbacher, 92, Fortuna, died April 1, 2001, at Good Shepherd Care Center, Versailles.
She was born April 30, 1908, in Versailles, a daughter of Daniel W. and Caroline Basinger Baumgartner. She was married Dec. 24, 1935, to Earl Monroe Aeschbacher, who died April 2, 1991.
A homemaker, she was a member of Bethel Mennonite Church, Fortuna.
Survivors include: two sons, Vincil Aeschbacher, Fortuna, and Kenyon Aeschbacher, Versailles; two daughters, Doris Whittaker, Westminster, Calif., and Barbara Burke, Kansas City; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
One daughter, Carolyn Sue Crocker, one infant daughter and one grandson preceded her in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bethel Mennonite Church. The Rev. Tom Voth will officiate. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles.
Memorials are suggested to the Women in Mission in care of Bethel Church.
FLIPPIN
Richard L. Flippin, 74, California, died April 1, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born Dec. 6, 1926, in California, a son of Herman and Tessie Mae Bowlin Flippin. He was married Nov. 9, 1948, in California, to Elsie D. Hees, who survives at the home.
He attended California High School and was an Army veteran.
He worked at Proctor Lumber for more than 20 years as a delivery person and at the truss plant.
He was a Baptist and a member of VFW Post 4345, California.
Other survivors include: three sons, Daryl Flippin and Randy Flippin, both of Jamestown, and Kevin Flippin, California; four daughters, Carolyn Smith, Brenda Frerking, Renita Ashley and Cheryl Heislitz, all of Jamestown; four brothers, Marion Flippin, Paul Flippin and Donnie Flippin, all of California, and Larry Flippin, Jamestown; three sisters, Erma Dean Roll, California, Gaye Kunze, Columbia, and Faye Jacobs, Marceline; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
One daughter, Sheila Flippin, died July 30, 1963.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Main Street Baptist Church, California. The Rev. Ken Mathes will officiate. Burial, with military honors, will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Jamestown.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California.

HOLDEN
Irene J. Holden, 82, Jefferson City, died April 1, 2001, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility.
She was born Dec. 4, 1918, in Tuscumbia, a daughter of John and Aretta Wyrick Hendricks.
A lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area, she attended school in Jefferson City.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include: three sons, Larry W. Surface, Garry D. Surface and Terry G. Surface, all of Jefferson City; one daughter, Joann Gilmore, Choctaw, Okla.; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
One son, Jerry L. Surface, died in 1971.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. Thomas W. Nelson will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials are suggested to the Heisinger Lutheran Retirement Home.
RAPIER
Services were today for Herbert Lee Rapier Sr., 72, Jefferson City, who died March 30, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born Oct. 21, 1928, in Owensville, a son of Frank and Mary Rapier.
He worked at Brown Shoe Co., Owensville, and Interco.
Survivors include: six sons, Herbert Rapier Jr., Tulsa, Okla., Barry Rapier and David Rapier, both of Jefferson City, James Rapier, Fulton, and Michael Rapier and Larry Rapier, both of Holts Summit; one daughter, Karen Rapier, Springfield; 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services were at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home, Owensville. The Rev. Calvin Maberry officiated. Burial was in Owensville City Cemetery.
WOLF
Sylvester E. Wolf, 88, California, died April 1, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born May 23, 1912, in Tipton, a son of Urban and Lula Worley Wolf. He was married Sept. 5, 1936, in Tipton, to Helen Schmitt, who died Dec. 31, 1989. He was married May 23, 1992, in California, to Frances Gerhart, who died Sept. 7, 1995.
He attended St. Andrews School, Tipton, and worked for Schreck Lumber Co., Wichita, Kan.
He then was a lumber buyer at Fischer Manufacturing for 25 years until his retirement in 1975.
He was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church, California, and a 3rd and 4th Degree-Knights of Columbus, Council 1360, Tipton.
Survivors include: three sons, David Wolf, Tipton, James Wolf, Defiance, and John Wolf, Sedalia; one daughter, Mary Copeland, Jefferson City; one brother, Louis Wolf, Conyers, Ga.; one sister, Nora Embry, Tipton; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Annunciation Catholic Church. Msgr. Francis Gillgannon will officiate. Burial will be in St. Andrews Cemetery, Tipton.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

AYLOR
Marie N. Aylor, 77, Jefferson City, died April 2, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born May 19, 1923, in Ralls County, a daughter of Henry O. and Blanche Thompson Norris. She was married Oct. 14, 1949, in Fulton, to Richard B. Aylor, who died May 16, 1997.
She graduated from Perry High School and Capital Commerce College in Jefferson City. She had been employed by several state agencies. She was a member of First Baptist Church; the Princess Rebekah Lodge 813, Tebbetts; a past member of the Rebekah Social Club; and a member of the American Association of Retired Persons.
Survivors include: three daughters, Lisa M. Henderson, Holts Summit, Leanne R. Robinson, St. Charles, and Holy B. Miller, Mammoth Spring, Ark.; one sister, Merlee Moss, Laddonia; one brother, William Norris, Saginaw, Texas ; and six grandchildren.
Graveside services will be in Riverview Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
HAY
Violet M. Hay, 70, Kaiser, died April 2, 2001, at Osage Beach Health Care Center.
She was born June 16, 1930, in St. Louis County, a daughter of Henry C. and Lelia Burkhardt Hay. She was married Feb. 15, 1951, to Wayland Neil Coley. She was later married to Edward E. Branstetter.
She graduated from Crystal City High School in 1947 and worked for Southwestern Bell. She worked at the Windmill and the 4-Trees restaurants in Boonville. In St. Louis, she worked at Red Lobster and Famous Barr. After retirement, she moved to Florida then to the Lake area and worked at the Funnel Cake Shop, the Rock Shop and Grannies Gift Shop. She attended Riverview Baptist Church, Osage Beach.
Survivors include: two sons, Matthew S. Coley, Linn, and Mark N. Coley, Kaiser; two sisters, Rose Julia Seelye, and Lelia Caroline Scher, both of Kirkland, Wash.; one half brother, Eugene C. Braun, Florissant; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach. Pastor David L. Mifflin will officiate. Burial will be in Lake Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Osage Beach.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials are suggested to Lake Area Hospice.
HORD
Arnold Lee "Kilar" Hord, 47, Jefferson City, died April 2, 2001, at Oakview Skilled Care Center.
He was born Oct. 12, 1953, in Jefferson City, a son of Dorothy Hord, who survives in Jefferson City.
A graduate of Lincoln Lab High School, he earned an associate's degree from Penn Valley Community College, Kansas City. He had been employed as a truck driver with Intac Trucking Company for the past three years.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Mitisha Blunt, Jefferson City; one son, Dennis Washington , Jefferson City; three sisters, Ava Hord, Jackie Hord and Tonnette Hord, all of Jefferson City; and two brothers, James Hord, Jefferson City, and Donald Hord, Kansas City.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home. The Rev. Rance Austin and Rev. G. Whittler will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Thursday.
