OUSLEY
Nellie Jane Ousley, 71, Jefferson City, died April 4, 2001, at Capital Healthcare Center.
She was born May 18, 1929, in Jefferson City, a daughter of Alonzo L. and Mildred Rosalee Jones Reed. She was married July 13, 1946, in Jefferson City, to Carl Richard Ousley, who died Dec. 27, 2000.
She was a homemaker and a member of Wayfarer Pentecostal Church of God.
Survivors include: two daughters, Sally Clark and Donna Hammond, both of Jefferson City; seven sons, William Ousley, Holts Summit, Richard Ousley, Russellville, and Carl Ousley, Harold Ousley, Michael Ousley, Earl Ousley and Lawrence Ousley, all of Jefferson City; seven sisters, Juanita Morris, Fulton, Mary Hursman, Kansas City, Shirley Love, Tebbetts, Wanda Jones, California, and Kay Brewer, Betty Woody and Geneva Wyatt, all of Holts Summit; four brothers, Donald Reed, Excelsior Springs, James Reed, Hartsburg, Johnny Reed, Kansas City, and Bill Reed, Holts Summit; 25 grandchildren; 14 step grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 21 step great-grandchildren and one step great-great-grandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Wayfarer Pentecostal Church of God. The Rev. Mikel Burton and the Rev. Jerry Reed will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Fulton.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to Wayfarer Pentecostal Church of God.
WILSON
Services were today for Paul Clarence Wilson, 87, Fulton, who died April 4, 2001, at Riverview Nursing Home, Mokane.
He was born Jan. 13, 1914, in Montgomery County, a son of Clarence and Lucy Messinger Wilson. He was married Aug. 9, 1941, to Millie Reed Clark, who survives at the home.
An Army veteran of World War II, he had been employed by the United States Forestry Service until his retirement in 1993. He was a member of White Cloud Presbyterian Church, where he was an elder and treasurer for 37 years.
Graveside services were in Callaway Memorial Gardens, Fulton. Bruce Williamson officiated.
Arrangements were under the direction of Debo Funeral Home, Fulton.
GRADY
Perry B. Grady, 81, Arnold, formerly of Iberia, died April 4, 2001, at St. Anthonys Medical Center, St. Louis.
He was born May 6, 1919, in Iberia, a son of Walter and Martha "Queen" Wilson Grady. He was married Aug. 10, 1946, in Iberia, to Loetta Maxine Barr, who survives at the home.
An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of Iberia American Legion Post 105, a lifetime member of Iberia VFW Post 6167 and a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. He farmed and was a member of Hickory Point Baptist Church, near Iberia.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Patsy Ann Plemmons, Arnold; three brothers, John Grady and Herbert Grady, both of Iberia, and Bill Grady, Granite City, Ill.; one sister, Ruby Anderson, Granite City; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia. The Rev. Ken Gray will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Livingston Cemetery, near Iberia.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
BOYLE
The Rev. James W. Boyle Jr., 75, Lebanon, died April 5, 2001, at St. John's Breech Regional Medical Center, Lebanon.
He was born Dec. 2, 1925, in New Castle, Pa., a son of James W. Sr. and Bertha May Strafford Boyle. He was married June 11, 1983, in Camden County, to Marjorie McGuire, who survives in Lebanon.
A Marine Corps veteran of World War II, he was a lifetime member of VFW Post 4107, a lifetime member of DAV 51 and a member of Moose Lodge 753, all in Lebanon.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Brandi Smith, Travis City, Mich.; two stepsons, Dale Burns, Camdenton, and Lester Manley, Lebanon; two stepdaughters, Deborah Golden, Springfield, and Brenda Crain, Camdenton; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton. The Rev. Gary Hutsell will officiate. Private graveside services will be at a later date.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
LOYD
Services were Sunday for Dr. Herlan O. Loyd, Carmichael, Calif., formerly of Jefferson City, who died March 24, 2001.
He was born March 17, 1913, in Culver, Kan. He was married to Marjorie Loyd, who survives.
He earned his medical degree from Kansas University in 1940. He also studied at Barnes Hospital, St. Louis, Northwestern University and the University of Pennsylvania . He practiced medicine in Jefferson City and was on staff at the University of Missouri School of Medicine before moving to California.
He practiced in Sacramento, Calif., and was on the planning commission for the Methodist Hospital. He was appointed to the California Board of Medical Examiners and was founder and first president of the Sacramento Bioethic Coalition.
He was a Mason, a Shriner and served on the board of the Sacramento Symphony and the Sacramento-Eldorado Medical Society. He was a member of the University of California Davis Medical Center Bioethic Committee.
Other survivors include two daughters, Marlene Lee, New York City, and Lavetta McCune, Richmond, Va., and four grandchildren.
Services were at Westminster Presbyterian Church.

SAPPINGTON
Ethelyn R. Sappington, 98, Ashland, died April 4, 2001, at Ashland Healthcare.
She was born Jan. 16, 1903, in Ashland, a daughter of A.G. "Lonnie" and Anna Drake Martin. She was married June 30, 1924, in Columbia, to Elson W. Sappington, who died in May 1984.
She was a member of Old Ashland Methodist Church.
Survivors include: one son, Hal M. Sappington, Warrensburg; one daughter, Alva Jane Cunningham, Columbia; five grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Robinson Funeral Home, Ashland. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. Saturday.

REA
Edwin Roark Rea, 88, Russellville, died April 5, 2001, at his home.
He was born April 20, 1912, in Pleasant Hill, a son of Clyde Harold and Minnie Susie Inskeep Rea. He was married April 10, 1935, in Oakland, Calif., to Ethel Marie McGinnis, who survives at the home.
He grew up in California and moved to Missouri after his marriage. He farmed, ran a Star Mail route and owned the Rea Upholstery Shop in Eldon. He was a member of Enon Baptist Church.
Other survivors include: one son, Clyde Marshall Rea, Russellville; two daughters, Donna Given Hanly, Columbia, and Diana Loyce Robinson, Versailles; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Enon Baptist Church. The Rev. Randy Trumbo will officiate.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Weber and Sons Funeral Home, Russellville.
Memorials are suggested to Enon Baptist Church.
MEREDITH
Winston C. "Church" Meredith, 79, Jefferson City, died April 6, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 5, 1921, in Ulman, a son of Ray and Opal Williams Meredith. He was married Sept. 24, 1926, in St. Louis, to Virginia Stephenson, who died Aug. 8, 1978.
A lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area, he graduated from Jefferson City High School. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II.
He worked for the Missouri Department of Insurance for many years. He was a member of VFW, Roy Sone Post 1003 and the Central Missouri Detachment of the Marine Corps League.
Survivors include two nephews, David Poepsel and Philip Poepsel, both of St. Louis.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. Thomas W. Nelson will officiate. Graveside services with military honors will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Monday.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
MELTON
Hayes M. Melton, 80, Jefferson City, died April 5, 2001, at the Villa Marie Nursing Center.
He was born Nov. 19, 1920, in Elkview, W. Va., a son of Mont C. and Allie Hayes Melton. He was married Dec. 31, 1944, in Jonesboro, Ark., to Marcella Daugherty, who survives at the home.
He attended West Virginia Wesleyan College, Morgantown, W.Va. He was an Army Air Corps vgeteran of World War II.
He was employed by the Missouri Division of Employment Security from 1959-1982 as a program supervisor coordinating for the U.S. Department of Labor and Industrial Relations. Earlier in his career, he had been an agent for different insurance companies.
He was a member of the Methodist Church where he was a lay minister and Sunday school teacher. He was a member of the Caruthersville Lodge, AF & AM; a member of the Royal Arch Masons; a past patron of the Order of Eastern Star; a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Roy Sone Post 1003; and a member of the American Legion, Roscoe Enloe Post.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Marcia Louise Morgan, Springfield; one son, Danny Moore Melton, San Diego, Calif.; four sisters, Virginia Evans of Spencer, W.Va.; Helen Neeley, French Creek, W.Va., Alene Slater, Highland, Calif.,and Freda Brady, Daytona, Fla.; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. L. Kyle Hern will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. Monday.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the Hospice of Jefferson and Mid-Missouri.
